Chapter 131 - The Destruction of the Machine

"You can't kill me... or I'll blow up the place with all of you inside!" The man laughed maniacally.

"No, you won't get the relief of killing me! No, you won't get the relief of killing me! I'll kill myself," the man mumbled as he held his head. He pressed a few buttons on his pad. (1)

The man went insane.

[You have two minutes to escape the area before the explosives utterly wipe out the warehouse]

"Shit," FBS Fulcron said as he strode to the stairs. The others felt a grasp of urgency and also ran towards the stairs.

The party followed FBS Fulcron. Emile picked up Veronica and put her on his shoulder.

The man walked to his machine and caressed it.

"We'll die together, I'll create you in my next life better than ever, and we'll destroy the entire world," the man murmured underneath his breath. He continued hugging and caressing the machine. The party wasn't there to witness this.

They were running up the dark and dreary steps.

"Wait, can't we use our Space Gems," Time Walker said as they ran up the stairs.

"Oh yeah," Emile said as he took out a space gem. He held onto Veronica with one hand and held the space gem in the other.

The party teleported back to White Star City.

"I love how we all forgot about Space Gems and began running," Scarlet Sunset said with a laugh.

The other party members laughed along.

They felt stressed out when they heard the location would explode, so they panicked and ran away.

The party remembered the Space Gem after they ran. They had time to think about their surroundings and the items they had.

Now we wait for the quest to complete," Emile said. The party waited in silence hoping that the system wasn't bluffing.

Two minutes passed leading to the place to blow up like the system told them. Their quest was finished since the machine got destroyed by the explosion.

"We did it!" Emile said.

After a long fight, Emile felt that this was the best time to give the party rewards for their hard work.

"All right, I have a few rewards for you guys. It was the rewards for exploring the debris of Pyaka City," Emile said. He was delaying to give these items to the party. They were busy for the past few days, so these items were an attempt to make the party happier than before. Everyone loved rewards.

Emile took out the strength potions and presented them to the party.

"You guys can consume it to increase your strength by five."

"I don't need it," Scarlet Sunset said, "pay me 100 silver coins and you can have it."

"Uhh... all right," Emile replied. He was content that she wasn't eager to provide him the item for free. It was an equal deal in Emile's eyes. He didn't know the selling value of the strength potion. 100 silver coins seemed like a good trade, so he accepted.

Emile gave her 100 silver coins, and she gave him the potion.

"I also don't need it," Time Walker said as he waved the strength potion around.

"Let me have it," FBS Fulcron walked up to him and asked.

"Pay me 100 silver coins," Time Walker used the same strategy as Scarlet Sunset.

FBS Fulcron gave the money without complaints and drank both potions. Emile drank the two potions which gave him ten more strength.

The other party members drank their potion.

"All right, I'm going to get the rewards from the mayor," Emile said.

Emile split from his party. He headed to the mayor's office. After he arrived at the top floor, he noticed the mayor sitting with a perplexed face.

"Do you need help?" Emile asked. he asked the key question that lad to the most quests that are given.

"Yeah, I need manpower to get resources," the mayor said.

"You won't be able to help out unless you have lots of friends," the mayor said as he signed a few more papers.

"I have a guild," Emile said.

"How big can your guild be, it's barely been a day since you created it," the mayor said without staring up.

"I'm guessing you are not paying attention to the inner workings of the city?" Emile said. Lots of people came from different cities to join the guild. It was a big event, the mayor should know about it.

"I am... are you talking about the sudden influx of adventurers, or the popular merchant that passed by the city, or the..." the mayor blabbered on about the city to show his knowledge.

"I'm talking about the sudden influx of adventurers. A lot of them came to join my guild. I have around 300 individuals in my guild," Emile replied.

"Wow," the mayor responded.

"You're doing superb for a new adventurer and guild leader. All that reputation you've been building is coming into use," the mayor said.

Emile scratched his head as he laughed.

"You might be able to help me out today. I need you to command your guild to hunt certain mobs and get their materials. The people working on rebuilding will utilize these materials to help the revival of Pyaka City," the mayor said as he clutched his hands and peered at Emile.

"What do we need to do?" Emile asked.

"We have a sufficient amount of people chopping trees and mining steels. Your guild can get lots of hides and meat for the group working to rebuild the city," the mayor said.

[Quest: Gathering Materials]

[Objctive: Get 2000 Leather, 1000 Beef]

[Comment: You're doing a noble cause, maybe they'll remember you in the history of the city]

[Difficulty: Dependent on the number of players]

[Progress: 0/2000 Leather, 0/1000 Beef]

[Time Limit: Indefinite]

[Reward: Guild Fame and Coins]

"All right, I'll be sure to help you out," Emile said. He accepted the quest with an open heart.

The mayor continued working as he proceeded to ignore Emile.

"What about my rewards," Emile said after a fake cough.

"Rewards?" The mayor asked. He was confused about what Emile was referring to.

"The rewards for destroying the machine that slaughtered Pyaka City," Emile said.

"You destroyed it?" The mayor asked. His voice had an enormous amount of excitement. Emile hadn't heard the mayor this excited before.

"Yep!" Emile replied with pride.

"I don't think I'm worthy enough to give you your rewards, I'll ask the Sun Point Region to determine your rewards," the mayor said with a shaky voice. The rewards would come from a giant region of land which would have lots of different items.

"All right, I can wait for my rewards," Emile said.

"I really don't know how to thank you for all of your help. If your guild ever needs help, I'm always willing to help you," the mayor said as he put his hand on his chest.

"All right, I'll remember your promise. I'll be leaving now. Have a good day," Emile said as he walked back into the elevator.

He walked away from the mayor's tower. The party was busy exploring the city and buying stuff. Some were grinding on the mobs outside of the city.

"Guys, we got another quest. This time it's for all the guild members that we have," Emile said in the party chat.

"What do the guild members have to do for the quest," Flower Queen asked.

Instead of replying, Emile shared the quest with her. Actions speak louder than words.

"I see," Flower Queen said.

"You'll have to make an announcement to the guild members," Nimble Rod said. He was glad that he wasn't a guild leader or else he would be embarrassed to death.

"Yeah," Emile said.

"Tell them to meet up at a location and then give a speech," Scarlet Sunset said.

"Any guild members of Nature's Wrath, please come to White Star City. Stay near the teleporter and wait for further instructions," Emile typed in the guild chat.

"And now we wait," Emile said as he approached the teleporter. He felt nervous. talking to his guild members was going to be the first obstacle to becoming a great guild leader.
