Chapter 2 - Transmigration... this can't be right! (2)

Tap. tap. tap. tap.

Thousands of clicking sounds crowded the small room. Although the taps occurred hundreds of times a minute, it had a melodic vibe to it. It was almost as if a grand pianist had picked up a keyboard and began typing as they would play La Campanella at a national concert.

Smooth, slender fingers flew rapidly across the screen, pressing almost every button on the keyboard with high .... no, perfect precision. The other hand was not free either, as it moved the mouse in every two dimensional direction possible while also clicking furiously at the left and right buttons.

The screen flashed vividly for a few moments before a victory sound and 'war complete' announcement appeared.

[ Congratulations! You have prevailed in ---custom match--- 1vs20 ]

[ Your rewards : 10000000 Exp, 22 Battle Points, 48 Talent Points ]

Jun Sha closed the interface of the war log and quickly allocated the received rewards into several different troop types.

'Fort Unknown's Battlegrounds'

An extremely popular game that appealed to not only younger gamers, but older ones as well. It's Battle Royale Commanding Strategy gave many play styles to the gamers and this allowed for FUBG to become internationally recognised as the most played and highly rated game currently out for the public.

The game concept was really similar to a summoner in those older open world RPGs. One would command an army in an extremely large island, along with 99 other players, all trying to fight it out for a taste of that juicy Beef Wellington Dinner.

The player would be able to choose any amount of troops they would like, however choosing an infinite amount of troops would be near suicidal, considering that one would only start with limited food. Hence the meta had settled on each player bringing three squadrons of different classes, which would end up being the most battle efficient and food efficient. There were exception in which players would perform exceptionally well with only a single squadron of assassins, or five squadrons of pure power, however those players were basically born to do that.

Jun Sha worked as a professional player and was known globally as the summoner.

Why? Some might reason.

Well, this was due to his ability to command over forty squadrons without even breaking a sweat.

Who? Some might question.

Well, his average game play APM would settle around 1000 actions per minute. Considering normal players would usually average 80-100, Jun Sha was basically a precision god.

Millions of fans would look up to him everyday, and yet due to an unfortunate occurrence in his team, his contract was terminated and he left the pro scene, only to be replaced by a half-assed player.

Jun Sha would now spend his time streaming FUBG and also playing custom games, in which he would perform amazing feats of 1vs20 against his fans.

"Haha, good game boys, my hands hurt like hell so that's it for today!"

Jun Sha ended the stream and sunk deep into his chair mentally exhausted, not from the games he had just played, but simply from stress over repaying the compensation for forcefully terminating his team contract.

He didn't despise his old teammates..

He just felt a little disappointed.. a little disconnected.

His eyelids dropped constantly, he fought to keep them open so he could put some food into his stomach, and yet it was futile. No man could win against the need to sleep, to rest the exhausted body.

"I'll wake up soon anyways, what's the harm?"

Jun Sha hit the table solidly, however the impact had not woken him. He was already in deep sleep.

Grroooooo

Jun Sha roused from his slumber, a deep growling sound resonated around him, in his mind, directly within him. 'Did I forget to turn my game off?', he thought.

He clutched at the thick woollen blankets, pulling them over his head, yet they felt quite leafy. Not only that, but the sound was not softer, in fact, it had gotten louder, this time an audible pleasant tone accompanied it.

"I must be dreaming of FUBG again... However I do not remember monsters sounding like that inside the game."

Jun Sha sat up, rubbing his eyes and stretching like he always would. It was unusually bright, Jun Sha would always close his blinds every time he streamed to prevent uneven back lighting on his green screen.

Finally, he reached out to his side table for his glasses, however after fumbling around for a bit, not only could he not find his glasses, he couldn't even find the table!

What kind of joke was this? Jun Sha opened his eyes wide only to shut them in fear milliseconds after. 'What was that, am I hallucinating? Did I stream too much yesterday that I'm seeing things?'

What he had seen wasn't something of contemporary times.

It had a deformed face, the entire body was black and from it, one could feel a shocking aura radiating from it. He had seen it from an angle, but he could still tell that the height reached at least three or more metres.

Everything about it was terrifying, and yet, now that Jun Sha pictured the beast in his mind again, it was aesthetically beautiful, fit for war, fit for slaughter.

Jun Sha heaved a deep sigh before opening his eyes once more.

There it was again, still staring, still beastly, still radiating that intense aura, and yet now, it looked much more appealing than before. A kite shaped shield hung upon the beast's arm, protecting what seemed to be the vital parts of its body, a large oddly shaped demonic war axe lay across its shoulders casually, as if it didn't weigh anything.

"Seven Sins Demon Lord, you've awoken, we seek your guidance."

The voice resounded once more. Yet this time, it was recognisable, not that it had changed, it was still the hoarse deep growl from before, but he could understand.

Although Jun Sha knew that he wasn't the true so called Seven Sins Demon Lord, he could at least play it off. He hadn't played a strategy game as a career for nothing.

"What's the situation, why have you come to seek me?", Jun Sha let out a deep bellow, noticing that his own voice had not changed, it was still human.

"Demon Lord, we've carried out our attacks on the humans quite successfully, the main competitor, the church, has fallen. However, the western front seems to have met significant troubles..."

The demon explained the entire situation in a concise report before bowing deeply to Jun Sha, "Please provide us with guidance Demon Lord."

While on the exterior, the Demon Lord seemed calm, however on the inside, the challenge loving gamer nature was coming to life. 'A difficult opponent? Just what I need! Obviously the demons are out levelled and out geared, however this is why it will be an amazing experience. It's practically FUBG with Impossible Level Bots!'

"Show me the mini-map, wait no the map of the terrain, give me numbers on our troops, report me on every detail!"

A sharp glint ran through his eyes as he stretched out his fingers, "I guess it's time to get serious!"
