Chapter 41 - Another Love Story?

20XX, May 6, Monday; XXX University, Currently unused classroom

Hello! Sean Fenris here reporting after... hmmm... four years. I'm on my second year of college now studying at XXX University like what I planned when I was in high school. I think I wrote about that before. Oh, yeah, this is the university where Luke, Lucas Hart, my drama club advisor in my first year of high school, graduated. What a weird description! Anyway, I'm writing this in a currently unused classroom in the university.

So, basic information first; I'm still living with my aunt and Eli but I've been hinting that I want to rent somewhere near the university. Aunt didn't want to let me live alone when I first started college but I want to try to persuade her again. She knows that I've always been a good student but she had a bad impression of college students away from the guidance of their parents being that she caught too many of them.

Next, Eli. He's in high school now. Still in the soccer club. We don't really talk much but I think he's planning to continue playing in college. He might get a scholarship though I haven't searched any school that has good sports program near our town. Then, he could also go pro once he graduated. Good for him.

The problem is that aunt wants him to take up criminology and enter the police force or military. It was her reason for letting Eli join a sports club. Any sports club really, for her. But Eli got too interested in soccer. I say let him do what he likes but it'snot like they let me join the argument. If Eli still wants to continue with soccer, then I could help him once I graduated.

Now, news about me. This is actually the reason why I wrote again. As I've planned before, I'm taking up Literature in this university and something happened last year, during the start of my second year and I don't know who to talk to with my the decision now regarding that. I'll write from the start.

Last year, I was a frequent visitor of the library as always but, this time, our university library. I was almost always alone except for group meetings for class projects. Never took the effort to make friends with them and never entertained a suitor.

I had no classes after I ate lunch so I decided to stay and read in the library. I just got a new mystery novel. I was alone in a table, focused on my reading, when I heard the chair in front of me move.

I looked up and saw a gorgeous guy smiling at me, "Is this seat free?" It is but it's not like there were no other tables available. Most students spend time at the coffee shops around the campus instead of the library so the place was bare.

Anyway, I was disoriented because of his smile so I blinked a few times before nodding as my answer. Thar was too embarrassing so I quicky got back to my reading.

I tried to focus again on the book but I kept getting distracted by the thought of having Richard Manson sitting in front of me. I recognized him, of course. We were never acquainted since he was studying Business while I'm in the Humanities department but there was nobody who did not know him, especially in our year.

He was two years older than me, a fourth year so it was a little surprising for my batch to know him. However, during our year's opening ceremony, he was one of the seniors helping out the new students at the registration.

Not only was he handsome, we later learned that he was also the son of the CEO of Manson Enterprises. I mean, who did not know of Manson Enterprises. He also did not have any bad rumors about him and he was single so a lot of girls were interested in him. He also has three other gorgeous and rich friends studying in our university.

So, there I was, distracted with all these thoughts. Since I was not getting any understanding in the book I was reading, I decided to take a peek at the guy. To my surprise, he was actually still smiling that previous smile while looking at me with his elbow on the table, hand framing his beautiful face.

"Uh..." I believe my face was so red back then.

He smiled wider, maybe because of my embarrassment but still kept staring at me, "Yes?"

Unfortunately, I still wasn't able to talk to him. I might stutter which will make my face redder, if it could still get any red.

Suddenly, after a while of just us staring at each other, he laughed while slightly coughing, trying to suppress it because we were still in the library. I thought it was mesmerizing. Not an exaggeration. Sparkling blue eyes, white teeth, he even had a dimple on his cheek. Would you believe it if I told you that the ceiling fan above our table was enhancing the effect by ruffling his hair like in a shampoo comercial! I'm not kidding!

"Sorry. You were just too cute," he said after he stopped laughing. And me? Still not talking so he just continued. I guess he's used to people being speechless in front of him.

"I often see you here. I recognized you from that Cinderella play last year. It was obvious you were great but I haven't seen you on stage again. Sorry, I just decided to talk to you now but I'm really curious."

He was waiting for my answer but I was even more unable to talk. I was surprised. That play was when I was in my first year. I joined a theater group in our school but still as a writer. However, that time, the actress that should act as the stepmother got in an accident while traveling to campus.

I don't want to act! And it was Cinderella?! I don't know what got into the script writers' and advisors'' heads to do that but it was just a small production so not many complained regarding the performance. But they actually wanted me to act!

I was still a new member and nobody else could do it so another embarrassing experience was added to my memories. And it looked like Richard saw it.

"I was not an actress." I managed to answer him.

When he realized I wasn't going to say more, he smiled again, "Too bad. By the way, I'm Rick, Richard Manson. May I also know your name, stepmother?"

After we talked that day, we kept meeting in the library when I was alone, sometimes we just say 'hi' when the other was just going out, or he would approach me like that first time. It was going on for months until he asked to meet me outside the library. A date to be exact.

I was hesistating at first but he was persistent and I kind of like him. I thought that it wouldn't hurt to try dating again. I guess I'm just wary because of my previous experience.

We're still together now but, just after my birthday last month, he asked me to come to a house party this coming weekend. And his parents will be there. Too much pressure and I don't know who to turn to for advice.

I'll try to write again for any news if I have time!
