Olivia pressed her back against the wall, trying to get as much distance between her and the two people that sat down at the table. The male already seemed annoyed after he saw her reaction towards them. He started to rub his forehead with his thumb and index finger, moving in opposite directions from each other. While the female slowly placed her hand onto the table and kept her gentle smile on her face.
Olivia eyed them both and stayed silent. The female let out a sigh from her plump nude colored lips, she lowered her long black eyelashes down and looked at the male from beneath them. The male groaned as he looked at her from his peripheral vision. He immediately stopped rubbing his forehead and ran both hands into his thick black hair and brushed it back as he stretched his back. "Fine!" he said as he exhaled.
He slammed his hands down on the table and dropped his head onto his chest. A few seconds later he lifted his face revealing a a smoldering look. His pale pink lips were partially pouted, his skin looked smooth, slightly tanned and flawless. His eyes were a sparkling black, his eyelashes were long and slightly curled while his thick black hair was ruffled by his hands making it looked like he just got out of bed. "Can you do me the honor of sitting in front of me so we can have an 'exhilarating' conversation?" he said so smoothly it gave Olivia goosebumps.
Olivia quickly shook her head no and tried to push herself more into the wall. The male was shocked, his pride was hurt and his eyes quickly changed from an innocent sparkle to anguish. He stood up from his chair and pounded his fist onto the table while the other was busy pointing a finger at her. "Hey that was one of my best smolder looks! How dare you look like I tried to assault you!" he spat angrily.
The female noticed that Olivia's face paled dramatically. She placed on hand onto the male's arm to call his attention. The male looked at the female and started taking deep breathes, he then shook her hand of his arm and turned to kick the chair away from him. The female shook her head and brought her lime green eyes to Olivia. "I'm sorry sweetie, I thought you were ignoring me so I thought it would be best to let my partner calm you down... but I see that had the opposite effect on you." The female said apologetically.
Olivia stared at the female unsure of what to think. She wasn't sure if they were trying to get her to talk by playing good cop, bad cop but she wasn't going to move any closer to them. The female started to rub her left wrist. When she noticed that her movement caught Olivia's attention she started to unbutton the cuffs of her white office blouse. She smoothly peeled back her long sleeves revealing the scars that were hidden underneath. Olivia's eyes widened as she saw thin tracks that overlapped and crisscrossed each other across her delicate wrist.
The female raised one eyebrow as she watched Olivia start to drop her guard but she still refused to move from her spot. "I am detective Ruby Bane and this is my partner Officer James Nguyen we just want to ask you a few questions about what happened." she said gently. Officer James turned sharply and narrowed his gaze at Olivia.
"Why be so polite Bane, why not just get to the point already! She's just a piece of sh*t who assaulted two body guards, imprisoned her own sister and killed her own father do we really need to play pretend with her?!" he yelled as he pointed at her. Olivia took a step forward as she clutched at the fabric in the center of her shirt. "What are you talking about?" she said breathlessly.
Officer James raised his eyebrows in disbelief "Really?! Are you gong to continue your little innocent charade. All we need is to collect your DNA and compare it to the one that was found on the charred body then we can convict you for murder." he hissed through his teeth.
"No you got it all wrong! That's not what happened I swear!" Olivia pleaded. "Oh you swear, do you know how many psychopaths have feed me the same lines. Your disgusting." Officer James said darkly. "We have two witnesses who can testify otherwise. It doesn't help either that you stole a police officers car, crashed it into a gate in front of the media, stole a bullet proof vest, a hoodie, food and bike. Your track record is impeccable." he said sarcastically as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Nguyen that's enough." Detective Bane said sternly as she shot him a cold glare. She shifted her fierce eyes to Olivia and quickly masked her disdain with gentleness. Olivia felt her blood run cold. She knew that they already made the decision about her and there was nothing she could say to make them think other wise. She gulped as she released her shirt, she need to turn the tables quick.
