Chapter 37 - The Mage Guilds Influence

Having registered at the sleeping quarters of the rest town on the 4'th floor, Poe, Lucia and Ivy made their way towards the place they would be staying for the next few days.

The sleeping quarters at the 4'th looked better than the sleeping quarters of the 3'rd floor. The reason was quite simple. Instead of just mattresses spread out in a giant hall, here you got rooms and beds to sleep in.

The room Poe, Lucia and Ivy was assigned to was a 4 man room with 4 beds in it, but it looked like they got it for themselves.

The room itself was quite cozy and Poe jumped on the bed when they got there. The pillows was indeed fluffy and Poe really loved laying in a fluffy place… for reason…

After having finished inspecting the bedroom and having put up the stuff they came with, Poe decided it was time for lunch and really wanted to see the café on this floor.

Walking along the streets of the rest town of floor number 4. One of the first things Poe noticed was the people present. There was many people on the 4'th floor and not just a lot, but a swarm.

On the 3'rd floor there might have been a few 100 or so people and there was only 1 café and 1 other place to buy food there…

The 4'th floor on the other hand? Just walking along the street in the rest town made Poe see the difference. There were shops for clothes and café's along the way, just the amount of shops present blew Poe's little mind.

They had only walked for a few minutes, but Poe had already spotted more than 10 clothing shops! Why the need for clothing shops in a training ground?

When Poe asked Lucia about this, Poe got quite shocked at the answer. Apparently, the 4'th floor was used as a vacation spot! How did this place, supposed to train the new trainees of the mage guild turn into a must visit vacation spot!?

The training ground that the rumored royal princess went to was apparently the one that Poe, Lucia and Ivy went to...

Apparently, her royal highness thought the place was too boring and therefore got the support of the female mages, who hold power in the mage guild and renovated the 4'th floor…

Poe thought it was weird for the mage guild to renovate the entire training ground, just because it was ugly and not a fun place to stay; it was a training place after all.

On the way around the town, Poe decided to ask Lucia about it and got a splendid answer.

"The mage guild mostly have girls and almost all princesses and queens from royal families and noble ladies become mages, so they tend to decorate all the places that the mage guild controls. To make things better they love to spread the beauty of art, music, magic and does many other things, like reworking a city to make it look better. That is mainly what the mage guild is known for!"

What sort of place was the mage guild?

"B-but, does the warrior guild or other guilds not say anything about it? Maybe trying to stop them if they suddenly decides to rework an entire city, just to make it look better? After all the mage guild is only one guild and they should not be able to spread their beliefs with other guilds around."

Thinking about it, Poe thought it was right, the mage guild might be one of the biggest guilds on the level of the warrior guild, but it should not be able to ignore the other guilds, but it was here Poe was wrong again.

"The other guilds and clans, like the warriors guild will mostly do whatever the mage guild says and the reason for this is quite simple. The mage guild can be called one of the top 5 guilds, but it still has around 90 - 95 % females. In other words, it is almost only girls controlling the guild. Take the current guild master of the warrior guild as an example. His wife is also part of the mage guild's upper echelon and if the mage guild wanted to work on a place inside the warrior guilds sphere of influence, the mage guild could ask her for a little help in "convincing" her husband to allow the mage guild to make the changes."

After having explained a little more about the mage guild and its scary network, Poe understood a little more about the world. From the looks of it, there existed many guilds, but only the top 10 guild or clans could be counted as being the strongest.

From what Lucia said, Poe also understood what the top 10 guilds and clans were. They were:

The Mage Guild

The Warrior Guild

The Rouge Guild

The Elemental Guild

The Shadow Hand Guild

The Healer Guild

The Sword Clan

The Demon Clan

The Fire Clan

The Water Clan

There were of course other strong clans and guilds, but from Lucia said to Poe, these 10 could be called the strongest.

The mage guild influence also spanned from its close relationship with the healer guild and the elemental guild. The reason for this was them often sharing new spells and conducting experiments together. Together with their special relationship with the warrior guild, the mage guild had 3 of the top 10 guilds protecting them…

The only force that could compare was the alliance between the rouge guild, the shadow hand guild, the fire clan and the demon clan. Then again, they only banded together because they got a little scared of the mage guilds constant growing influence and were not that close to each other.

Thinking over what Lucia said, Poe started for the first time ever to wonder if she had some kind of special background to know about all this, but that thought was quickly pushed to the back of his mind as they arrived in front of a restaurant.
