Inside the restaurant.
"Senior Yunyi, why were you so polite to that bumpkin just now? Her clothes weren't even appropriate for this restaurant, much less her carefree personality. She looked like a poor woman from head to toe. Cheap clothes without any jewelry, these are poor blokes!"
Qianqian secretly glared at the woman when she was ordering. Because they were considered top class, only one person handled the reception desk while the others stood back and waited in their own respectable positions, save for when it was the holidays.
Yunyi smiled. She had been working here for three years, unlike Qianqian who worked here in a measly three months. Qianqian had not grasped the insight needed to see through other people.
Thus she spoke in a soft tone, "You are still inexperienced. This is why you haven't been able to man the reception desk no matter how hard you try. Did you not see the watch she was wearing? Or the wallet she was holding?"
Qianqian behaved timidly when Yunyi scolded her. After all, although she was hot tempered, she was not stupid. "No I did not, Senior."
Yunyi sighed. "She was wearing Vacheron Constantin and Bottega Veneta. These things are nothing to scoff at. One glance at the items makes you immediately think that this person is not simple. The Mo siblings walked inside the elaborate restaurant with quick strides.
Seeing the two, Yunyi put on a polite smile and said, "Welcome to ShenSheng Miss Mo. Would you like to be seated in your usual table?"
Seeing the warm welcome, Mo Yan glanced at her brother and smirked. 'See this brother, my influence even extends to this restaurant.'
Mo Chou rolled his eyes. This sister of his was a show off. He sighed softly when he thought of what his plans for the future was.
He looked around the restaurant and found a few familiar faces of whom he either saw in a magazine or came across in banquets.
Just when he finished sweeping his gaze, a woman who was happily eating to her heart's content landed in his field of vision, this caused the initially calm Mo Chou to inhale a sharp breath.
"You look like you've seen a ghost, who captured your eye again?" Mo Yan returned to her brother and followed his eyes to look at a familiar face.
This... What a coincidence! The city was vast and large, with many restaurants that could attract all the nobles in the city. Who could've thought that a day hasn't even passed that they would cross paths once again?
Mo Yan internally jumped for joy. She stole a glance at his dumbstruck brother and once again formulated a plan in her mind. 'Hehe... Brother, see how this big sister of yours will solve this problem!'
The innocent Zhi Ruo remained oblivious and merrily ate the dishes before her. Although her appearance right now was much more simpler than last night, it did not fail to exhibit the fresh youthfulness of a young woman, even if she was 26 years old.
Mo Yan immediately walked towards her table with a smile on her face, dragging along Mo Chou with large strides. Mo Chou tried free from her grip however her fingers pinched his arm to stop him from squirming.
Mo Chou regretfully resigned to his fate. He tried his best to act calm and collected, contrary to his heartbeat racing faster.
"What a coincidence to see Junior Zhi Ruo here!" Mo Yan put on a smile as she looked surprise.
Meanwhile, Zhi Ruo stopped slurping on her soup and looked up.
If there was no one else in the vicinity, she would've already spat out her soup and ran for the hills but this was ShenSheng, a restaurant for the wealthy, she had to keep up a pretense.
'Oh hells! I knew that we would've met sooner or later but this was too soon! What can a woman do to eat her lunch peacefully? Was fate really screwing her over?'
Seeing as her senior did greet her, it would be rude not to reciprocate the same greeting and so said, "Senior Yan... I was just eating my lunch here for a break, it sure is a coincidence."
Zhi Ruo tried hard to suppress the urge to leave and hide the awkwardness and discomfort she was feeling. If her senior ever found out she wanted to leave, the consequences would be unbearable. She did not wish for the other to misunderstand.
Mo Chou, who quietly stood beside his sister, suddenly spoke up in a soft voice, "Do you mind eating together with us?"
Upon hearing his words, Zhi Ruo wanted to spew blood and strangle the man right then and there. 'Who would want to have lunch with you huh?!'
But in the end she only put on a polite smile and gestured for them to sit. "Of course not. Please feel free to take a seat."
Hearing her agree, Mo Chou's eyes resolutely lit up and a smile decorated his handsome face. This caused Mo Yan to inwardly gloat once again and cheer for her brother.
'See brother, were it not for me who took the initiative to speak up, you wouldn't be able to sit with your beloved.'
It was at that moment that a waiter approached them to take the order. "Hello Sir and Madam, are you ready to order?"
Mo Yan smiled and gestured to her brother. "I'll have whatever he's having."
Perhaps because Zhi Ruo did not deny his presence, Mo Chou felt better and confident. He then said, "I'll have whatever Miss Zhi has ordered."
The waiter nodded and politely said, "Please wait for a few moments, the dishes will be ready soon."
