At this exact moment Salvatore was on his knees, with a river of tears pouring from his eyes, as he stared at the sky, lamenting the lost of his PRIDE with every fiber of his being, realizing, no longer would he hear women gasp in surprise as he revealed the supreme majesty of his pride.
No longer would he hear women say they were completely full, only to then see them gasp in surprise when he replied with a roguish grin, "But I'm only halfway in."
No longer would he hear the moans a women makes when she reaches the very peak of pleasure after having been taken to heaven and back again multiple times.
And most importantly, no longer would he be able to see a woman wear that particular expression that only a select few men were privilege to bestow upon whosoever they choose, a look of total satisfaction.
As he wallowed in self-pity at his lose all of a sudden he heard a oddly familiar high pitched scream of anguish echo across the valley. Looking up, he suddenly realized that he strangely felt a great deal of sympathy for the creature who had made that horrible cry of distress.
Returning to his troubled thoughts, his sluggish mind slowly searched for the cause of his current condition. Like a sheep herder without a dog, his lethargic thoughts slowly coalesced into a brilliant epiphany. Suddenly he stood up thinking, what if his weakened physical state was related to his "PRIDE'S" loss of...pride.
If they were both effected by the same thing then that could only be his stat points, meaning that if he raised his basic stats he might be able to regain his former pride, maybe even surpass its former glory reaching any even higher realm, a stage of pride never before seen by any other mans PRIDE before.
Realizing this, he arose filled with a burning desire to grind XP like no one had ever grinded before, desperate to quickly regain his former glory. His hope restored, he quickly shucked his PJ's while his mind made lightning quick decisions.
Assuming that he was in a game like world, typically after confirming your physical abilities and magical skills your next course of action would be to scout out your area and determine the key locations of your surroundings.
Looking at his surroundings Salvatore casually selected a nearby Stony Bark and began to climb it. Having spent a great deal of time climbing bare handed up cliff sides smooth as glass, in order to infiltrate into many targets private mansions and strongholds, Salvatore had fully mastered the art of climbing. So for him to climb a massive tree covered in multiple handholds was a piece of cake.
However by the time he had climbed roughly 1/10 the way up he was already breathing heavily, 2/10 and his hands and arms began to weaken, by the time he was 3/10's of the way up he was bordering on complete exhaustion. Collapsing heavily on a 5 foot wide tree branch, covered in sweat, Salvatore finally began to realized how greatly his low stats affected his physical capabilities.
Luckily he had managed to struggle to a decent enough height to view a suitable distance throughout the Valley. As he leaned his weary shoulder against the thick trunk of the Stony Bark, he stood atop the wide branch, gazing across the valleys magnificent forest.
Captivated by the intrinsic beauty of the Valley's natural features, Salvatore inhaled a revitalizing breath of the cleanest air his lungs had ever encountered, while he observed the many towering mountain peaks that surrounded the valley like an immense rocky rampart, secluding the Valley from the outside world.
Making a rough estimate, due to his greatly reduce vision, it appeared the valley was at least as big as central park although he figured it was probably several times larger.
Opening his map, he checked to see if the revealed area had expanded, however sadly despite being able to see a larger area from the treetop it had had no effect on the map. Seeing this he guessed that the map required him to physically venture into uncharted territory, and would expand within a certain range around him as he traveled throughout the world.
Realizing that his map was currently useless for scouting, he dismissed it with a thought, and returned to using the scouts infallible age old tool for gathering reconnaissance data, his eyes.
However as the dark screen disappeared he suddenly had a brilliant idea. Opening the map, he activated his mini-map feature, then entering free-fly mode, rotated the view directly behind his head, like a vehicles backup camera.
Now with a literal pair of eyes in the back of his head he would be able to see directly behind him, making it much harder for anyone or thing to sneak up on him. And although the range was limited it would still provide a slight advantage.
As he silently peered across the Valley, atop his lofty position, he suddenly noticed some blurry shapes moving to the north of him. Sweeping his gaze across the rest of Valley for anymore signs of life, he remain silent and still, like a hunting predator, atop the wide tree branch, for roughly another hour. Failing to discover any other signs of movement he slowly descended the tree, being careful to make as little noise as possible.
Reaching the ground breathless he rested for a few minutes before deciding it was time to venture out into the Valley filled with unknown danger and promptly set off in the direction of those creatures he had seen.
