Players poured into the teleporter. Around 230 people arrived. The players that weren't here were offline or busy with other activities.
"Hey, this is our first time we ever met up."
"Yeah, Our guild seems big from a close distance."
"I hope they called us for a good reason."
The players whispered amongst each other.
"Go for it," Flower Queen whispered to Emile. Her words gave him further confidence.
"All right. Please remain silent for a short while," Emile said.
"I have called you here for one primary reason. I have a quest for all of you. The expedition will require the help of the entire guild. You'll get coins and guild fame on the bare minimum. If you do good, we will give you a piece of rare equipment," Emile said. He included the equipment benefit at the end to make the expedition more enticing.
They had some rare ranked equipment in stock, so they could afford to give out equipment.
Whispers spread throughout the area.
"Free rare equipment? How hard will it be to get the item?"
"Buddy, there's like 500 people here. Getting the equipment will be challenging." The person exaggerated the number of people to show how limited the odds of getting the items were.
"That's true..."
Emile shared the quest with the guild members present at the scene.
"Where do we find the animals to get these items?"
"Uhm...we need to head to Pyaka City. We'll find someone to hand the items to," Emile said. He assumed that there would be people collecting the items from them. He tried avoiding the question that the man asked.
"Follow me," Emile said to the guild as he began walking.
"Guys, we have a problem," Emile typed in the party chat.
"Let me guess, you don't know where to get the items or the animals, and need me to go to the library and research the item," Scarlet Sunset said.
"Yes please," Emile replied to Scarlet Sunset as he walked. The guild followed behind him.
"You need to be better at preparations," Scarlet Sunset said with a laugh.
Scarlet Sunset walked towards the library to find the information. People watched the guild make their first movements in the world.
Emile led the guild out of the city. He walked towards Pyaka City. The party walked slower to give Scarlet Sunset the time for her to research the items.
"I can't believe we have to walk slower to make preparations we didn't plan," Time Walker said as he shook his head.
"What can we do?" Emile asked as he walked. He felt dumb for not thinking through everything. The nervousness of talking to his guild made him forget to think things through.
They wanted to meet the guild members and continue on their quest for the first time as a guild.
"Next time, let's remember to have all the information in our hands before we undertake any action," Emile said as he walked.
"All right," the party said.
What Emile didn't know was that there was one party member who pondered about the preparations. They didn't mention it to Emile since the person wanted him to learn and think individually. It was an attempt to make him become more self-aware of what he has and what he doesn't have. That party member was Scarlet Sunset.
The guild continued walking. Emile had to speed up the pace since the guild was murmuring about the slow speed they were traveling at. It gave him anxiety.
The guild arrived at the remains of Pyaka City.
"As you can see, there's nothing left of the city," Emile said as he twirled his hand over the vast location of dirt.
In the distance, Emile spotted workers working on different things.
"You guys can stay here and wait, let me go and talk to the workers," Emile said.
He ran up to the workers and explained his situation.
"Your guild is here to help, eh?" a man with a red scar on his arm said.
"Yes," Emile replied.
"All right, my name is Jeremy!" The man said as he put his hand out.
Emile shook his hand and said, "my name is Mystical Flame."
Every time Emile had to mention his name, he would debate whether to use his real name or the in-game name.
The debate lasted a second or two in his mind before resolving on one option. If the person was an NPC or a player, he would use Mystical Flame. If he was familiar with the person, he would use Emile. Only his party and Severn knew about Emile's name.
Emile didn't know the names of most of his party.
Time Walker was Steve. Flower Queen was Lily. FBS Fulcron was Benjamin. Severn was Severn. Severn was an NPC, so he didn't have another name. He didn't know Scarlet Sunsets or Nimble Rods real name.
He always called them by their game names.
"Where should we hand the items when we get them?" Emile asked.
"You can pass them to me," Jeremy replied.
Emile thanked him before walking away. He was feeling nervous as he waited for Scarlet Sunset to reveal the information to him. He slowly walked back to the guild. And with a stroke of luck, he received a message from Scarlet Sunset.
"Emile, I got the information," Scarlet Sunset said. She was sitting in the Library with a book in her palms. Legs crossed as her crimson robe hung down the side of the chair.
"All right, tell me where to find the items," Emile said.
"Rodia Cows drops the items you require," Scarlet Sunset said.
"Where do we find Rodia Cows?" Emile asked.
"It's to the South of Pyaka City. Head south and you'll find the plains. In that plains is the roaming Rodia Cow," Scarlet Sunset said.
"Thanks a bunch. You're an absolute lifesaver," Emile said.
"I'm always a lifesaver," Scarlet Sunset said. She stood up from the chair and placed the book into the correct bookshelf and walked out of the library. She headed to Pyaka City.
Emile walked back to the guild.
"See that man over there, he'll take your loot," Emile pointed to Jeremy who waved at the crowd.
"Rodia Cows will drop the items that you're looking for," Emile said.
"If you head south of Pyaka city, you'll find the cows in the plains region," Emile continued.
He didn't know which direction was south. He took out his compass and figured it out.
"The Rodia Cows are in that direction. I wish you the best of luck in your hunting," Emile said to the guild. The guild split off into the directions he mentioned. There were a few players who stuck back and explored the camp that had the workers.
Emile joined these people to see how the preparations were going. He also wanted information on how long it would take for the workers to finish.
"What do these workers do," Emile asked.
"They're rebuilding the building floor and roads to go down onto the ground," Jeremy said.
"How long will that take," Emile asked.
"A week or two," Jeremy said.
"A week or two?!?!! That sounds like a tiny amount of time," Emile exclaimed with admiration. The game was far behind in the technology standpoint when compared to the real world.
Emile felt surprised that the game had enough resources to complete the entire city road and flooring in one to two weeks. He knew about the real-life counterpart of the item.
"How would you do that?" Emile asked.
"Manpower and tools. We have lots of trained people who are fast workers, and we have tools to place the roads within a few minutes. It's as easy as that. I have no clue how the tools work," Jeremy said with a laugh.
"All right, I'll continue looking around to see what this place has to offer," Emile said as he walked away.
The guild was making their way the south of Pyaka City.
