Rie could only stare in shock at the strange little girl before her. This short child, with blond hair tied up on one side of her head, as a side-pony, with aquamarine eyes that shone excitedly, was smiling confidently at her. The pink dress she wore was somewhat long, going down past her knees, with frilly short sleeves. The strangest thing here was that she was simultaneously barefoot.
After a long while of staring at the child, the child herself pouted sourly. "Are you mute or something? I asked you a question." Puffing her cheeks out, she poked Rie in the forehead. Recovering from the moment of shock, Rie retorted, "Is this some kind of prank? Kid, did you lose your common sense with your shoes?"
The girl looked up, cheeks coloring slightly red. "T-that's your first strike!! Mortal, know your place!" Seeing the girl grow angry, Rie accidentally let slip a peal of laughter. "M-mortal! Ahahahaha, you did lose some sense!" This, however, made the girl absolutely furious. "How dare you question me, the Goddess of Rebirth?! Mortal, I shall have to correct you with proof!" Extending her hand, she flicked Rie's temple and her perspective shrank. Now, she saw eye-to-eye with the supposed Goddess. "WHAT-" exclaimed Rie, it now being her turn to be startled again.
A prideful expression overtook the rage on the Goddess Loli's face, as she repeated her original question.
"Mortal, do you wish to be reborn?"
"Why would I need to be?" Rie asked plainly, squinting at the Goddess Loli. The Goddess sighed, and shrugged, saying simply, "Because, you died. I thought mortals liked to be alive, but I guess you don't." Rie, panicking, put a hand over her now-flat chest, to find it completely still, not even containing a twitch of life. "H-how did I- I only just crossed the street to walk to school, so how-"
The Goddess Loli shut her down quickly. "By a truck. Standard for most soul transfers," she said smoothly. "I'm sure you've read a story like that before?" Rie nodded slowly, still holding her chest. "Well," the Goddess said, I'll just get on your transfer stats, so let's see that soul data of yours~" Sticking a hand into Rie's head, she pulled on a something, which made the Goddess frown for a moment.
Pulling harder, she pulled a transparent glass ball-type object out, and held it up. The center was slightly purplish, like an impurity.
"That is odd." The Goddess stated. "W-well, naturally it is, you just stuck your hand into my head!?" Rie exclaimed, feeling more and more odd herself. "No, not that, it's your soul data itself," the Goddess said, pointing at the center. "That is some kind of other soul in yours. That is clearly impossible, unless you are a deity, a youkai, or something died at the same time as you."
