Draven sat tiredly on a comfortable chair in his room after Isidore escorted him here. Everything he saw in this newly built empire was nothing short of amazing. There was even research going on with the natives. Although they weren't that professional, it was still much better than the research team in his previous homeland. Working here would be amazing, but tiring. He could already feel the weight of responsibility that he was given. However… the fact that he would be serving a Lord that was as amazing as Emersyn, he knew that, in the future, he would be ecstatic that he lived.
Now that he experienced all these luxuries, he didn't want to go back to that world anymore. Just like that, three days had passed and Emersyn knocked on his door.
"Hey, you good?" She asked as Draven gave her permission to enter. It was funny since Emersyn could freely enter because everything in this whole world was hers.
"You don't have to ask permission to enter, my Lord."
"Woah there. Did the three days that I wasn't here made you mad?"
"What do you mean, my Lord?"
"... you know what… never mind. Let's go to your world if you are okay now."
"Yes, I am perfectly fine thanks to your hospitality."
"You have to change clothes. You don't have to be so formal before Mahaze."
"No, this is perfectly fine," he said as he dusted off his butler suit.
"Okay…? Did someone hit you on your head?"
"As I said, I am perfectly fine, my Lord," he said in a polite manner.
".... I understand. Let's go."
"Yes."
With that, Emersyn opened a portal and made Draven enter first before her. When he took in the air that lacked the mana that he enjoyed in Locruna, he was suddenly nostalgic. However, that was all. He didn't desire to go back here at all. He would rather serve the emperor that would rule worlds from what he heard from the people. He looked around the battlefield that was filled with loud cries of war. When Emersyn led the way, Draven fell five steps behind as a sign of respect. They arrived before a tent and there were bodies and weapons on the land surrounding it.
"Sir Struan, I brought a guest from my home," she said as she swept the hanging cloth on the entrance.
Draven suddenly felt nervous and his enhanced heart beated rapidly. He was their enemy, and he did atrocities to them. He didn't know if he would be forgiven. He suddenly felt like backing down, but when he felt the dominating mana of his Lord, he took a deep breath and entered the tent.
"Sir Struan," he said politely, emerging from Emersyn's back.
Struan Ancel suddenly stood up with his eyes widened. He muttered, "Why is Grand Duke Luiva here? Emersyn… did you betray us? And why does he emit such strong mana from his body?!"
"I am not the one who has business here, Sir," Emersyn boldly said as she stepped to the corner of the room.
"... you…," when Struan almost unsheathed his sword, Draven bowed down and that made Struan stop in his tracks. "Grand Duke…?"
"I apologize for all that I did. I will say no excuses, sir. I will also not ask you to forgive me. So, please, don't suspect my Lord."
".... your lord?" Struan struggled as he alternately looked at Draven and Emersyn. "So… Emersyn, you revived Grand Duke Luiva?"
"Please do not call me by the moniker of Grand Duke. I am no longer a Grand Duke of this empire and I have no desire to serve this world any longer. I asked my Lord to let me see Sir Mahaze and apologize personally to the wound I caused him. Please let me meet him," Draven bowed lower.
"..."
Struan was silent.
"Emersyn."
"Yeah?"
"Please call Mahaze."
Emersyn smiled then left the tent.
"You can raise your head, Sir Luiva. A servant of someone so great shouldn't bow his head to a mere mortal."
"May I ask why aren't you calling my Lord politely?"
"Ah… well, she asked for it. Since we are the ones that she shared weeks of fighting with. Because of her, I can already see the end of this war."
"I understand," Draven said as he raised his head. "Once again, I apologize."
"... it's fine now. If Emersyn took you in, then there's no problem."
"I express my deepest gratitude."
"... Sir Luiva, why are you so polite?"
"I have learned in my Lord's presence," Draven smiled. "I decided to follow her until the end of my time. I have seen her works and I am deeply amazed."
"I… see."
"Sir Ancel?" Mahaze called from outside.
"Enter."
"You called-- ...….."
"I deeply apologize, Sir Mahaze, for what I did to you and to your people. I realized that I was too narrow-minded, and didn't realize my mistakes and caused you and your heart harm. I did not ask my Lord to take me here to hear your forgiveness. I don't have a plan to be forgiven, sir."
"... is that it?"
"... yes, sir. I will do anything that I can do. I will be here with my Lord to assist."
"... yeah. Excuse me, Sir Ancel," Mahaze said as he hurriedly left the tent of the commander.
Emersyn entered and smiled at Draven as if she was proud of him. Her gaze gave Draven more strength than expected. He… never had anyone who could say that they were proud of him.
"Commander," she called.
"Is it finally time?"
Emersyn grinned widely and said, "It's the last bastion. After this cleanup, we will proceed to occupy the empires."
Struan also grinned and donned his armor.
"Perfect."
Draven looked at Emersyn, then she patted him on his head since she was taller than he was. She whispered, "Great job, Draven. Keep up the good work. I'll expect more from you."
"Yes!" His eyes sparkled as his face brightened.
"Let's go. You are going to enter the battlefield with me."
"My Lord… I don't have a weapon."
"Okay, you can choose in my inventory," Emersyn said as she fiddled with the screen before her and showed the swords section to Draven. The swords were all enchanting, so he was baffled that his Lord had a collection.
"Our swordsmiths put their all into their works, so you can choose freely. Each of them are sturdy and flexible. I will give it to you, of course. They all dedicated their masterpieces to me, so my inventory is filled with swords."
"..." Draven scanned the swords and they all took his attention. He was lost which one he would choose.
When Emersyn saw how he was hesitating, she asked, "Should I give you mine?"
"... your sword?"
"Yeah. Do you want it?"
Emersyn smiled then unsheathed the sword hanging on her waist. The blade was shining silver despite being made by a new metal they found in Locruna that wasn't silver. In any case, it exuded an aura that far surpassed his imaginations.
"You can have it."
She said as she handed over the sword. When Draven took it from her hands, he could feel the lightness of the sword and the handle was covered with a special material that he didn't know what it was called. He tried swinging it lightly and the grip was perfect. He nodded immediately and kneeled before Emersyn.
"I received the greatest gift I have ever received. I thank you, my Lord."
"Actually, that was a sword I used when I was as tall as you. It's still perfect for me, so I didn't hesitate to use it here."
"Thank you still, my Lord."
"Stand up now. We still have a war we need to fight. After this, we will be going home."
Home… that had a nice ring to it. He liked it. Very much so. He stood up with a light heart and nodded. Emersyn smiled then ran to the direction of the battlefield. Draven ran and followed as he ran faster than ever before. It seemed like his body grew stronger and was stable at the time he went to rest in his Lord's world. Then, they arrived on a cliff and the battlefield was just below ground. He could see the extensive amount of the empires' last forces. It made his heart cold, but when Emersyn jumped down, leaving a warmth, he also jumped down and braced for impact. He didn't close his eyes as he fell fast from the high ground. Emersyn swung her arm and a strong wind was summoned and it brought them to the middle of the enemy forces.
Arrows were released to bring them down, but Emersyn just swatted it away with her blackened sword. She twisted on air as she fell and struck multiple enemies. Draven gulped down his fear and started following the tracks of his Lord. She was striking down foe after foe with her new sword. Her body moved nimbly.
"Draven, take the rear!"
"Yes!"
The battle only started when Emersyn and Draven took the lead. Only after that the forces of Struan and Mahaze came.
