As Mimi was thinking carefully of the reason for the man's sudden intense aura, his dark low voice broke her from her thoughts.
"You broke your promise."
"Eh?" Mimi looked up with a puzzled expression.
Seeing the girl's confused expression caused his deep eyes to harden as he firmly clenched his hands together.
"You said you wouldn't do anything to cost injuring yourself," Tobias said with narrowed eyes.
Finally grasping what he had previously meant, Mimi flashes the man an angelic expression.
"I did promise that, however, what I did wasn't dangerous!" Mimi smiled radiantly.
Taking note that the noble man's dissatisfied expression only seemed to worsen, Mimi gently scratched her nose awkwardly, gently releasing a sigh.
"I told you before when we first worked together, I'm a person of my word," Mimi said soothingly leaning back in her seat. "If I didn't think I couldn't handle it, I wouldn't take care of it by myself, thus it's not considered dangerous. I also didn't get injured whatsoever!"
Staring fiercely at the charming girl beside him deeply, Tobias's furrowed brows hadn't eased one bit.
If anything he was slightly baffled about how such a thing could be considered "not dangerous" to a fifteen-year-old girl.
"Something else still could have happened," Tobias argued with furrowed brows.
Sighing loudly Mimi looks at Tobias with puckered lips, "Honestly, Mr. Itou! You worry too much. Even if something else happened, I knew you'd come."
As she completed her words, Tobias's eyes widened slightly. He couldn't help but feel stunned towards her words that held such confidence in him.
She knew he'd come…
For some reason, he couldn't help but feel warm inside as he thought of how much she relied on him.
"I also had my backup prepared, in case something went wrong," Mimi suddenly added, unknowingly crushing the man's previous thoughts.
Almost instantly, the man's soft tender gaze turned cold once more.
"By the way Mr. Itou, you still haven't praised me yet!" Mimi smirked as she leaned gracefully towards the man. "I completed my work efficiently and even faked the previous files he handed out! So I say what I did is deserving of a praise wouldn't you say?"
On Mimi's first day with working with Tobias, she immediately took notice of an interesting a highly appointed pest within the company.
That considered pest was none other than Mr. Lin, who had somehow made his way to the top as an executive board member in the company.
When Mimi curiously asked Tobias why he had allowed such a scheming pest to work on the top - although she could already figure out the reason, he merely responded with.
"It's better to allow the other side to believe things are working properly."
In other words, Tobias, from the beginning, was aware of Mr. Lin's scheming ways towards the company.
He would mostly watch tiredly from the side or switch information that Mr. Lin would eagerly hand to the other side.
This grand plan intentionally caused whoever was scheming against them to naively think everything they were doing was falling into place and that Tobias Itou was someone who appeared to possess power but couldn't even detect a visible traitor in his company.
However, the ultimate truth was much more crushing than it appeared. Tobias was playing with them.
And after getting bored, he handed the task for Mimi to deal with, leading to today's events.
Although Tobias was aware of Mimi's mischievous schemes and she had the situation until control, he wasn't aware of what methods she used.
Whatever it was she seemed to enjoy it, therefore, Tobias let her be.
If she was having fun playing around with others, he wouldn't mind simply watching from the side and allowing her to work.
Yet, never had he imagined she would physically injure the man. What was more bizarre was she seemed to enjoy it even more than her usual schemes.
When Tobias hurriedly arrived to see Mimi after hearing about the situation from Juno, he who always remained indifferent no matter the situation was completely stunned by what he saw.
The girl's delicate and seemingly fragile figure was hovering over the disfigured body of Mr. Lin's brutally damaged body, blood gently pouring from his face and body.
As she turned around, Tobias caught a glimpse of the girl's lifeless and sadistic expression, although it was brief, he nonetheless saw it.
Afterward, she flashed him her signature beaming smile - one that never reached her rare bright colored eyes.
It was exactly the expression of someone who feared nothing. Not even death.
Someone who possibly suffered the darkest hells in the world. He would know as someone who'd been the industry for almost a decade, he had his share of dark moments.
However, he didn't understand...why did a girl like her, who was so young, hardly experiencing many years of life, bear such an expression?
This merely made Tobias even more curious to expose the real person behind the always teasing and smiling girl.
While Tobias was lost in thought, from the beginning, Mimi observed his expressions waiting for him to speak. However, for three minutes the man zoned out into his own world - idly staring at his hand.
Hmm? What was he thinking about?
"Mr. Itou?" Mimi tilted her lovely head puzzledly.
Just as Mimi thought the man would remain silent for the whole ride, he suddenly spoke.
"Don't do anything like that ever again without my consent. If you do go, take my bodyguards with you." Tobias's dark gaze penetrated deeply into Mimi's alluring eyes.
Mimi stared foolishly at Tobias with a stunned expression.
Observing the girl go silent Tobias furrowed his brows before reaching out to gently touch her hand.
"Rely on me." The man's husky voice whispered as he gripped tightly on her soft hand.
As he finished his gentle words, Mimi's visible expression went blank her dull eyes slowly shifting towards the man's strong hand on hers.
For a few seconds, Mimi remained silent, her expression continuing to turn empty - as if her soul was slowly detaching itself from her body.
Abruptly, Mimi looks up towards Tobias with lively eyes once more, a wide smile spread across her rosy lips.
"Jeez, Mr. Itou, you're always so serious." She giggled, her hand sliding away from him slowly. "But since you're so attractive I'll agree. I promise if I plan to repeat my actions again, I'll go to you!"
After speaking reassuringly, Mimi turned away from Tobias to stare ahead her legs playfully swinging back and forth.
As Tobias watched her quick yet natural actions, he minced his lips together before turning towards the window.
Although it was quick, he noticed as he touched Mimi's hand, she flinched.
After he spoke, the words 'rely on me'; he felt her body turn cold as she almost going completely unnoticed...trembled.
It wasn't a tremble of pleasurable excitement that he noticed she always expressed whenever she was about to scheme something, but one of paralyzing fear and anger.
For the briefest of seconds, Tobias witnessed another side of Mimi he's never seen before. A dark and broken side.
