Chapter 13 - Heart Meridian

Long Yang opened his eyes and got up. He looked around making sure that Xiao Hong had left. After making sure no one was nearby, Long Yang sat cross-legged on his bed, eyes closed. He started reciting a chant according to the 'Heavenly Dragon's Ascension' manual.

"Beneath the waves

Above the clouds

I live, I grow, I rule

The world is my domain

All shall kneel and obey

For I am a dragon!"

A tiny small vortex formed around Long Yang, small slivers of qi being absorbed into his body. He slowly stored them in his dantian, the qi slowly building up. After thirty minutes, the vortex dissipated.

Long Yang sat there still, unmoving like a statue. His eyes abruptly opened. His eyes were a amber orange while his pupils were vertical slits, just like a dragon's eyes. 'BREAK!'

Inside his body, his qi circulated around gathering towards the fifth primary meridian located in the heart. The qi burst forth like a powerful tsunami. The qi pushed the impurities and blockages outward, slowly but surely.

Long Yang started shaking all over as veins all over his body expanded clearing showing. His heart started pumping heavily as he clenched his teeth tightly. His face turned red as he continued pushing forward his qi, tears forming on the side of his eyes before a stream of tears flowed down his cheek.

'It hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts!'

After what felt like an eternity, his veins shrank back to normal and his heart stopped beating so heavily. Long Yang spat out a blackish red blob onto the floor in front of him. His vision grew hazy as he fell back onto his bed, his entire body covered in sweat.

Biting his lower lip, Long Yang started to tear up again, 'it hurts so much, at first, it was easy but it keeps taking longer and longer. I'm in so much pain, I don't want to do this anymore.'

He laid there for a short while before getting up. He walked up to the wall in front of his bed and yelled out loud, "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" Long Yang slammed his head into the wall. A small trickle of blood flowed down from his forehead, 'no, I have to do this, I don't want something like that to happen again.'

His right eye turned dark red. The door to his room burst open as Xiao Hong stepped in, "is everything okay!?"

The dark red color receded returning his eye to normal as he turned towards Xiao Hong. She gasped, "YANG'ER!" She rushed forward and held onto him, "what happened!? No, don't explain, just sit right here, I'll go get some help."

She rushed out of the room leaving Long Yang standing there speechless. He wryly smiled, 'Oops.'

After a two minute wait, his father, mother, Xiao Hong and an old man rushed into his room. The old man got down and checked Long Yang's pulse, his thin bony hand covered in a green light.

He got up and turned around to the three, "He's fine, other than a little bit of bleeding on the head, his body is in perfect shape. For now, I shall take my leave." The old man got up and left the room leaving Long Yang sitting there with his father, mother and Xiao Hong.

His mother hugged him, "oh Yang'er, thank goodness everything is alright. How did you get hurt?" She patted him all over and looked at him with relief and worry in her eyes, "Oh my poor child." She took out a handkerchief and wiped the blood away from his forehead.

Long Yang looked down, his eyes shifty as he kept silent. His hands clutched the sides of his shirt. His mother looked at him with even more worry than before, "Yang'er?"

His father started laughing abruptly, "Long Mei, the boy's fine, let's let him rest okay?" His mother frowned a little before getting up, "okay… listen, Yang'er if anything pops up, just holler or come to us. Your father and I can help with anything okay?"

Long Yang nodded, his head still down. His father walked up to him and rustled his hair, Long Yang looked up. His father smiled and winked. He crouched down and whispered, "looks like our little son is all grown up, he has his own secrets now."

He stood back up, "Xiao Hong, I'll trust him with you for now. I have to get back to the meeting, can't hold off on it for too long." He left the room, Long Mei following.

Xiao Hong picked Long Yang up and sat down with him on her lap, "I don't know what happened but know this, you can always trust your parents and I."

Long Yang nodded, his eyes flickered with emotion but he kept silent.
