Chapter 4 - Her Love

Five years before Spiritual leader Prajapati used to live in protected city Jabalpur. He was a prominent businessman and a Spiritual guide for masses. Bhadra was his right-hand man and closest friend.

Due to tension between science and spiritual factions some cults who wanted to gain more influence, in a disguised way started doing violent activities against the leaders and followers of spiritual group. Science faction and administrative department of the city still tried to be diplomatic and did not help them properly.

In a violent clash one night, Abhay's mother died trying to save Abhay. On the same night, spiritual leader Prajapati decided to stop all the idiotic clashes for power and moved away from the protected city with his group. Abhay was almost 5 years and Gauri was 3 years at that time.

Gauri always heard from her father and mother that Abhay's mother was a kindest and divine person who could ever be. This made her curious toward Abhay. With time as she saw him being serious and knowing that his mother is not there, she felt more sympathy and endearment toward him.

Abhay was always a serious type of boy and always analyzed things logically. Many kids will ask him questions on how to do things and he will explain them well. Gauri always felt proud of him that he was doing so well in his learnings. Although Abhay never responded to Gauri's affectionate talks and always try to remain alone.

Abhay's father once told her "Gauri! After his mother's death, he has become so solemn and has forgotten his childishness. Remain with him, don't leave him alone and tell him what is he missing." This was kind of an encouragement for Gauri and because of this reminder, she never felt sad due to the indifferent nature of Abhay.

Once Abhay was sitting on the banks of a lake. His expression peaceful and his hairs fluttering in the air. Gauri came and sat beside him. She looked at him and waited hoping he will talk but he stayed calm and it seemed he didn't even know if anyone else was also there. She said impatiently "Abhay! What are you doing here alone? Why not come and join me? Let us play something."

Abhay looked at her face which was full of expectation and eyes which were pleading. After few moments he turned and looked at the lake water and said "There is so much problem in the world. My mother was harmed by those rogues who call themselves the leaders of humanity and swindle the common people from their life. My only purpose is to make myself strong and I can't divert my attention."

Gauri asked "How is playing diverting attention? It can keep your mind fresh and also keeps your body fit."

Abhay said, "Looks like you are here to defeat me from your words."

Gauri, a girl of 7 felt sad and hurt on Abhay's response. She said with teary eyes "Why do you have to respond to me like that? That is also fine. If you want to be strong, I will also become strong and follow you to punish those people. Power of two will be better than that of one."

After that day Gauri started giving more time to her Yoga practice. She used to do the spiritual practice in morning and evening but after seven years, she started giving almost 12 hours of her daily time only for Yoga practice. And at the age of 8 itself, people started thinking that she will surpass her father by the age of 12.

In this age when people are more inclined toward the bullet guns and laser guns, Abhay is inclined toward sword and archery. he believes that Gun is not hard to learn, so he must perfect himself in traditional weapons because everything has its use at a particular time. This prompted Gauri also to learn swordsmanship and archery. The reason of Gauri was simple. It was because she wanted to be near Abhay and wished he will feel happy that someone is there.

At the age of 10, Gauri perfected the retraction stage of Yoga. She has developed the ability to be able to live for months without eating or drinking. She has developed greater resistance toward heat and cold. She can feel the smallest changes in nature. Just by touching she can understand the nature and qualities of anything. She has completely controlled her mind and senses. These qualities have also helped her in increasing her concentration and perception. She has become unrivaled swordsman and archer of spiritual group.

There is the only person she says that she can not defeat and that is Abhay. Many people asked Gauri to have a friendly dual with Abhay so that they can find out who is the number one but Gauri accepted her defeat. People didn't believe it but many said that she has lost herself due to her infatuation. Many people believe that Gauri is stronger than Abhay. Abhay seems indifferent to all these conjunctures of people.

People always see Gauri and Abhay together. In other words, Gauri follows Abhay. Whenever he is practicing, she is also present and practicing. Whenever he is meditating, she will also be meditating not far away. Whatever he thinks, but she has already become his companion in a way.

One day Her father was sitting in the lounge with his friend Bhadra. They were discussing something related to their coal mining and power plant business.

Bhadra said "Leader! I believe those Khristan cults are eyeing our land of Singrauli. There have been few incidents where they tried to create some accidents in our mines. They are also trying to disrupt our rail line connectivity projects for Jabalpur. There are similar issues by those Mughal groups as well."

Gauri also arrived during their discussion and was standing on the side and listening. She really can not understand why is it so important for some people to obstruct others when it is none of their business.

Their discussion continued for few hours and Gauri also listened intently. After some time leader Prajapati said making a stern face "Stop calling me a leader. We are family and act like one."

Bhadra laughed heartily and said "Don't worry. I will be the happiest by accepting Gauri as my daughter-in-law. Even if I call you the leader, I won't back out from such an amazing opportunity for my son." And he looked at Gauri.

Hearing Bhadra's words, Gauri felt shy and lowered her eyes to hide her blush.

Leader Prajapati looked at his daughter and asked gently "Gauri! How is your and Abhay's spiritual practice going? How is Abhay?"

