Chapter 82 - Killing the Bosses

Attacks rained down by his sides. Emile would stop whenever he sensed an attack that would land in front of him. He paid attention to the attacks that landed near him. If it was an attack that would cause an explosion, he would move out of the way.

If the attack didn't cause any damage to the surroundings, then he would ignore it. His mind had to focus on many aspects.

The first boss continued roaring. Emile would jump over the shockwaves like how Mario jumps over an incoming red Koopa shell.

The lucky aspect about this fight was that the bosses were both visible in his eyes, so he could see when the first bosses shockwave arrived near him.

If the boss wasn't in his view, then dodging would become even more challenging. It was already tough enough to dodge attacks from the sky and lead over attacks from the ground.

If the attacks happened at the same time, he would be screwed. He couldn't allow any of the sky attacks to come near him while the shockwave was passing beneath him.

Emile attacked the second boss. He realized that the boss had a margin of control on the attack.

The attacks were a common sight when in the vicinity of the boss. The boss allowed more elements to fall near it. A player would have a harder time when approaching the boss.

A normal player would have long since died due to the randomness of the attack. Only luck could save them.

Emile wasn't a normal player. He had a martial background.

Paying attention to their surroundings was a universal skill. Most players don't improve their ability to view the surroundings.

Fighting forced Martial Artists to improve their perception of the world since attacks could pop out of nowhere. If they don't follow certain body cues, they won't know which attack the opponent was preparing.

Since Martial Artists always fought, their sensory abilities grew with their strength. Emile's sensory skills allowed him to approach the second boss even if the rate of attacks were much more frequent.

Emile attacked the boss while circling around it. He had to move without stopping to evade the sky attacks.

The shockwaves from the first boss traveled here. The shockwaves avoided the boss since the other boss knew how to control his attacks.

Emile continued to jump over these shockwaves with somersaults and other aerobic movements. Whenever there was an opening he would attack the second boss. These opening took time to look for since the sheer number of attacks created a type barrier.

Emile would attack the boss once and retreat using the same method. He couldn't stay close to the boss for too long since it launched attacks next to it.

Emile would still use his gem on the boss. The second boss arrived at 1% of its health.

Emile didn't want to kill it since he knew the effects of killing the boss. The 1st boss would grow stronger by at least a fold, and he didn't want to face an upgraded great chief boss.

Emile moved out the range and ran towards the other boss. He understood that the skill would last forever. This was the last stage of the fight.

Emile leaped over all the shockwaves while dodging the attacks from the sky. He grew closer. He couldn't travel at full speed since he needed to be wary.

Emile leaped over the shockwaves and attacked the boss. The shockwaves required skill and focus to dodge.

He approached the boss and attacked it again.

He could only go near the boss after a shockwave since it had a small gap where it wouldn't create any shockwaves. This gap was vital for Emile to approach the boss and slash at it.

Emile lowered the bosses health one attack at a time. He used his gems on this boss whenever it was out of cooldown. It arrived at 1% of its health. Emile had to think of the best way to kill the bosses without them getting a buff.

Emile thought about using a long range attack on one boss and using a melee attack on the other boss to kill them together.

He cast Yin-Yang Blast at the second boss. And used his gems to finish the first boss. They died at the same time. Emile received a notification showing both deaths.

The dark clouds disappeared, and the meadow was back to its normal state. You couldn't tell that there was a large chaotic battle a few moments before. Emile gave out a breath of relief. They teleported him out.

Emile appeared back in the adventure guild.

"Congratulations," Stella said as he appeared in the Adventure Guild.

"How did you know I won," Emile asked.

"I was paying attention to your mission log and saw the completed mission tag for the third challenge," Stella said.

Emile spoke.

"It was challenging; I don-" Emile disappeared from sight. He never got to finish his sentence.

[We have detected severe weariness from the mind. Logging the user out and we recommend some much-needed rest]

The game logged Emile out. The bosses pushed his mind to the limit during that fight. There were many factors that could have gone wrong during the fight.

Emile had to focus on different cues throughout the fight. He would have died if he didn't focus on them. This consumed a lot of mental strength.

The game didn't log him out since he was in the middle of combat. It waited until the fight ended before he was forcefully logged out.

Emile felt the fatigue rush into him after they logged him out. He fell asleep whilst in the cabin.

Lily was still sitting in the Seraph library reading the books. She gained 16 intelligence by the time she finished reading all the books in the library. The librarian became good friends with her.

"Do you want another place that has lots of books," the Seraph asked.

"Yeah," Lily said. She was secretly a bookworm. She hadn't revealed this to anyone and that includes Emile.

"Grab my wings," the Seraph said.

Lily grabbed onto the wings and the Seraph soared into the skies.

"Wow." She exclaimed at the clouds that surrounded her. Sometimes they would fly over an opening and she could see the ground many miles below her.

"When I first learned to fly, I had the same feeling," the Seraph said with nostalgia in its voice. The Seraph brought her to a large palace.

She was lead into a palace. Lily didn't know this was where the king was slumbering in.

The other Seraphs didn't have access to this location. Only a few elders had access to the palace. This showed the importance of the palace.

The librarian is one. He led her into the palace's library. It had many more books than the library.

Lily's eyes glowed when she saw the library. She walked to the first book on a bookshelf, sat down on the floor and read it. The librarian didn't stop her.

The librarian took a book and read. It was a harmonious atmosphere.
