Chapter 61 - Checking out the Market

"Excuse me, sir... Is this where I can buy a tablet?" Emile asked the man.

"Yes, the tablet costs one silver coin." The man said without batting an eye at Emile.

Emile took out a silver coin from his inventory and gave it to the man. The man accepted the coin. He took out a tablet

Emile wanted to figure out how the tablet functioned without other's help. Everything he has done up to this point has been with the help of someone. He didn't want to be baby walked through everything new.

There was a lounge in this building.

Emile sat on a seat and used the tablet. It didn't take long for Emile to understand how it works.

The man who sat at the desk didn't disturb him. He was the only person sitting in the lounge.

It worked like other tablets that existed in the real world. This was Emile's first connection to the internet of this world.

The tablet had lots of information about this city and world.

They called the world Liguria.

Emile remembered seeing that the world had a different name. He didn't remember the name of the world when they mentioned it in the village. It was weird for the world to have another name.

This was the only thought Emile had when looking through the information. He didn't why there were contradictions in common knowledge.

The world was strange since it had different names in different locations. Emile didn't feel too bothered by it and continued looking through the tablet.

He noticed that there was the market option. He clicked on the market

In the market, he could see the analytics of different shops. It recommended the most popular stores. There was also a search option to search for specific items or stores.

Emile looked through some of these shops. He took notice of the alchemist shop which he checked out.

Alchemist Store

Tiny Health Potion - 10 copper coins

Medium Health Potion - 100 copper coins

Big Health Potion - 1 silver coin

Giant Health Potion - 10 silver coins

Tiny Mana Potion - 10 copper coins

Medium Mana Potion - 90 copper coins (10% discount)

Big Mana Potion - 1 silver coin

Giant Mana Potion - 9 silver coins (10% discount)

Cleansing Potion- 500 copper coins

...

The store had many potions in stock. These potions would come in handy since players would always need to use potions. All activities that involved combat would require health potions.

Emile noticed that he had 1 gold coin and a decent amount of silver coins.

Emile bought one of each health and mana potion.

He identified each one.

Tiny potions restored 100 hp and 100 mp.

Medium potions restored 500 hp and 500 mp.

Big potions restored 2,500 hp and 2,500 mp.

Giant potions restored 10,000 hp and 10,000 mp.

Emile only needs medium and tiny portions. He bought 100 tiny health and mana potions. This cost him 2 silver coins.

He also bought 100 medium health and mana potions. These potions cost him 19 silver coins since there was a discount on the medium.

Emile checked the other shops. There was a blacksmith shop as well which sold armor and weapons. These armors went up to Red Silver which surprised Emile. Players could buy Red Silver items anytime they wanted as long as they had the money.

The bad part was that the minimum to buy these items were 10 gold coins. This meant that Emile couldn't buy any Red Silver items. Very few guilds would be able to amass this much gold in this stage of the game.

The guilds had no ways of earning money other than hunting mobs and bosses.

Emile noticed that the Red Silver items were all unique meaning that there was only one of that item. There would be a craze for these Red Silver items when players find out about it.

Emile looked through other items in the store and wanted to buy a better pair of pants for himself. His pants were level 3 pants. He wanted pants were at least level 10 and had the rare rarity.

Emile used the search option to categorize the items he wanted. He used the categories of level 10 and rare rank. He looked through the different pants that appeared.

Emile wanted pants that gave him the high strength with high spirit. He wanted pants dedicated to attacking. He didn't want his fights to take too long.

Emile saw one of these pants that suited him perfectly.

Sirloin Pants

A pair of pants named after food.

Level Requirement: 10

Rank: Rare

Strength +20

Spirit +19

Vitality +12

Skills: {Oxygen Engulf}

Oxygen Engulf

Gathers oxygen near the user. Causes flames to become stronger. All fire-related attacks do 25% more damage.

Passive Skill

This was perfect for Emile.

It cost 600 silver coins which were cheaper than most rare ranked items. A niche category of people could use the skill effectively.

Emile equipped this item.

Equipping this broke the 100 stat barrier for his vitality stat. The system asked him to receive another buff.

Emile increased his overall health by 5%. His health surpassed 1000. He was like a tank with loads of health.

Only top-tier tanks had over 100 vitality. They had to be equipped with rare ranked items or they wouldn't have this much vitality.

Emile now had two stats over 100. He continued looking through the market to spot anything of interest.

Emile remembered about Meteorite Dust. He searched for it in the market.

Excitement ran through Emile when he saw meteorite dust. Emile wanted to buy it so he tapped on it. He saw they were selling the dust for 100 gold coins.

His hopes ran dry. Getting this much gold would take a lot of luck.

Emile thought about going back to the arena to gain this much gold. He hoped that there would be people selling meteorite dust for less. He couldn't find any more dust other than the one that cost 100 gold coins.

Emile didn't know many other ways to earn coins.

The elevator doors opened. It revealed a person wearing a suit coming down. The person seemed to be stressed. They had a letter in their hand.

"Hey, where all the delivery boys," The man asked the person sitting in the counter.

Tha man sitting at the desk looked over. He stood up and responded to the man wearing the suit.

"Nice to meet you, sir. The delivery boys are busy delivering or having a day off. None of them are free. Sir." The man spoke in a professional tone.

The man continued to think about what he should do about this situation.

"Get someone who is free. I have an important letter to deliver." The man said.

The man yelled out their last sentence.

Emile was disrupted by his yell. He discerned that the man needed help.

Emile saw this as an opportunity to gain a quest. He walked up to the man and spoke.

"Sir, I'm free right now. I can help you out." Emile walked up to him and gave him an invitation to help him out.

The man didn't know if he should trust Emile. The man would have rejected him if it wasn't for his title.

His title allowed the man to recognize him as the first person to enter a city which caused a bit of trust to develop.

The man had to trust Emile to deliver the letter.

"All right, deliver this letter to the Guild Leader of the Alchemist Guild." The man said while handing him the letter.

"You can find the Alchemist Guild if you walk three crossroads to the left of this building. It's a big building with a sign that says 'Alchemist Guild' so it shouldn't be too difficult to spot it." The man said to Emile.

Emile received a quest.
