They call this a lucky encounter? It's just a shortcut that almost killed me, I don't need the heavens to bless me, I'm sick of all those gods. They're probably just scared that I'll side with some devils, but they don't have to worry. I'll only side with myself, I'll kill anything that's in my way until I've made sure that there's no one above me.
Okay, but I'm still weak now. Let's try my skills on a unlucky victim first.
I fly up and I'm amazed by my speed, after some calculations I am amazed again. I can fly about 25km/h, which is over 10 times as fast as before.
After getting used to my speed again I start seeking a beetle with a thick carapace, with my new speed I found a perfect one in under 15 minutes.
It was brown and rather dull, but it's about 4cm long and pretty wide. I don't even want to know how many more times heavy it is compared to me. But it's a great target to test my claws, it doesn't have wings and has a huge blind spot behind him.
I'm in his blind spot already, he hasn't noticed me yet. I extend both my claws in front of me, I'll hit one in the middle of his carapace and one right at the point where the lower half meets the upper half.
I fly into it at practically full speed, both my claws go in, the one on the joint place goes right in with practically no resistance, the other one goes in with quite some resistance, but it goes in nonetheless.
I pull them out and fly back quickly, at that moment the beetle literally falls into the ground. What happened? Why did it happen? Why did he need to do this? Now I have no way of knowing what the venom does! You stupid beetle, why did you do that!?
My wings start to give of red light in anger and annoyance. Why does everything in this world try to make it hard on me!? I can see a red light under the ground and I get a feel for it, as I focus on the light I start to see more of it. It's the blood that flowed out of the stupid beetle, I get a sense for it and the size of what's under my control increases. I start to see a dim glow in the shape of the bug. I imagine the blood flowing under it and push it upwards, and the blood actually does what I imagined it to do.
In a short moment the bug is laying in front of me, its mouth is foaming. I think that's part of my venom, but there are many types of venom that makes a mouths foam, and I don't know much about insect biology. So I'm not sure what kind of venom I use, but it is lethal, just the difference in size between me and this stupid earth bending bug is massive, and for me to kill it in moments is astonishing. So, let's check the next things.
"Did I level up?"
[Tiger venom claw: +1]
I didn't level up? Maybe if I drink it's blood? I fly to its neck and stab my mouth in the joint between the head and body, and I drink its blood.
I think I've been drinking for 5 minutes by now and it finally starting to run dry.
"What is my level up now?"
"4/50"
Okay, so I leveled up 4 times. But I don't want levels like this, I feel like low quality blood like this will stump my growth on the long run, I need to find a way to determine the blood quality before I drink it. And there's only one way to make sure of it quickly.
"System, how do I determine blood quality before I engage in battle?"
[Mosquito instincts changes the smell of a creature to indicate its blood's quality. A powerful creature with great affinity with you will smell so appetizing that you might not think straight. A low quality creature with low affinity will smell bad. So as long as it's inside of your detection dome you will know.]
So that's why I couldn't stop myself from drinking the tiger's blood. And I didn't feel much with this beetle, I guess it was just okay.
So my levels are more of a limitation than something I just need to fill up. I need to gain the greatest quality of blood, I need to get as much blood essence as I can get. I want to become truly powerful, I couldn't even look at her without being paralyzed. I can't take it easy and drink blood from weak bugs like this, I need to take the hardest road to gain true power.
"System, how do I know if a creature had blood essence and how can I isolate it and only drink that?"
[If you kill the opponent and control all of its blood you will be able to isolate the blood essence and only absorb that. If your blood control level is high enough it can work together with detection dome to show the presence of blood essence in creatures.]
So I need to train my blood control and detection dome. I don't know how to increase my detection dome, but tiger venom claw leveled up with use and killing a creature. So it's the usage or the death it causes, it might be dependent on skills though.
I drank all this beetle's blood, so I need to kill something big again. Well, everything over 2cm is really big for me.