"Have you spoken with my sister and gotten a statement from her." she asked with desperation as she clutched her fists. Detective Bane was a little a taken aback, she tried to hide her surprise from her face. She smiled softly trying to look caring but was unable to hide the pure mockery reflecting in her eyes. "Your SISTER is still passed out. She got quite a beating from a certain person and can't give a statement." she said with a passive aggressive tone.
Olivia gave them a small chuckle and decided to sit down. Noe she knew that these people were not on her side and knew what she had to do. She started to slip into the person she needed to be and allowed her imagination produce her massive snake, she watched it slither it's way around the two officers and she relaxed. "You're not a very good detective are you?" Olivia said as she placed an elbow on the table and rested her head on her hand.
She made sure to give them a delightfully crude smile, she wanted them to feel that they were nothing but a bad joke to her. "It makes sense now. All of it, one giant set up but why point everything at me? I guess both of you share half a brain but can not deduce the simplest things can you? Where are our tax dollars gong exactly, must be so that you can have your egos inflated when you do a half a**ed job." she asked innocently. Officer James had enough and slammed his fists onto the table. A vein was starting to pop out from above his right eyebrow as his lips curled back showing off his canine. "You little b*tch now your true colors are showing! How dare you try and act high and mighty now." he growled with contempt.
Olivia started playing with a lock of her hair. "Let me ask you something?" she said absentmindedly. Detective Bane crossed her arms and leaned back into her chair as she eyed her carefully. "Fine." she said coldly, Olivia stopped playing with her hair an looked her straight in the eyes. "I was asking if you talked to my sister Laila... but of course you've done a thorough investigation before coming in to question me right?" she said innocently as she batted her eyelashes.
Detective Bane's face scowled as she leaned back to the table, clasping her hands. "Laila?" she said dangerously towards Officer James. Sweat was starting to roll down his face, his eyes were wide as he stared at Olivia too afraid to face his partner. Olivia let out a small chuckle as she watched her snake coil even more around them but the head of the snake was starting to crawl up Officer James. She found their weak link and wasn't ready to strike just yet. "Let me also ask you this, where is Agni?" she asked in a bored tone.
Detective Bane raised her nose proudly "Agni Steel? Yes we actually do, your mother is actually here very worried about your welfare." she said with an air of arrogance. Olivia broke her cold facade and allowed her jaw to drop. "Why would my step-mother be here?!? My dad admitted her into the psychiatric ward!" she shouted as she started to get up from her chair. The two officers were a little surprised by Olivia's reaction.
Soon there was banging on the door and some very muffled noises could be heard. Olivia became terrified, she looked at the officers and her snake was starting to disappear. Again she slipped back to the girl they had seen before. She looked at the officers and pulled down the collar of her shirt as far as she could. "I don't have much time so listen and please do a thorough investigation! Do not be fooled by that woman, she has tried to kill me! THIS! This is because of her!" she started to ramble hysterically as she pointed at her scar.
"Dr. Bernard Steel saved my life, my grandfather saved me! Please do not just take everything you see on the surface I-I... I need to keep my unborn child safe! If you don't believe I'm pregnant look for Dr. Foster but what I have just told you is the..." The door to the room swung open with a loud bang. A tall, beer bellied man barged in. His suit was well fitted and his graying hair was combed to the side, his brown eyes were burning with anger, his nostrils were flaring.
"You two out of here now!" he shouted with a raspy voice. "Sir with all due respect I have this under control!" Detective Bane shouted back to the man as she started to stand tall. The older male's face started turning a deep shade of red as he looked at the people in the room. "Under control my a**! You jokers are making a young lady expose herself in front of you!" he shouted louder than before.
"Sir..." Officer James started but was completely cut off with a single glare from the older male. "Evidence came back inconclusive, no fingerprints the only thing we can charge her for is attempted man slaughter but because of some negotiations her mother will be keeping her ward." he said sternly. The two officers were ready to argue back but a pair of red pumps strolled into the room.
Blond flowing hair followed behind her while her intelligent blue eyes stared at them. Blood red upturned lips greeted them as she swayed her hips side to side. "Livy I came to rescue you!" she proclaimed in delight.
