The singles tournament started two days after the duos ended to give those participating in both time to rest up. the matchups for the singles tournament were random which led to an awkward situation when alex got paired up against yang who shrugged it off as bad luck. it only took a single exchange for alex to be declared the winner as he simply caught the punch yang threw at him before bear hugging her so hard her shield broke. the ease at which alex ended to fight brought chills to the rest of the people participating.
The rest of the singles tournament was fairly entertaining however as random people with both good and bad match ups brawled. jaune got matched with cardin who he beat handily by swiping the guys mace to the side and striking at his knees with his sword breaking his shield. ren got matched up with a guy with a strength type semblance who kept him on the defensive until eventually breaking his shield. nora got pitted with a fire semblanced faunus girl who she swatted away like a fly after chasing her down. ruby got matched up with a poor guy who didn't even have time to act before she hit max speed and rammed him with her scythe blade shattering his shield instantly.
Blake matched up with another faunus guy who seemed to have a camouflage semblance as he vanished as soon as the match started and took shots at her from various angles. she lost that match as she couldn't find her opponent that counter attack. pyrrha maintained her poise and defeated her opponent by moving their weapon with her semblance and land several strikes on them while they were open. alex's second opponent made a huge mistake by mocking him for having multiple women.
Literally everyone familiar with alex flinched at the remarks and couldn't help but think of that guy as an idiot. alex went from carefree to dark expressioned quickly and decided to teach this guy a lesson. first alex summon a massive metal bell over the top of the guy before slamming his fist into the side of it causing violent shockwaves of sound ripping through the arena. being inside the bell was far worse however as the guy felt even his organ shifting from the sound waves. this only damaged the guy slightly however so alex spent four whole minutes pounding on the bell and crushing his opponents will power though the sonic torture.
When alex tossed the bell away the crowd was horrified to see the huge amount of blood that had been reverberated out6 of the guys body. the dude would be fine thanks to his aura healing the damage but no one doubted he would be terrified of loud noises for a long time after this. those who matched up with the rest of alex's people made sure to avoid mocking them in the off chance they had alex's unpleasant habit of torturing those who angered him.
None of them did have that habit but no one felt like testing that out. ruby , jaune and pyrrha were the only ones beside alex to make it to the semifinals amongst alex friends. a few more people from the other kingdoms also made it to the semifinals including the monkey faunus who tried flirting with blake a few months ago called sun. the poor boy kept flickering a nervous look in alex's direction when he was announced as one of the semifinalist. it was funny to alex how relieved to guy looked when he lost to pyrrha knocking him out of needing to fight alex.
Alex had two more fights before he won the finals , one with a foreign opponent who lost quickly but painlessly and the final match against ruby who had made it that far. it was obvious that she knew she couldn't win against alex but she still looked determined to try her best. ruby played it smart and tried raining bullets down on alex from a distance but a wall of solidified air stopped them. alex caught ruby off guard by dashing to a spot ahead of her trajectory and using solidified air to trip her into stumbling straight into his open arms where she lost just like her sister with a bearhug.
The champions award ceremony was irritating for alex since there were news crews from each of the kingdoms taking pictures and asking for commentary. "i would like to thank the wonderful teachers at beacon as well as my parents for my victory." alex said before refusing to comment any further. no matter how badly the news crews wanted to get something easily misinterpreted out of alex to humble him it was pointless if he never said anything beyond giving thanks.
