The banquet still held in the meeting hall, food and beverages keep coming and replaces the empty plates in the table. It's not ordinary food that sold in a food stall in the sidewalk but expensive food like caviars, Wagyu steaks, white truffles, Frittata lobster, champagne, vodka etc. No wonder almost all participants gobbled those foods like never eating something for a year.
Almost? Yes, almost. Because Ryu, Ken and Chun Li did not touch any food or beverages at all during the banquet. Although the waiter and waitress keep coming, in turn, to offer them food or beverages, they refuse it politely. They just talking between themselves during the banquet, and reply someone that try to talk with them but not involved in any serious conversation with them.
The masked man Vega that enters the banquet using the secret door, secretly watching that three people from afar. He just receives a report from Weatherby that there're three people that can't obtain their data from nanobot that planted in food and beverages. That three people are people that he currently watched, Ryu, Ken, and Chun Li. He still didn't believe there are people who didn't tempt with all the delicious cuisine that provided during the banquet.
Vega still considering whether or not he should approach these three people. Finally, his curiosity wins, he approaching Ryu, Ken and Chun Li while act like other participants that try to get along with fellow participants.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, did I interrupting your conversation?"
"Oh no, not at all, we're not talking something serious"
Before I even get a chance to reply this masked man question, Ken with his easy going personality already answer him. Damn! I already feel somebody watching us at this banquet but I never thought that somebody is Vega. Fine, as long as Ken not saying anything that can jeopardize us, I shall let him speak.
That man opens his mask and reveals his true body, tall, strikingly handsome young man with long, brown hair which is braided into a ponytail. He wears murrey and yellow ceremonial trousers, a red sash, loafers, and white leggings of a matador.
"Then let me introduce myself, my name is Vega from Spain. May I know your gentlemen name and this beauty senorita name?"
"I'm Ken Masters, and that is my fellow apprentice in Ansatsuken style martial art School, Ryu"
"And this lovely senorita?"
"Chun Li"
Chun Li seems a bit irritated with Vega's attitude, and reply with a short and cold tone. Well, according to my game knowledge, Vega character is like that, described as intelligent and sophisticated also attracted to and impressed by the beauty and strength of young women. It seems Chun Li already get his attention.
"Ah, it seems this beautiful senorita didn't like me here, if that so, please excuse me, I will find another talking partner"
"Haha don't put that in mind mister Vega, maybe she just a little tired after arrived here this afternoon and don't like to talk much"
"Oh, is that so? Then it's understandable, I don't mind. Gentlemen are going here to participate in tournament right?"
"Yes, that's right. I'm participating in this tournament because I want to test my strength in this tournament. How about you mister Vega"
"Haha, I see. You look strong mister Ken. I'm participating here because I'm bored fighting bulls and try my luck to fight with real fighter here"
"So you are a matador mister Vega?"
"Something like that, I do that because many beautiful girls love matador in Spain"
"You are handsome man mister Vega, you still have girls' attention without being a matador"
"Haha, really? Anyway, gentlemen, ladies, do you enjoy this party?"
"Oh yes, we enjoy the party"
"But I don't see you take anything here to eat or drink?"
Before Ken said something stupid and make us in danger, I answer Vega's question before Ken open his mouth
"I not used to eat this kind of fancy food and drinks. I and Ken used to eat something simple in our school, right Ken?"
"Oh yeah, that right mister Vega. We also don't drink alcohol"
"And this senorita, why not eat or drink something?"
"I'm on diet"
Chun Li still answer with a short and cold tone.
"Hahaha, oh, so it's like that. Well gentlemen, ladies, please enjoy the party. Excuse me, I need to go to the restroom first"
"Okay mister Vega, see you later in the arena"
"Hahaha…please be mercy with me if we meet in arena mister Ken"
After saying that, Vega leaving us and disappears within the crowds in the party. I exhale a deep breath, it seems my precautions is right. If there's nothing suspicious in the food or drink, why Vega is asking that question? For the investigation, I take a little food and keep it in my pocket to analyze later.
