Chapter 13 - Undercurrent (part 2)

The day after the incident all of the trainees returned with smiles on their faces. They had managed to become LVL 5's and had passed the test fairly easy. The children were not aware of the problems they had on the east side and the elders wanted to keep it that way.

"Where is Bhirl and Rahz have they not comeback yet?" asked one of the children.

All the children started to look around in order to find them but they quickly realized that they were nowhere to be found. When a commotion started to happen among the trainees, the supreme elder step in and let them know that Bhirl and Rahz had passed the test the previous day and that they were already in their homes.

The elder wanted to stop the questions, he proceeded to do close up ceremony.

" I am Very proud of each and everyone of you. Now that you have graduated from the special training and have reached LvL 5, you are able to join in with the other Warriors in the morning training".

"In Three days we will meet back in the training grounds where you will be split in groups of threes to carry out task for the village. Since there are 10 of you, one group will consist of 4 people or one person can join a previous seasons that are in need of members. If you can't decided among your yourself, we will do it for you. Now you can go to elder Wolf to received the payment from the pelts and silk".

" Please use the next three days to decided on who to group with".

When all the children dispersed from the training grounds, they quickly rushed to Bhirl's house.

In a cave 100 miles South of the village , 4 people sat around a stone table. In the middle of the table there was a chunk of ore the size of a fist. The Ore was dark grey in color with little bright silver speckles throughout. The bright spots made it so that depending on how you look at the ore it will shine or be opaque.

"Have you confirm the size of the mine?".

"Not yet but I can say with certainty that is at least 20 miles in diameter. The supply is very deep inside the tunnels made by the Kobolds and only the leaders seem to have it. I am pretty sure the king's room must be fill with it. Lucky for us the Barbarians only seemed to hunt the Kobolds outside the mine that only seem to carry copper".

"Either way there is no way for us to take control over the mine without taking over the area. Hopefully, Legolas managed to accomplish his task".

The Four individuals continued with their discussions for a while waiting for the fifth member to arrived with the good news. After a while, a pretty young individual came into the cave. He had shoulder length black hair, his front hair was tied up at the back so that it wouldn't get in his face during missions and his hair at the back, drape over his shoulders. His skin had a grayish undertone and shining Red eyes. He was pretty good looking despite the rareness of his appearance. Legolas had 2 short swords, one at each side of his waist and was carrying a bow across his back.

"Is it done?".

"Nope. The intelligence was wrong, they either had more people assigned to protect the children or something happened because the bear I sent to distract that Shaman didn't last long and by the time the Frostsaber attacked he was already there to defend the kid. I used a Frostwolf Arrow as we agreed so we have to go with plan B for now".

Back at Bhirl house, it was pretty lively. Most of the children in their training group took a chance and asked him to form a team but Bhirl refused all of them but Blaire. To make a balance team there was a need for a guardian, somebody that could absorb damage for the rest of the party and could keep the attention of the enemy on them so that the rest could do their job. Bhirl filled this position so there was no need to join with the other Guardian in their group of trainees.

The second position in a balance team should be given to a healer class. This class was very important due to the injuries that will happen during the different missions . Healers also strengthen their allies by providing temporal enhancements to the team such as increased strength and toughness or as seen during training they could weaken their enemies as well.

In Helgahvall, the majority of the tasks available were carry out by a three member team. Bhirl knew before hand that sooner or later they had to make a team so he paid close attention to the other trainees during the special training. From the Healer path, Bhirl chose to go with Blaire. She displayed wonderful timing during the use of her skills and she wasn't afraid to get down and dirty during a fight.

The final component of a balance team was a Damage Dealer. Damage Dealers were fighters that concentrated on inflicting physical or magical harm to their opponents in the most efficient way. If a team didn't have a Damage Dealer, they run the risk of being overwhelm by numbers on a task or not being able to kill an enemy before it runs away.

The energy of an awaken being was limited. If the awaken ran out of it during a long fight, the warrior ran the risk of dying to an enemy so killing a powerful foe as quickly as possible was a must.

For the spot of the Damage Dealer Bhirl decided to ask Rahz. Other people might think that he was the worst of this batch of trainees but Bhirl had experience the horrors of high level beasts and knew how amazing it was to take down one.

"So who is the last member going to be. I think we should pick up Arne his speed is getting very scary and his battle sense is top notch."

Bhirl shook his head and said " I am going to ask Rahz to join us".

Blaire was quite Baffle about Bhirl's decision but decided to not voice her opinion. In her eyes it didnt matter who the third person was as long as Bhirl was with them.

During the next couple of days, Bhirl visit Rahz to check on his condition and to talk about joining his team. Rahz was still unconscious but Etta was pretty happy about the fact that there was people coming to visit her son.

"Rahz should be waking up soon. His body is back to normal condition so is just a matter of time. you are welcome to wait for him if you would like, I am about to finish Dinner and there is more than enough for an extra person. You can tell us more about your experience during the test."

Bhirl nodded and proceeded to stay for dinner. The food smelled amazing and he was pretty hungry.

Midway through dinner, Rahz opened his eyes and looked around. His eyes were un focus at first but little by little everything started to come into view. Everything around him look very familiar and when the smell of his mother's cooking hit him, he realized that he was at home.

'How did I make it here?'

Very carefully Rahz started to stand up but found it very difficult. He had not moved his muscles for a couple of days and they just didn't respond the way he wanted them too. It took Rahz nearly 5 minutes to sit at the edge of his bed.

Etta heard noises coming from Rahz's room and quickly stood up. She rushed to her son's room and stood by the door. Etta looked at her precious son struggling to sit and couldn't help but smile.

Rahz finally looked up and saw the smiling face of his mother and said , " I am so Hungry."

HA HA!

Rhaen and Bhirl let out a very innocent laugh after hearing Rahz statement.

Rahz looked at the two approaching people and realized that one of them was Bhirl.

"What's up Bhirl, How come you are here?. Is the test over?"

"Looks like Rahz is still Rahz. Yes, the test finished two days ago. I came to let you know that you are on my team starting tomorrow. I have to get going now but ill see you at the training grounds. Thank you so much for dinner Mrs. Etta it was delicious."

Hmm...

Wait! Did I pass?
