"Great job!" Azora shouted and flashed a thumbs up. "Get back inside as soon as you can stand. The pool behind the throne will heal your wounds faster."
Matthaus and Vice took a few minutes to crawl back into the cathedral cursing at each other as they did so.
Azora turned to me and Erriana, "Show us what you've got!" She encouraged us.
We walked out to the field. I glanced at Erriana, she didn't have any weapons with her.
"Are you a mage?" I asked her, biting my tongue. It felt wrong to pry information from my opponent.
"Nah. Not really." she said, yawning.
Maybe I have a chance, she doesn't seem special. No weapons, no magic, and she is sleepy. If it's a fist fight, I could win. She was younger and smaller than me. I have fought enough times after getting caught stealing from people. I have a shot! Issac thought to himself.
Although he felt guilty for thinking this way, he never hit a girl before. He wondered to himself if he should hold back? He realized that this was impossible after seeing the pervious fight.
They found a spot that was not damaged by the other two. Issac was glad he didn't have to face them. He shuddered at the thought.
"When do we start?" She asked, tilting her head. Her arms behind her back.
"Why don't we follow their example. I agree to this duel." I said
"I agree to this duel." She rushed at me, hands still behind her back
"So fast!" I was stunned by her speed.
She jumped at Issac, hitting him with a flawless corkscrew kick to the side of his head.
He hit the ground hard, She waited for him, arms still behind her back. Issac rose slowly. His vision was blurry, and it was hard to stand up straight. Just one hit If he could just land one hit, he would keep some of his dignity.
"Are you okay Issac?" She asked.
"Ha, I don't think I could ever be ready for a fight like this." He said what he thought this whole time.
"That's too bad, do you want to stop then? I'm sleepy." She yawned again.
"Sorry Erriana, but I'm not ready to stop yet, your sleep will have to wait." I really didn't want to stop yet.
"Okay, you try to hit me then."
He dashed at her, she didn't move. He faked a left kick at her shin, and spun on his right. Using the momentum he aimed his right elbow at the side of her head. Her kick was too fast, as she hit him in the side. His blow was too slow to connect. He felt his ribs crack. Breathless he dropped to the ground again.
"Can we end this now?" She asked.
"No…" blood ran from the corners of his mouth.
CRASH! The back of her foot hit the top of his head. He lay still for a moment. Erianna started to walk away. Issac barely fought the urge to pass out, he was so ashamed. He managed to get to a knee. She looked back at him, and seemed annoyed. As she turned towards him though, he felt a sharp pain, and something wrapped around his ankle.
"Enough, Well done!" It was Azora, she dragged Issac across the field by his ankle with her whip. He looked at her back, The whip's handle was in her hand as she pulled him along like a garbage bag. That's how he felt, like garbage.
"We have some work to do." She said looking back at him.
I have work to do? So much for someone admitting their mistake. Looks like I'm stuck with these beasts. A very weak laugh came out of Issacs mouth.
That was the last thing he remembered before he passed out.
