Unknown to her Reen was in fact quite angry at Chad because of hurting her best friend while feeling a little bit upset towards Mirly as the time she needed someone to talk to she did not asked for her help or talked to her.
She knew she had forgotten about their past when she had her short term memory loss and it would be useless even if she shared anything to her but this still upset her which she knew was wrong but she just couldn't help feeling that way.
Reen did not tell her straight that what she was feeling was the abundant love she had for him, this was also one of her little revenge for the both of them. But knowing that they deeply love each other even if she did not tell it to her straight she still made ways with the help of Wisteria and Hue for them to talk it out themselves.
Reen also felt that if Mirly did not hear it from Chad himself Mirly would not believe her because she knows how Mirly overestimates herself when it comes to such things.
Mirly may be perceptive to other people's feelings but she was surely slow when it came to her own. The love given by the Naide's and her friends were different and she never related it with how a man could love a woman.
Back to Mirly's thoughts, Mirly didn't believe a person could love her for who she was as she was simply different from normal girls… her family… her friends… even herself yet once he said those words it was as though a sun had finally come after a devastating and stormy rain and everything became brighter and clearer.
While Mirly was thinking these things, Chad on the other hand was thinking about their current situation.
He never regretted that at that time he chose his career over her but what he did regret was that he was unable to confess his feeling to Mirly, his confession now was his way of letting his feeling lie but he only realized how wrong he was when those three words were spoken, he was so scared of Mirly's rejection as his heart slowly broke into pieces the more silent she was.
It was then he knew that regardless if Mirly rejected him or not he knew that Mirly was the one he wanted to be with when he gets old and wrinkly. Even if she rejected him he knew he could never love another as much as how he loves her.
But hearing her words of "I love you" made him feel as though he was floating, it gave him an unbelievable and incredible feeling that he could not describe with words.
