Chapter 10 - Rise and shine

Eastar woke up, blinking a few times at the light. He looked at the source and raised to close the curtains. Belron was unbearable sometimes. Then he lay back on the bed, in front of which was a closet where some clothes were put.

He laughed at his thoughts, taking him to the day before, when Sindar had shown him his robes before the party. He remembered them both on the city walls late last night, the smile on his face widening.

While the princess took care of his thoughts, his father broke into the door.

— Wake up and shine, little star!

With a shout, Eastar jumped and fell to the floor, wrapped in the blanket. The noise of the door slamming open was deafening, and Aros entered the room with his big smile.

The young star's surprise was such that he couldn't even reply. The pain of falling to the floor took the words of his mouth, blue light pulsed and decreased gradually, while the fright ended.

He struggled to his feet, and when he got up, the blanket covered half of his face and binded one of his arms to one leg.

— Shit, dad! — He began to swear as he struggled to break free. — Don't know how to knock?

— Of course I know, can't you see? — Aros pointed to the wooden door. — I just didn't know it would open. — The smile on his face increased. — Lie, I just wanted to laugh at you.

The door was slack and a large dent was visible on the metal part near the doorknob.

The commander laughed of the surprise expression of his son and headed up the curtains to open them. He had arranged a simple purple tunic, which he wore with red cloth pants. The boy scowled at those flashy colors his father loved.

— Ha, ha, ha… say so, why all that? — Eastar asked, finally free of the blanket.

— Hell, not even a good day? — The dad crossed his arms. — I thought you were going to receive me with more joy considering the smirk you had on your face yesterday.

— Because of ... — The son notice what his father had said and his eyes widened. — Are you going to tell me you decided to be spying on me all the time?

— I was just curious about the outcome of your heroism.

The young star began to relax, smiling a little.

— Interesting, right? But she acted weird, like she had to kiss me in hiding.

— She's a princess, can't be caught with any tattered brat.

— I hear this ragged boy looks a lot like you.

— Beauty is beyond the physical, brat. Charm. — The commander raised the finger and pulled up the chest. — This is really important.

Eastar just rolled his eyes, not wanting an argument that s so early.

Aros, on the other hand, could not look at his son, completely naked, without laughing. He walked to the closet, where he grabbed a pair of simple leather pants and tossed it to the boy with his underwear.

— Get dressed soon, before some housekeeper gets in here and ends up attacking that nice body you inherited from me.

— It depends, are they worth it? — Eastar asked as he tucked his pants in one leg.

— Who is it worth?

Sindar stood with his arms crossed, leaning against the door. The boy, astonished, turned around too quickly, causing him to curl up in his pants and fall to the floor.

— Oh! No one. I said nothing!

He continued to struggle with his pants, still sitting on the floor, sighed when he finally managed to dress and opened his arms.

— Can either of you tell me why this meeting here? — Then he taught something even more important. — Better, how long have you been there? — He pointed to the princess.

— Don't worry, big boy, if you wanna know, I think I missed the best part. — She winked at him.

— Well, I called the princess to help you with your training today. — The commander crossed his arms.

— Training? But already? — The boy began to get up while tying the strings of his pants. — Can't I just enjoy a few days here?

— Maybe, but you have to learn a few things first. Let's go.

Aros began to move out of the room, accompanied by the princess sirion.

Eastar hurried and forgot to put on a shirt. Sindar did his best to pretend she didn't look at the star's bare chest, but he didn't even pay attention, he was focused on listening to his father as they descended the stairs to the east tower of the castle, which ended at the back of the great hall.

After crossing the hall and a few other rooms, they finally came out in a large courtyard in the castle funds. The commander placed a hand on the girl's shoulder, which accompanied the two stars.

— Princess Sindar seems to be a bow and arrow prodigy and can teach you a lot. Your training has been based on the wrists, but here it is different. Earthlings have many weapons and there are some who are really great with them. — Aros started to look around. — So it's good that you learn, I know you won't take long to get the hang.... Well, I'll leave you here to have some fun. — He started walking and raised a hand in a quick wave. — Until lunch time.

The princess waved back and turned to her new student.

— There, where the straw targets are, I'll teach you how to use the bow.

The two went to the place while she made a brief explanation of the routine that would have and how it would help.

— I won't spend the whole day with you — said, while put a hand on his face. — Yeah, what a pity, isn't it? I bet you were crazy that I was by your side all the time. — She winked at the boy, who rolled his eyes.

The young star saw his father start talking to two young men fighting with swords in a grassy area. The place had a low wooden fence where others sat to watch. Aros got a sword from one of the men and start to practice some moves.

Sindar was still talking, but Eastar's mind was far away.

He began to look across the courtyard and saw that there were clusters of sirions in various areas, some wielding long blades with blades at the end, others riding horses, holding shields and poles about ten feet long, and launching themselves at targets. suspended wood circles. All wore green shirts with a coat of one will guide golden.

— Hello! Hey, big boy. Can you hear me? — The girl snapped her fingers in front of his face. — You get distracted too easy.

He finally turned his attention to her and put a hand to the back of his neck.

— Sorry. — He smiled.

— Alright. — She laughed while shook her head, he was so cute apologizing that she could not feel angry. — As I was saying, I will only accompany you during archery. Captain Jorg and some other soldiers should instruct you in the other weapons, at least the basics you are seeing them training..., but I intend to show them sometimes to see how you are doing.

— And what do you do the rest of the time?

— The usual: studying, helping my dad meet the people in the castle, strolling through some neighborhoods to see how things are.... My dad says this is my role as a lady, taking to the streets in a nice dress and greet all the people. — She sighed. — And then complain when I go hunting and stay a few days out. What could I do?

— I still don't know how you turned around all these years alone.

— Really? Well, big boy, I'll show you.

They were a hundred yards from the straw-painted targets, a few bowspots arranged alongside, along with ropes to arm them and baskets of arrows. Sindar took a bow with a meter and sixty and threw another, with almost two meters, for Eastar.

— I don't think you're going to have a hard time arming or shooting, so we'll focus on teaching you to aim, or not to aim, as I like to say. — She was speaking while arming her own weapon. — Do what I did and you will get it easily. She looked up at her student and saw that he was holding the bow already armed. — Oh, it's done... Ok, let's get down to business.

Without warning, she bent down, put three arrows in the bow, pulled the rope and, with the weapon lying in the horizontal, fired. Each arrow hit the center of a target.

She propped the bow on the floor and raised an eyebrow at the star, which was gaping.

— Do you understand how I turned all these years now? — She winked. — Your turn, big boy. Let's see what you're capable of...
