Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 School of Carnage

Author's comment

(Last warning guys. This story will be dark, bloody, and a little twisted. If you are easily offended you should stop now because it's only just beginning. I hope you enjoy the story but remember it is only a story and I don't condon or approve of any actions that will follow. I hope if you continue you enjoy the read.)

The school looked fairly ordinary from the outside of you ignore the bloody scene surrounding it. Before all this it probably held around a thousand students. As we approached the door our guns were trained on the dark passage beyond, because of one of the explosions the doors were blown of so we had a clear line of sight. With nothing in our way the situation screamed of a trap.

Derek reached the door first checking either side for anything hidden, with the all clear he started to move forward as me and Max covered him. After he walked in two meters I started to follow. The hallway had no doors, it was most likely used just to get outside. Derek reached the end of the hallway where it opened up on both sides. After checking both sides he signaled for us to move up.

As I got to the end of the hallway I could see empty hallways on both sides, you could tell something happened though. Lockers were destroyed, dried blood and feces everywhere, some of the doors laid in pieces on the ground, and the walls had deep gouges. The goblins seem to enjoy destroying things. From what we saw outside the left side should lead to the front entrance of the school while the right would lead to the gym. We decided it was more likely for them to be in the gym.

Max kept a watch on our backs while me and Derek walked on either side of hallway. On they way to the gym there is two doors on both sides leading to classrooms, we have to check them carefully to avoid attacks from behind.

I made my way along the wall towards the first door on my side, the door was already broken off the hinges so I could see inside a bit from where I stand. The room was a mess, the windows were broken, desks in pieces, the artwork on the walls had been torn to shreds all over the place. Standing on one side of the door I couldn't see anything inside. I moved to the other side of the door to see if anything was hidden from sight, I only found small lockers for the children to put their lunches and coats empty. Derek and Max watch me as I give the first clear and start to enter the classroom.

I put my machete in it's holder on my back and draw my hunting knife. I start to go through the wreckage just in case, the classroom was mostly open space but there were a few cabinets and desks perfect for hiding. I quickly check around the desks making sure nothing was going to slash my ankles, after a few moments of searching I still found nothing. I started to move towards the cabinets while staying alert, as I got to the first of three I listen closely for any noise. Hearing nothing I open the doors and step back, only to be greeted by empty space.

I take a deep breath to calm down the few nerves jumping around as I reach the second cabinet. Again I listen before opening the doors, this one had school supplies in it but still no goblins. I go towards the last cabinet and prepare to open the doors when I hear a rustling. I lean in to listen closer when the doors burst open landing a blow on my head and sending me onto the floor.

A small green body jumps toward me, in that moment I rolled to my side on instinct alone. The sound of a knife striking the floor sounds out from my previous position, I look up to get a look at my attacker.

The goblin had a height of around half a meter with pale almost sickly green wrinkled skin. Its face has a nasty expression, probably from missing me with it's first strike. In its hand is a large steak knife that almost looks like a short sword in it's child like hands. He makes an ugly face before making a nasty hissing sound. It came at me swingin down with the steak knife. I'm just able to block it with my knife, causing it to start staggering back from the impact.

I can tell from the block the goblin isn't very strong and after I get my bearings I'll have the upper hand in this fight. It seems to realize this as well and tries to launch a series of blows before I can get off the ground. I block the first downward swing, then the following back hand, finally I'm able to kick it back enough to pull out my pistol from it's holster. Sensing the danger it was in the goblin gave one last desperate battle cry as it launches itself at me.

GAARRGGHHH

BANG

BANG

The goblin lands right on my chest with the knife scratching my neck, only enough to leave a thin trace of blood but more than enough to anger me. I push it's body off me and find two bullet holes, one in its chest the other in its neck. Both shots fatal leaving me covered in blood.

Max steps into the room and notices my blood drenched apparence.

"You ok Hunter?"

After explaining that I was fine he nodded and went back to the hallway. I looked around and found a few things that suggested that people might have used this school as a shelter. My only question is where did they go when the goblins stormed the place.

I head back into the hall and notice Max looking into the classroom across the hall, with derek out of sight Max must be covering his back. I look back and forth but the hallway making sure it is still devoid of any activity. I slowly move towards the next classroom on my side of the hallway while constantly checking my back. As I'm about to reach the next door I see Derek come out of the his classroom with some fresh blood dripping from his bat, guess he found at least one goblin in his room as well.

without having to worry about him I start to peer into my next room. The door was still on it's hinges this time, I turned the doorknob and pushed it open slowly. What greeted me can not be described in mere words, the closest you could come to describing it is a sick and twisted scene from hell.

Stacks of bodies piled together fill the room. Women, children, some scrawny men, all with mangled and tortured appearances. Bodies with missing limbs or chunks of flesh ripped, torn, even chewed off are scattered everywhere. I walked over to a small body of a child that had been killed, he still had a look of agony on his face. His neck was broken and twisted around while his body was covered in bruises and fluids. At least his body was whole, others only became harder to describe as bodies instead pieces of meat barely in a somewhat human form is a better description.

The smell in the air is nauseating from the mixture of blood, feces, and different fluids. I look around but nothing in this room is alive, only the resentful dead. There isn't even any leftover goblins waiting in ambush. This sight truly angers me, I have always considered myself a bad person for my urges to do harm but I have never pictured doing anything like this, especially to children. My vision starts to go as red as the blood that stains the floor and walls, a need to hit, to kill comes over me. I walk out of that room and a purpose drives me as I start to head towards the gym.

I can just barely hear Max in the background shouting at me but I can't think clearly enough to care. I have never had the urge to kill resonate throughout my body so strongly, almost as if this urge has come alive and was leading me on a path to satisfaction, but only after shedding a river of blood. The thought of it brought a smile to my face as I kick open the door to the gym, knocking two goblins over onto their backs.

I don't even need a weapon, I feel like I could just kill them all with my bare hands. I pick the two goblins up by their necks as they squirm under the pressure, kicking and screaming abuse at me with a terrified look in their eyes. One had a knife with him but no matter how hard he tried he could only leave small scratches on my arm. He could only watch as I slowly increased the pressure on their necks and enjoyed the sight of their futile resistance grow weaker all so slowly. Once a pair of snapping noises rang out I dropped their lifeless bodies to the floor.

I felt the need to fight and kill only grow stronger, my body screamed to unleash the inner demon that I've always locked away. I stopped controlling the poison in my body and started to release it, a blue mist started to seep out of my pores. My senses heightened to a level they could never have reached if I hadn't upgraded my nervous system, as my body scans the room using all five senses, telling me everything I wanted to know. Before I started my fun I caught sight of myself in a piece of broken glass, white hair, pale skin, glowing blues eyes as a blue mist seeps out of my skin. I looked like a demon and I am ok with that because I am about to transform this into a true school of carnage, for that purpose this appearance worked just fine for me.

The tier 1 goblin from before and two others show themselves surrounded by their weaker brothers and sisters. The weaker ones stared at me with terror etched into their faces. The Tier 1 goblin roared a challenge at me and I smiled.

"That's right, schools in session. COME AT ME!"
