After the small incident, Xiao Hong kept her eye on Long Yang for a while but eventually, all returned to normal. Long Yang kept on cultivating and cultivating when he had the chance. When he was not cultivating, he was spending time with his mother and Xiao Hong. On occasion, he would see his father but his father was usually occupied with clan business most of the time.
Flowers bloomed and withered, and within the blink of an eye, seven years had passed. A five-foot tall youth sat inside his room on his bed cross-legged. Letting out a turbid breath of air, he opened his hazel colored eyes and got up.
'I've opened up nine of my primary meridians, I only have three left until I can start working on my extraordinary meridians.' He let out a sigh, 'It took me almost two years to open my ninth primary meridian, and it's only going to take longer and longer.' He shook his head and walked outside his room.
Long Yang stood still, watching the cherry blossoms fall from the tree in his courtyard. The branches swayed from side to side to the breeze, 'It's been twelve years since I've reincarnated...'
A falling petal floated in front of him. Long Yang grabbed it out of the air, the petal now resting on his palm. His hand started glowing green as he clenched his fist, crushing the cherry petal.
Sounds of footsteps could be heard coming near the entrance of the courtyard. The green glow on his hand faded as he turned towards the entrance.
A young woman with rosy red lips smiled and waved with her small, jade-like hand at Long Yang, "Long Yang, are you ready? Today is a very special day!"
Long Yang smiled and waved back, "I'm ready, big sis Hong." He jogged over to her and hugged her. She smiled and hugged him back, "Today is a very big day! You've always been a smart child, I wonder what kind of Spirit soul you'll have."
She started walking towards the Long Clan's main hall situated northeast from the residences with Long Yang in hand. "Hey, Long Yang, what grade of Spirit soul do you think you'll get? Your father and mother both have Tier 8 Yellow grade Spirit souls, so you might even get a Tier 9 Spirit soul!"
Long Yang nodded and smiled, "Mmm." After passing by the clan practice field, they walked north, shortly arriving at the clan hall.
After entering, the two were greeted with a bustling scene. Everyone in the clan was present and watching, in the middle, eight different kids with similar heights stood. At the end of the hall, Long Yang's mother stood beside his father seated in the patriarch's seat. To the left and right of his father, were four middle-aged men seated on each side.
His father noticed him enter, he smiled and nodded at Long Yang. An old man approached the two, "Hello, Ms. Hong, Young Master Long Yang, Young Master is needed up at the stage right now, so if you may."
Xiao Hong looked at Long Yang and nodded, "go get them, Long Yang." Long Yang nodded and walked up to the old man. The old man started walking towards the center with Long Yang trailing behind. "Please stand over there," the old man pointed at the place beside the west most kid in the middle. Long Yang headed over, standing along with the eight other kids.
A bell rung out, the chatting stopped and everyone looked towards the middle. Long Yang's father got up, "It is time we begin the Long clan's Annual Spirit Awakening rites. Bring out the orb."
An old man brought a dark glassy orb to the center. Behind him was a youth holding onto a table. The youth placed the table down before the old man placed the orb carefully on the table. The old man looked towards Long Yang's father and after seeing that he nodded, the old man pulled out a list.
"First up is Feng An!" A tall bulky kid that looks like he was around the age of 16 stepped forward from the nine kids. He walked up to the orb. "Please place your hand onto the orb." He placed his hand on the orb causing it to glow bright white.
Feng An felt his heart thump, as well as a mystical feeling. As if there was something else present inside of him. A halo emerged from the orb, and then another, and then another until a total of seven halos were floating above the orb.
Gasping sounds could be heard from the spectators, one of the middle-aged men seated near the patriarch started laughing boisterously, "hahaha, you've done me proud An'er!" Feng An's face reddened, "father, you're embarrassing me..."
The man started laughing even louder, "The son of the Long clan's third elder should never feel embarrassed especially by something as small as this!"
Long Yang's father coughed, "alright, Long Man, settle down, we need to continue the ceremony."
Long Man smiled, "Alright, alright, Long Li, I'm just a bit ecstatic right now." Long Li let out a sigh, "continue on with the ceremony." The old man called out the next name and the ceremony continued until it was finally Long Yang's turn.
