The night breeze passed through my hair as I traveled towards the forest. I have loved this forest since I was a child and would always go into it when I needed a place to be myself and breathe for a moment.
My mother had always acted this way towards me, wanting to control my every move since I was a child. She never really loved me, more like despised me. The Empress Dowager wasn't exactly my mother. My mother died due to the stress she had gotten from the emperors first wife, which is the Empress Dowager.
The Empress Dowager was always jealous of the love my mother would receive from my father. She would try her hardest to get back at her through me. I did have an older brother and he was the same as his mother, full of jealousy and hatred for me and my mother. I still have the scares he gave me when I was a kid.
I sat on the rock that was the centre of the forest. My father always adored me because he knew what type of child I was. My older brother was jealous of this and always tried to hurt me in anyway. The day my father found out what brother did to me, he casted him out and disregarded him as his son.
Since that day, everything had changed for the better. Even when my mother had left me on this world, my father would always be there to protect me from the empress. We would always spend time together, him teaching me the ways of an emperor and just briefly having a talk.
When he died, I knew that my brother would start a riot to be able to get what was rightfully his. He would do anything to get to where I am and this was the reason I was crowned the emperor. After my coronation, I sent the empress to her motherland to think about what would happen now. She still thinks she can get into my head like she did when I was younger but I have grown.
Before Lixue came into my life, it was dull and none-existing. Now that she is here, I feel as if I could be anything or do anything to make sure that she smiles for me because her happiness is all that I need to be able to get through the day.
"Are you alright?" I heard Bambang's voice from behind me. I nodded and looked towards the stars and sighed. "Do you know how long it actually took me to be able to get where I am at the moment?" I asked him.
"More than 3 years" he said as he sat next to me. "More than three years Bambang and now she wants me to marry a girl that barely gets me interested in her. Everytime I am in a room with that woman and girl, I feel as if something is going to happen to me" I said to Bambang, looking at him.
"Maybe it's just a feeling. It comes to us but we may not be sure if it is true or not. But need not to worry, you know I always have your back dear friend" he said as he pat my back. I nodded and continued to look at the stars.
We than heard shuffling from the directions towards my left hand side. Bambang twitched and stood up with a sword in his hand. A guard soon came from the direction. He was out of breath and gasped. I stood up and walked towards him. "Sorry to interrupt…. But the empress and her servants have left the palace" he said looking down.
"How!?!?!" I exclaimed. "They beat all the guards and fled the scene" the guard said. I nodded towards Bambang and looked at the guard. In a wind speed, Bambang disappeared from the scene. Today was not quite an impressive day at all.
