Chereads / Nirvana / Chapter 60 - Clearing the First Mission

Chapter 60 - Clearing the First Mission

Even though he felt despair he didn't stop his killing. He couldn't slow down for a single moment.

Emile remembered that one of the old helmets he used to wear had an AOE skill. It was the level 5 helmet which had Thorny Spikes.

Emile equipped his helmet while multitasking. He killed the mobs while retreating and equipped his helmet at the same time.

He activated the skill {Thorny Spikes}.

The spikes last for a decent amount of time. Emile set the spikes to surround him. The mobs ran across these spikes to attack him. They took damage from the spikes.

Emile could one-shot the mobs that came close to him since the spikes weakened them.

His efficiency increased.

Emile killed 92 goblins in 15 minutes. He had killed more than half of the mobs. He had 1 hour and 15 minutes to kill about 230 goblins.

The despair that Emile had disappeared. He switched out his helmet and continued attacking. He did less damage while wearing the other.

Emile thought he wouldn't have too much trouble when dealing with the rest of the goblins. He had the time. He had more than enough time to kill the goblins.

Emile continued killing.

An hour passed with him repeating the same thing. Emile felt tired. His arms always moved with no breaks. He hadn't experienced being too tired while playing the game. This was a first while playing Nirvana.

The average person wouldn't be able to last this long.

If Emile hadn't learned Martial Arts which increased his stamina, then he would have been too tired to continue.

Emile's efficiency decreased. His tiredness was affecting his movement. There were only around 20 goblins left.

Emile had 10 minutes to kill these goblins. If he was at his peak, then this would have been easy.

Emile never stopped; he wanted to finish this sooner than later. The goblins landed some hits on him. This didn't affect him too much. He used some of his skills to do more damage to the mobs.

Emile killed the rest of the goblins with 4 minutes to spare. He was teleported out of the grassy plains.

"You're back. You shouldn't overestimate yourself. I hope you learned something from that experience." Stella said in a lecturing tone.

"Uhh... what?" Emile looked at her as if she grew nine heads.

"The challenge mission. You shouldn't challenge it unless you have good equipment. Judging by your looks only some of your equipment could be considered good. I hope you learned from your loss." She assumed Emile failed. She was keen at judging people based on their attire.

"I completed the mission," Emile said calmly.

"Oh... that's good. Let me check your ID." Stella didn't seem to be shocked. It was only a probability in her eyes. He had a higher chance of failing than succeeding.

Emile handed her his ID.

"I activated the rewards system. You can gain your rewards as soon as you complete the mission." She said after typing a few things on her computer.

Emile received his ID and the rewards for completing the first challenge.

??? Medallion

Rank:???

It was a small medallion with a faded letter S on it.

Emile completed the first mission and received the fourth medallion. Emile didn't want to try out the second quest since he didn't trust his skills. He didn't want to overestimate himself or his capabilities so he didn't dare challenged two chief ranked monsters.

Emile noticed that 2 hours of in-game time had passed. William had left. He must have gone to do a mission.

Emile didn't know what else to do while in the city. The city was huge and it would take a long time to explore it and learn it's mysteries.

Emile wanted to do the daily things he has been doing. He looked for more Mythril in the Kantaro Mines. He got 4 more.

He now had 13 pieces of Mythril. Almost half of the amount he needs.

Emile checked his stats and noticed that his class and subclass was empty. He didn't want to get a class yet since he was waiting to complete the quests.

Emile decided to gain a sub class. He teleported back to the city.

The system asked Emile to make the city into his home city.

[Would you like to make this city your home city?]

Emile selected yes since there was no reason to. When he died, he would respawn back in White Star City.

Emile didn't know much about the cities geography. He knew where the teleporter and Adventure guild was. He walked around to see what he could find.

After a bit of walking, Emile walked into the market. He noticed that there were even fewer people in the market than the village's market.

He walked up to one of the people.

"Why is there so few people in this market," Emile asked.

"These people can't afford to set up an online stall, so they have to be here in person. You can buy a tablet that has the actual market," The man said.

His pioneer title effect was working the way it should. The NPC's were friendlier and gave good advice.

"You can buy a tablet from the government. Their building is the tallest building in the city. If you walk about 7 crossroads in that direction. You should see a giant building. HEad in and ask to purchase a tablet." The man said.

"Wow, thank you for your help," Emile said. He felt warm when knowing people would help him out when he was lost.

Emile followed the man's directions.

This took a decent amount of walking. He had walked past other buildings and other people. These people seemed to have a purpose of existence.

They were walking to the market if they weren't too rich, or were a wandering salesman trying to sell a product. Some walked and talked with their friends while others sat around while eating or drinking something.

It seemed like a normal day in the real world. Emile felt amazed by the realism. He never had the time to appreciate his surroundings before.

Emile was always busy doing quests or grinding. He was ahead of everyone for now so he didn't have to worry about grinding. He continued following the man's instructions.

In the distance, he could see a tall tower made of glass. It was easy to differentiate against the other towers since it stood much taller than the others.

Emile walked up to the tower and looked up. It was enormously tall. He hadn't seen such a tall building in close range. He had seen pictures of the tallest buildings but never up close.

Emile walked into the building and walked towards the reception desk. There was a man sitting there and typing.

Computer were used heavily in this city. It was a necessity for people. The technology was used majorly throughout the city. Even common people used it.

He walked up to the person and spoke to him.
