"We resurrected this city from a waste to flourishing energy capital. This is also our center of the spiritual groups of Indian sub-continent. Who are they to claim the ruling right in the city." In the meeting room at Leader Prajapati, a high pitched voice of Bhadra can be heard.
Another person' s voice can be heard saying "Yes, that is correct. Leader! we have to decide something. These anarchic groups are really too unreasonable. On one side they demand a peaceful solution to show to the world and on another side, they are bribing or threatening our mine and factory workers. In last one year, there have been two bomb blasts in mines and also three insurrection incidents and we have lost more than two hundred people in those."
This is monthly status meeting spiritual group organizes to review the management of the city and also to find the solution of any ongoing issues. Leader Prajapati is listening patiently to all the people. In the previous one year, these religious groups have been really a big headache for Singrauli city management and security squads. These groups will demand democracy to be implemented and ask that they should be given equal rights in businesses and city management.
The calm voice of Leader Prajapati could be heard "You all should remain calm. We are the people of the spiritual group and not some rowdy gang. We were forced out of Jabalpur city because we wanted equal rights and recognition. They said that in facing the alien threat, spirituality is not reliable and practices of spirituality are just show off and don't present any result. Now we have moved away and developed our own city and now they want the share here in name of humanity and democracy. This issue really has grown because of our tolerance and their shamelessness."
"Some small anarchist groups should not be able to cause such a big impact. But they threaten to bring Central Protected City in this conflict for justice. If they have the power to involve Central city then this matter is being fanned by other nearby protected cities like Jabalpur or Banaras. " Another person commented.
Leader Prajapati said firmly "There would have been no issue in sharing the city and managing it together. But we have painstakingly have created such harmonious spiritual based society in Singrauli city. We have implemented no last name and social division by work. We have only four type of people in our society and they are the warrior, scholar, businessmen, and worker. Once these groups will start in the combined ruling, they will divide society into different groups and then rivalry and politics will start which destroy our efforts of the last 15 years. We can allow the relocation of new people coming but we can not allow any changes to the ruling and management system."
Abhay and Gauri were sitting outside on the chairs in the porch just outside the meeting hall. Abhay was drinking some fruit juice silently and listening to discussions going on inside. If she told him that she is powerful enough to protect both of them, she won't get many reasons in the future to be together with him.
Gauri was sitting on the chair, her eyes closed and enjoying the morning sunlight. Gauri has mastered the body and mind control and she is at the doorstep of her understanding toward soul. Gauri opened her eyes and looked at Abhay when she felt his gaze on herself. Gauri smiled and said "Elders of our spiritual group are worried about such trivial and non-spiritual things. What would be your solution if you were a decision maker?"
Abhay felt distracted for a moment seeing her angelic smile and kept silent for few moments. He then smiled and said in an indifferent voice "Why should we bother ourselves with such trivial matters and ignore the future? Our city has a common rule and custom for everyone? We can't allow divisive forces to enter our system. It is simple, just announce that rules are unbending and those advocating or acting against it will be persecuted. These people use the name of humanity and democracy to fulfill their own selfish desires."
Seeing the expression and response of Abhay, Gauri did not mind. Instead, she smiled and said, "But we still can not ignore those outside influences. They have scientifically invented weapons and large manpower, so we have to compromise otherwise they will continue causing disturbances or maybe they will attack directly and common people will suffer."
Abhay said firmly "That is why I am saying. Those people don't care about the deaths of commoners. If we continue being tolerant, casualties will increase. Why not put charges on them and persecute them? Can there be a more peaceful city than ours? But it will change soon if those things were not controlled. Our martial art group has 55 boys and all of them think the same way. It's elders who are still indecisive. I can tell for sure, in last maybe in the next 5-10 years they will also reach on the same decision but the situation will be more desperate then."
Gauri smiled and said "Looks like you are the leader of Boys Martial Arts group. Are all of them so aggressive like you? Our city is the city of spiritual practice that is why we don't allow Guns and other modern weapons. But still look like boys are more interested in Martial arts and Weapons practices like Archery, Swordsmanship and spear training." her gaze was expectant and she also felt Abhay will feel bad about her questioning.
Abhay looked at her coy appearance and laughed and said "You did not ask anything bad, why such appearance? Spiritual practices take time to be perfected and other people might cause disturbances. So, we need some protectors also like our boys martial arts group. We also practice both Yoga and martial arts, it means we are still on the spiritual path, just a bit slower."
Gauri looked at his confident appearance and then said "You are really thoughtful." then she said anxiously "My 18th birthday celebration is coming next week and I have heard the leaders of all social groups and surrounding villages are coming. Also, the leaders of these anarchist groups are invited to discuss the peaceful solution of the issue." of course she does not need to show all those expressions on the face because inside she is totally calm but she has to put a front to him.
Abhay said disdainfully "These people are not the actual leaders of those anarchists. They are just some lackeys of bigger anarchists sitting on the prominent positions in some other cities."
"Issue was created by these people. If they wanted a peaceful solution, why would they fan the flames? It is simple, they wish to capture the businesses and power of this city." Abhay said again after few moments of silence.
"Then I am afraid they will cause some problems during the birthday celebration. The spiritual group is promoting me as their future leader and those anarchists might try to target me and it will endanger people around me. My father might be constrained because of me" Gauri said making a face full of anxiety.
Abhay laughed and said "Why are you worried? Your safety is my responsibility. Elders will take care of their things. I will take care of those who will try to harm you. Anyway, will anyone really dare to harm you in my presence? I am really willing to use my sword." His expression was really proud and arrogant which made Gauri smile. She smiled because she has made him stay near her. She has to thank those trivial anarchists for that.
She felt happy in heart and lowered her head shyly and said: "Thank you."
"Do you have to say thank you to me? Isn't it my responsibility?" Abhay asked her.
She looked at him, her eyes misty and said: "I don't know." tears were threatening to come out from her eyes. She really did not know. he is always so indifferent towards her. Never responds to her feelings and shows like he does not understand them. She also does not know why her protection is his responsibility. is it because he thinks of her as his other half or just because he is dutybound as a protector.
Abhay looked in her eyes. He very much wants to wipe those tears but his pride won't allow him to be defeated by emotions. Gauri can sense his dilemma. Finally, his expression softened and he said "It is my duty. You have to remember this." This was enough to make Gauri smile.
She asked again making a stern face "So, wherever I will go, you will be there for my protection. Right?"
"Yes." Abhay said.
She stood up. Abhay looked at her. She said "Now what are you waiting for? See, I have suddenly decided to visit the temple. As a protector, you have to follow me. Let elders discuss their matter, You concentrate on your duty." She laughed and walked outside the house. Abhay felt amused and he jumped up from the chair and followed her.
