"Josh, I've come to bargain," Khajoor said in a serious manner.
When Kaal heard this line, he felt oddly satisfied. Somehow, this line suited to the current situation.
"What…? Bargain? Bargain what?" Josh asked confusedly.
When Josh heard this line, he breathed a sigh of relief in his mind. At least Khajoor wasn't going to kill him. If his body was in a normal condition, he would have killed him with just a slap, but the state he was in right now, his whole body pained even when he breathed. Currently, his back was covered with cold sweat. He swore in his heart that when his body returns to normal state he would definitely kill the two little rats.
"Let's talk then. My condition is that I will pull you out of that pit and send you back to your home. In return, you will pay for what you have done to us, like medical bills. And lastly, you will forget that this happened today and never come back to trouble us. Now, tell me. Are the conditions good enough for you?" Khajoor said in a demanding tone.
'Conditions are good enough? Good enough? If these conditions are considered to be good enough then morons, you might as well kill me. There is nothing that is good for me here. I will pay you and forget about this matter but in return, you will just send me back home? Isn't this just daylight robbery? You are a cheater. I don't want to play with you guys…Wuhuhuhu..' Josh thought. His face at the moment was changing colors. Sometimes red, sometimes white, sometimes, green, and many other colors too.
Khajoor was now questioning himself if Josh had some blood of chameleon running in his veins. He hadn't seen someone's face changing colors like that. Kaal also saw this scene and knew that Josh was very angry at this moment. He was considering if he should accept that bargain. If Josh refuses to accept that bargain, they only had 1 choice at hands and that was to kill him and somehow flee from there. But the only problem was that neither they had enough food nor the money to travel somewhere far. From the conditions they were in, they would die out straight as soon as they flee out of the village. They also didn't want to leave that village but that would only be their last resort. Only fate could determine what would happen to them.
"What happened? Are you unable to accept these little conditions of our? I think you really do want to die now." Khajoor said with a evil grin on his face.
When Josh heard until here, he was completely stumped. As the saying goes, the richer one gets, the more he fears of death. Same was the case here. When he heard the word die, he brain started lagging. But what he feared was not his death, but what would happen to his lovely wife and the prodigal son after his death. What would they do and how will they survive if he died? Although he wanted to kill those two little rats, but if he died his family would not fare better than the two rats in front of him. He can't die like this, he had his family to support and... hatred to report. Only the word 'die' and 'accept' was floating in his head now and he fell into a dilemma. He totally didn't think that if they killed him, they also wouldn't have anywhere to go and also die as a result. His fear made him unable to think any further. After some careful deliberations, he said, "Alright. I accept your conditions. Now, pull me out quick."
"Huh? Your life is in our hands, you know? At least ask politely." Khajoor said as he played with the rope.
Veins were popping out of his head as he said, "Please, pull me out."
Khajoor nodded satisfactorily and threw the rope in but when he was about to jump in to help Josh, he suddenly stopped and said very seriously, "First, swear on you Martial Dao that you would never trouble us and pursue this matter."
Josh was dumbfounded. He was only accepting those conditions for now but he wouldn't have done things according to what they had said. He was definitely going to come back for revenge. 'How dare these rats to injure me so seriously? Only when I kill them will I be able to take a sigh of relief.' Josh thought.
But when Khajoor told him to swear on his Martial Dao, he didn't want to do that. Swearing on the Martial Dao was like swearing to the heavens. If someone broke the pledge he had taken on his Martial Dao, then thousands of thunder and lightning would strike down on him. Not even his ashes would remain after that. The saying that, Food can be eaten randomly, but words can't be said like that, was true here. If you break the pledge, you pay for it with your life and this was what frightened most of the cultivators and had them think twice before they made any pledges.
Josh also knew of this and this was why he didn't want to do it. He still wanted to take his sweet revenge. How would he take his revenge back if he swore upon his Martial Dao?
He didn't want to do it but because of the current situation, he HAD to do it. He had no other choice left. He said broken-heartedly, "Today I, Josh, hereby swear to heavens that I won't make any troubles for Kaal and Khajoor and forget about what happened here. I will pay for all the medical bills for them too."
As soon as he swore upon his Martial Dao, the dark and silent sky suddenly brightened up as a thunder boomed across the sky. After just a moment, the sky went back to its usual self. As Josh looked at the sky, a trace of fear flashed past his eyes. Soon, he calmed himself down and said, "Are you happy now? Just get me out of here."
"Yup, very happy." Khajoor nodded satisfactorily.
Khajoor went down with the help of the rope and helped Josh come out of the trap. When those bamboos were taken out of his body, blood started flowing out like a fountain. Josh cried out in pain and cold sweat covered his whole body. Soon, he was taken out of that pit and thrown onto the ground. Khajoor hurriedly went to Chooha's home to ask for assistance. After explaining what had happened, Josh's wife Salena was very anxious. She told Chooha that she was going somewhere and would come back soon and hurriedly followed after Khajoor. Soon after, many guards along with Salena came there to pick up Josh's body and took him home carefully. Josh had once again slipped into the unconscious state.
When everyone was gone, the small, thatched hut had already become a mess, the ground had a big hole from which sharp-edged bamboos were protruding out, a heavy reek of blood could be smelled there, and pieces of torn skin were also splattered here and there. All in all, that place had become a mess. Khajoor and Kaal were feeling so tired that they fell into deep sleep as soon as they reached their home. Obviously, Kaal was still injured and was carried inside the house by Khajoor who himself had trouble walking around. As the situation was very urgent he had to bear all the pain he was feeling from his butt and ran around to many different places as per Kaal's plan. Now that he was home and feeling a little relaxed, his butt had started throbbing painfully. The cold sweat had covered his whole body. He had to lie face first to sleep.
...…..
Dawn
"Argh! My butt hurts! My butt hurts like hell! Kaal help me! Caress and massage my butt a bit and it would definitely feel good." Khajoor shouted tearfully.
As his jaw was still broken and his whole body was paining very much, Kaal didn't speak. So, he just turned his head away without saying anything. Khajoor didn't stop his whining and Kaal just ignored him. Their whole morning went like that. Kaal was already accustomed to all this so he just closed his eyes and rested once again.
When the sun was overhead, there came a knocking sound on their front door. When Khajoor stood up painfully and opened the door, he exclaimed loudly. He didn't think this person to come to their home. Kaal was awakened from his sleep by that exclaim and when he saw who it was, he was also stumped.
