Chereads / Eastar's Chronicle / Chapter 7 - The Beast

Chapter 7 - The Beast

Standing there, not knowing what to do, they waited.

The noise grew louder. Curious, Eastar decided to move toward the sound. As he passed the first tree, coming out of the clearing, he heard an even louder noise, and a log fell in front of him.

He looked to the left and saw a huge beast, much like a bull, with sleek black fur, horns the size of a man bowing, hooves creasing the ground as he grazed, the problem is that it should be at least five times the size of any cow.

The young man opened his mouth unable to say a word. It was like a walking house that snorted a lot through its nostrils.

The creature did not see the boy behind a tree, but saw Sindar, she gaped at that huge animal.

The bull snorted and stamped his front paws on the ground. He disliked the sirions at all, and had scars on his back that gave him reason to.

The princess stepped out of her trance and shouted at the stellar.

— Run! Get out! We won't be able to fight him without a dust weapon!

As soon as she finished speaking, the animal was lashed in her direction.

Eastar had no time to think, saw the beast slamming onto the girl, and ran after him. In a matter of seconds, he was beside the animal's front paws and gave his shoulder a shove; the giant bull was thrown aside, rolling and stopping near the crater.

Shaking his head and bellowing, the animals got up, furious.

— Come on, horned, why don't you take someone your size?

As soon as he completed the sentence realized that this was not quite the case. The bull decided that he would make a better target and fired at him.

The young man prepared to be hit when something jumped on him, knocking the star aside.

He found himself flying on the floor with the princess on him.

— I said to run. — Her eyes shone brighter than before.

The two stood and looked at the creature, which was preparing a new onslaught.

— Are you crazy? I will not miss the chance to test my strength here.

The princess shook her head, mouth open, unsure what to answer for a second.

— You ... what's your problem??

He just gave her a smile, if she could complain about him, mean that she was all right. He glanced back at the walking horned house as the princess moved away.

— All right, big man, if that's how it will be... Then come!

The bull invested again upwards of Eastar that, now prepared, screamed and ran against the animal. By the time the creature bowed the head and prepared to stick his horns on him, the boy jumped up, went over the powerful weapons that could impale a man, turned and kicked the animal in the upper back.

The creature was pushed to the ground and slid for a few meters.

The star fell to the ground, rolled and rose, laughing.

— This is awesome! I can even use this gravity thing in the fight!

He looked at the bull, which was beginning to rise, and grinned.

— Come on, big guy!

The creature shook its head and snorted, however, eventually shifting its attention to the princess, who raised her eyebrows.

— Oh… no, no... shit!

The animal moved toward her.

Eastar's eyes widened. This is not what he planned. Saw the animal shoot towards Sindar, could not reach it this time .

The girl's yellow eyes shone brighter and she jumped. Unlike the stellar, she didn't have that much impulse. She held the creature's horns, turned upside down and fell sitting on its back.

The furious animal began to squirm and leap as the princess tried to cling to his fur, as the animal's head movements would not allow her to remain safe from its horns.

— Great idea! I also can? — Eastar laughed, approaching.

— Moron! That was not a good idea!

As soon as she said that, the bull lurched to the right and jumped, flinging the sirion sideways. She fell to the ground and rolled until it hit a tree.

— Outch!

Without giving her time to recover, the animal advanced again.

Eastar realized that the situation could go very wrong, and ran toward the princess as she watched the horns approaching her. She couldn't dodge this time.

He gritted his teeth and ran as fast as he could.

It managed to reach the creature.

He didn't notice his fist begin to glow bright blue as he prepared to punch the creature. He just knew that he needed to stop him at any cost.

With the impulse of the run, he punched the side of the animal's head with all his might. The blow was so powerful that there was the sound of bones breaking.

The bull was thrown to the ground, sliding a few feet before stopping. dead.

— Oops! — Eastar tried recover air balance hopping on one foot. — Aaaahh, so that's how it brakes! — He turned to the princess and smile. — What a huge animal! Is that the kind of thing you keep hunting for? It's a little dangerous, isn't it?

Sindar didn't answer, she was sitting on the floor looking at him, puzzled and scared. Her eyes had already shone normally again.

— What's it? You 're looking at me like I'm another of this beast. — He said, pointing to the animal's body .

He felt strangely tired, but seeing the princess's expression, he preferred to leave the subject for another time.

— Cornaro.

— What? — He asked.

— Cornaro. It's the name of this breed of bulls, living to the west , on the mountain slopes.

— Ah, I thought that was a thank you.

— How? Ah, yes. — She got up and walked toward Eastar. — First, know this was your fault!

— I know, I'm sorry. — He grinned.

She shook her head, put a hand to her face and laughed. Then stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around his neck, hugged him and rested her head on his shoulder.

— Thank you.

He felt her body shaking and realized that in spite of not wanting to demonstrate, she was terrified. Hawked, thinking of how to make her quieter.

— So, I think we could go back.... Do you eat this thing? — He looked in the direction the cornaro.

Sindar looked from the animal to the young man, then laughed again.

— Yes, yes. We can take it to eat.... Even would be good get a new outfit for you.

The young man looked down and realized that the top of his overalls had just been destroyed. Only one of the straps held him, while the rips left his torso bare, leaving only the underside.

He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled, never been good at working with stardust.