Gauri looked at her father and then at Bhadra. The expectant look on their faces made Gauri sad and she said in a mournful voice "Looks like he does not care that I'm around. Yes, when there is some problem, he helps me. When I ask for something, he will bring it and also give me. But he never takes initiative to interact with anyone, even me."

Bhadra sighed and said "Gauri! Don't feel sad. His mother's death has taken a toll on his mind and emotions. His main aim has become to be stronger. He wishes to bring justice in the world and punish the evil." He looked at Gauri and said "You need to be patient with him. When a person is sad and angry, he can not feel any other emotion. He also feels annoyed if other people wish to get close to him. But one day when he comes out of his stupor, he will be gratified of the fact that you were with him in this journey. I also don't want anyone else other than you to be with him."

Gauri looked at the expectant face of Bhadra and smiling face of her father, she found more faith in her love. She thought, even if Abhay remains indifferent, she will always be there for him. her love will help make her will strong on the spiritual path.

When Gauri was at the age of 12, Abhay has reached 14, there was a debate organized in the Rudra Temple. Coincidentally Gauri and Abhay were leading two opposing teams. At that time Gauri has already entered conception stage of Yoga where any practitioner can live without food and drinks, can attain divine hearing and vision, can get unmatched body power, speed, and self-healing abilities.

Although Gauri has attained such a high level, she never shows off her capabilities to anyone and everyone can only guess. She has already surpassed her father who is in the stage of Conception but no one is aware.

The topic of debate is 'Science or spirituality' which discusses pros and cons of both and was suggested by leader Prajapati itself.

Abhay said "Science and spirituality both are important. Because spirituality centers on ourselves, our soul and our own attainment. But we also need to manage the social values and maintain the rules, so we certainly need the management and different technological equipment for that and it can be done by incorporating science. And this is our stance. Both need each other."

The view of Abhay's team was that spirituality and science both are incomplete alone and together they make a perfect combination.

"We don't agree that spirituality is incomplete without science. But we certainly believe that science needs spiritual thinkers to keep it from evil and destructive path." Such was the view of Gauri's team.

If we see the argument, we can say for sure that spirituality really does not need science because all the natural processes can be controlled and managed by spirituality. In fact, nature itself is the root of spirituality. So, for a spiritual practitioner, there is no need of science if he or she needs to. All food, health, and other things can be attained by physical work and without machines.

But if science has no spiritual thinking involved, it's inventions can be used for inhuman purposes and might wipe out the humanity.

All the observers understood this point. Both the teams kept putting the arguments to prove their point. Abhay proactively gave his views and put a strong front in the support of his view. Gauri mostly observed and let her team members put forth their point. She occasionally smiled when Abhay presented his views but never argued.

Abhay once argued, "We need water to irrigate and clothes to wear and all these can be accomplished by science and it's inventions." It was very easy for Gauri to prove this point wrong just by a flip of her finger which can bring rain or weave a cloth from a string but she did not want to prove him wrong.

Leader Prajapati and Bhadra looked at each other and smiled. it seemed like they understood Gauri's intention but did not say anything. Even they would not know what Gauri could do if she wanted to.

The arguments of the spiritual team were not strong enough and finally, Gauri said: "We are convinced that we need both spirituality and science and none of them can be perfect alone." Abhay looked surprised and looked at Gauri who was looking at him with a gentle smile and he felt doubtful in his heart.

The winner was announced and people started leaving. Many people felt unconvinced because Gauri has not participated fully and they were talking among themselves.

"It was a shame, Gauri did not argue actively. I brought my children so that they could hear her views on spirituality." One father holding the hands of his two children and walking said to the other person beside him.

Other person said "Maybe she was giving chance to her other team members. A debate is not related to defeating other party but it is to get the answers to your questions and broadening your horizon."

"But she was not even inclined toward putting strong front. Maybe she was not much interested in debate." Another person interjected.

One person said, "Maybe she was interested simply in giving an easy victory to her beloved." And many people laughed.

They know Gauri is strong and they also know that she loves Abhay. Although Gauri never shows off her powers, anyone can make a guess due to her father and his teachings. But still, if they knew her actual attainment, everyone will be shocked for sure.

Gauri was still sitting in the temple at her own place. Even participants started leaving but she was just sitting her eyes closed in a relaxed posture. Her hearing is sharp and she heard what people were discussing about her, she smiled but remained in the same position.

She hears often from her father 'We can never repay the debt their family has on us'. She knows the past from her father and she wants to be near him and give him love. People laugh at her saying her a love-struck puppy but she doesn't mind.

People left one by one, even her father and uncle Bhadra left.

After few hours, it was night time and when she opened her eyes, she found Abhay also sitting there in the same position opposite to her and waiting for her. She felt happy seeing him waiting for her and smiled showing her perfect white teeth and lovely dimples.

He smiled and said "Everyone left and you were meditating. I waited for you before leaving." And he stood up and walked toward the gate.

She looks at his departing back and sighs. She hoped he will talk to her more. Her eyes became watery. She remembered something she has read "Love is not a trade, it wants you to sacrifice without wanting anything in return. Even after this, it makes you happy."

She wiped her eyes and thought with a weak smile "That definition was made for me. This is my love." Her eyes are filled with hope and yearning.

"At least he waited for me. This much is enough for now." She thought and smiled brightly and ran after him.
