Chereads / Reincarnated into a Shingle Sea Urchin / Chapter 12 - Massive Sea Urchin of Doom

Chapter 12 - Massive Sea Urchin of Doom

At the bottom of the seemingly dark abyss of water, most of the time there is silence. Right now, there was a large group of marine creatures surrounding a huge flood dragon's body that was half embedded into the mud floors. Some of these creatures had a high enough cultivation to have intelligence equivalent to a seven year old.

A week ago, a devastating battle had occurred way high up in the ocean, leaving behind the corpse of a flood dragon that sunk to the bottom. Powerful marine clans had taken control of the area, draining it's blood essence and extracting it's core. Due to their strength, all the lifeforms that normally lived around the area went into hiding despite their greed. Even the most powerful creatures had to willingly give up and watch from a distance.

It was only after a week that the divine senses finally stopped scanning the area. Now that they are gone, life has come out of hiding, greedily looking at the body. Even though the core and blood essence are the most important, the flesh is still a powerful tonic that can improves one's foundation, strength, and cultivation. Even some impurities within the body are pushed out after consumption.

Although the reason why they haven't taken the scales is unknown, they can be used to make armor.

Now, thousands of marine monsters has surrounded the several mile long body. A few in the back had illuminated the area so it wasn't pitch black. Some had already taken the initiative to attack it's scales which didn't budge at all. Soon, more joined in, especially at the wounds from the battle.

Suddenly, the entire flood dragon shook, as it was twitching. Most stopped in confusion before it shook again. In the middle, the top of the flood dragon began to bulge. Every jolt of the body, the bulge grew like a wart. Then it ripped apart like a water balloon. Blood and scales scattered nearby as a huge creature came out, like a parasite.

This huge creature was dome shaped with a flat bottom. It's size was 2000 feet in diameter, or 200 meters short of the width of the flood dragon, or 0.37 miles; larger than most marine life here. Shingles lined the entirety of the creature, with a few long ones sticking out like petals of a flower. Each shingle seemed to be black holes that sucked away the light that touches them, while warping light nearby. Each perfectly square and nearly the same size each like a roof.

Beneath was sharp shingles that all pointed towards the center where the mouth is. The mouth is 48 feet long with several white teeth sticking to the inside of the abyssal mouth, ready to chew anything up. Such a scene would make mortals faint while others tremble in fear.

Blood, flesh, and scales that had been blown out seemed to be attracted, before being pulled inside, like a black hole. Even some unlucky marine life was pulled inside as well. Seeing such a huge sea urchin, others roared and attacked. Their attacks did nothing and rebounded off. The creature simply flipped over and opened it's mouth.

An attraction force emitted from the mouth, pulling all nearby creatures towards it. No matter how much they fiercely they resisted, they were pulled inside the mouth like a black hole, before being shredded by the teeth inside. The thousands of other marine creatures quickly swam over seeing the commotion.

Huge black snakes came out from each shingle, each as dark as a shingle. They flung around wildly, colliding with some creatures that caused them to die immediately. Others would be directly devoured. All attacks seemed to be devoured or rebounded backwards, killing the attacker.

Hundreds of marine life instantly died each time the snakes violently swung their own bodies. Several were directly swallowed. The dead ones were pulled towards the mouth before being sucked in.

Finally, the two largest and strongest creatures around joined in. Originally, they were just watching because it reduced competition and allowed them to have more. But seeing how insignificant it was to the sea urchin, they couldn't help but feel threatened by it's seemingly tireless strength. A large puffer-fish that's size 75% the size of the sea urchin, expanded before firing a round of spikes from it's body towards it's mouth region. A black shield appeared around that area which defended against it without causing much of a ripple in it at all.

Several snakes combined into one before appearing in a second in front of it, before colliding it's head against it's body. The puffer-fish's body deformed as it shrieked with blood coming out it's mouth. The snake opened it's mouth before taking a huge chunk out of it, causing it's body to deflate and die.

A huge snake, longer but 30% the body size, destroyed a few devour snakes as it attempted to coil around the sea urchin. The attacks of the smaller creatures were insignificant, so all the snakes combined into one, which was 60% the diameter of the sea urchin in width, but nearly a thousand meters long.

The devour snake bit into the side of the snake, causing it to stop and furiously roar in pain. A huge chunk was bit out, and the snake tried to flee. It's chance wasn't given, as the devour snake bit it in half, causing the snake to wiggle around in the water, with no control. The devour snake slammed it's head into it's body, causing it to collide with the ground, falling unconscious.

Seeing the two largest creatures fall, the morale of the little ones quickly fell as they flee'd with their life. The devour snake split into smaller pieces again and chased after all the ones that hadn't ran too far off. Eventually, the fighting came to a stop, ending in a victory for the sea urchin. Over 700 creatures had died, with around 200 escaping. Foggy blood and flesh covered the area around the flood dragon, but was quickly absorbed.

All the blood essence and bodies were quickly pulled into the mouth of the creature, as it let out a burp. It's body rested atop the hole of the flood dragon, as it slowly enjoyed the meal in the darkness.
