Chapter 25 - I Really Don't Know Who to Talk to Regarding This

20XX, September 30; Middle School

I'm still at school now but club activities was already finished. I just don't want to go home yet and be alone with uncle in the house. I never got a phone yet so I also can't ask if aunt and Eli were already home.

You see, yesterday, I went home tired after club practice. Most of the managers were sick so those of us present have added work especially with the tournament near.

I mostly avoided uncle's offers to talk and have snack, saying I'm really tired and probably won't join dinner. Just my reason in case aunt and Eli will be late because a birthday event with one of aunt's friends and she also brought Eli. That will mean it was just the two of us in the house and will eat dinner that night.

I went to my room immediately, then to bed and really fell asleep. I guess I really am tired yesterday.

I don't know how long I fell asleep but I think I heard my room's door opening and closing. The lights were closed so I can't see but I felt someone touch my feet, then my legs.

Of course I woke up. I thought it was a mouse or an insect crawling in my bed but I saw a bigger silhouette. It was my uncle in my room and he whispered to me not to worry.

What would you do in that instance? I was really scared. I thought of screaming but nobody was in the house other than us, I don't think aunt and Eli were already home. The neighbors were a little too far from our house since aunt and uncle chose this kind of place because, sometimes, uncle's work makes too much noise that the neighbors might complain.

When he noticed I wasn't making any noises even when I sat up and retracted my legs to myself, he talked again asking me how was school. He sat on the bed, still in the dark and just talked to me. I think he was trying to calm me down and make me comfortable.

Then, he shifted nearer to me and extended his hand to touch my leg again. I was really creeped out so I asked him to open the lights so we can talk properly. He hesitated for a while, like he doesn't want to move but still sighed and stood up. I also sighed. You see, I don't have one of those lamp shades on my night table so he has to go to the other side of the room for the light switch.

That was when I heard a car coming in from the garage. With uncle a little farther away from me, I managed to get to the door before he became aware of me leaving the bed. Then I ran outside to welcome aunt and Eli even without wearing my slippers.

I got scolded by aunt because of that since the floor was cold and the weather was also getting colder. She was afraid I'll catch a cold and probably affect her performance as a parent to us. But I'm more afraid of staying inside the house.

I really don't know who to talk to regarding my uncle. Aunt might think I'm making things up since he was her husband. I'll just stay later at school the next days until I thought of what to do. At least I have the reason of the coming tournament to stay here. I'm just hoping they wouldn't ask the school about it or they'll know I'm lying since club activities should be over at this time.
