Chapter 8 - Trouble

'Can there be such a coincidence in this world?!' Rog berated to himself. He would never have expected the man he saved to be the very person that he and Felicia should be escaping from.

"My name is Rog" Said Rog humbly with caution in his head.

"Since brother Rog saved me, I should repay you with a drink atleast." Insisted krendell.

"Thank you, but we must get moving, maybe another time." Said Rog hurriedly not wanting to spend anymore time with the young master of the Iron-panther sect.

"Very well, please visit my sect any time for the drink" Smiled Krendell, handing a silver token shaoed like a panther to Rog.

Shook by the impression created by the young master of the Iron-panther sect, Rog smiled before accepting the token. These tokens usually are used to authenticate one's status in a clan or sect and is widely used in the Immortal's world as a method of identification. Rog knew about this due to the information provided by the Immortal's diary.

The impression that Rog and Felicia had of the young master earlier wasn't as good as now as he was the reason for Felicia's plight.

A new image of the young master was now created in their mind.

With that, Felicia and Rog left the inn and set their course towards the nearest city with a horse-driven carriage. They needed to find a place to settle down for some time before the kings guard finds them again.

Along the ride, Rog closed his eyes and looked interfaced with the Immortal's diary again and saw a bar under his light shot skill with a level indicator. It showed that the skill was still at level 1.

'I wonder whether I must cultivate energy or use this skill frequently to level it up' Rog thought to himself.

In the inn that Rog had saved Krendell, a hooded figure with a spiked bow strung around his back sat in an inconspicuous corner of the inn with his eyes closed.

The light that shone on his face could barely show that he was an old man with a grey beard.

"I can feel the royal princess' Aura" The old man smirked to himself before leaving the inn placing a gold coin on the wooden table.

A few metres behind Rog's cart, four cloaked figures walked in silence, almost melding into the environment and not being noticed by many onlookers.

As the forest cleared out,Rog neared the city. He spotted a massive wall with a dozen guards and sentries patrolling it. There were two guards standing at the entrance with arrogant looks stopping all vehicles from entering before receiving some coins from the owners of the vehicles and then letting them go.

Rog, who was fiddling with the panther emblem given my krendell paid little attention to the guards. As the duo approached the guards, they stopped the vehicle before peering in.

After noticing Felicia with her silver hair trailing her body, they revealed gazes of burning desire. But before they could say a word, they noticed Rog holding an iron panther emblem. Their eyes gave looks of shock and fear before respectfully bowing and allowing in the vehicle.

Both Rog and Felicia noticing this gave each other looks of confusion before looking at the emblem in apprehension.

"This is no ordinary emblem" sighed Rog as he made his way into the city. He got off the carriage with Felicia and walked through the bustling crowds.

He would see vendors of various items in their stalls. But none of them caught his interest. He kept walking with Felicia until he stopped at a stall with many buzzard objects.

There was a colourful stone that caught his eye. The stone was the size of a child's thumb and seemed to be special.

Upon closer inspection, the immortal's diary jolted in his mind and flooded his mind with information related to the stone.

It was known as the three-coloured energy stone and could provide a source of energy to weapons and artifacts if imbedded into. Rog always wanted a sword, and after seeing the stone which could be used to complement the sword, his heart trembled in excitement.

The old vendor noticed Rog's interested gaze and instantly perked up.

"Little brother why don't you buy this ornamental stone? I will let you have it for a cheap price" He said with a glint in his eyes.

"Two silver coins". Rog emotionlessly stated.

The old vendor glanced at Rog with disappointment and stated "5 silvers, this I'd a special rock". Although he didn't understand the value of this stone, he knew that Rog wanted it, so he couldn't help but increase the price.

As Rog didn't want to bargain further as this price was already cheap for an energy stone. He paid the ecstatic vendor and pocketed the stone.

"My friend that's a beautiful stone, may I buy it from you?" A vicious and sly voice stated. Turning around with a hint of annoyance, Rog saw an 18 year old youth with long white robes and a face filled with clear arrogance stare at him smiling.

"I am the second young master of the Iron-panther sect, I'll treat you fairly if you sell me that right now" He said with a tone of forcefulness.

"I'm not interested" Rog replied coldly before turning around with Felicia and walking away.

After he heard 'Iron-panther sect' and saw the look of arrogance on his face, Rog was already at his limits.

"YOU DARE?! DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM? GUARDS CATCH THEM" An angry voice shouted. "And bring me that woman" He said slyly, staring at Felicia in lust and desire.

Armored guards surrounded the duo. For the first time, Rog felt an unprecedented sense of unavoidable danger. He felt fear not just for himself but also for Felicia who that man was eyeing.

Felicia and Rog had grim looks on their faces as they were surrounded. Just as the duo was about to struggle with their life on the line, a massive slapping sound resounded across the whole city.
