Chapter 41 - Demolition

"Why would a living person worry about what happens after she dies?"

As he said that, the white-robed man pulled out a sheathed broadsword from his spatial pouch.

Eh?

Both of them had spatial pouches?

Seeing that, Yin realized that both these two spies had a background more powerful than the Ye Sect where only its Patriarch was known to have a spatial pouch.

Who could they be?

What kind of status and background do they have?

One was a disciple of someone who was probably famous, but sorry to say that Yin was a newcomer in this world; she had zilch an idea of who that strongest-whatever was.

The other person was probably a guard of someone surnamed Qing—could that Qing be that pretty boy from earlier? No? Yin was having doubts as this white-robed man was not part of the attending guards from a while ago.

With a sweep of divine sense, she could see his facial features despite the runes inscribed on his face mask. Though he was at par with the cultivation of the old man carrying the frail boy in golden robes, this white-robed man was middle-aged, obviously a different person.

"Die, you dog!" the black-clothed woman laughed again. A shriek filled the room as she brandished her saber. "After I kill you, I will collect your soul to strengthen and further refine my saber!"

As for the woman, Yin was kidding when she said that the face behind the mask was a beauty. From her divine sense, she could see that the woman had sharp and deathly pale features, looking like she was once a noble lady who wasn't able to bath for seven days and was starved for just as long.

This was a clear sign of an excess of death qi. If her master-whoever practices necromancy, as his disciple, then she practices it too. She was probably over-exposed to death qi. The ghastly howls of her saber further strengthened this guess.

No necromancer had an abundance of vitality; how could a female one retain any of her youth or beauty?

Yin guessed that her action of using death qi earlier had aroused the interest of the woman.

As for her claim about being her junior martial sister, that was probably not a lie too. After all, Yin's Absolute Yin Physique would allow a practitioner dabbling in necromancy to practice evil arts while yielding twice the result for half the time and effort.

Turning corpses into the Undead?

Wielding an army of ghosts?

Refining souls to create curses?

Are they not also yin-attributed cultivation? Was that not part of her Dao as well?

For Yin, the Dao is the Dao, no matter whether it was labeled righteous or evil by the people around her. Just as the Heaven is emotionless, the Dao has no heart.

How it was used, whether to harm or to benefit others, depends on the wielder.

Who was she to criticize the path others have taken?

Enemies... it would never be an issue of who is right or wrong. The question would always be about where the benefits and interests lie, about who is a threat and who blocks whose way.

Too bad, as this time, Yin landed on the side of the Righteous path, where a certain stinky someone could not even bear the thought of scamming others. Not that she's complaining. Ye Hua would not be Ye Hua otherwise.

If this black-clothed woman and the ones behind her even dare think about harming Ye Mo, Ye Hua and Wu Xuan'er, then she wouldn't mind removing one of the practitioners of her arts.

"Let me experience the saber play of the infamous Ghost Blade!" the white-robed man growled.

Rapid footsteps could be heard outside her room.

"Ghost Blade?"

The door slid open.

"That woman is really the Ghost Blade! Oh, no! Little Yin? Are you okay?"

Of course, with all these commotions, it was impossible for Ye Hua and Wu Xuan'er not to be alarmed. The two of them immediately entered her room. Wu Xuan'er nearly fainted.

"Little Yin!

Sensing the high cultivation of the two currently fighting, Ye Hua dove towards Yin and carried her into his arms. Nimbly, he dodged the flying saber winds and remnant sword flashes that were sharp enough to cut iron like clay.

The Ghost Blade sent out several shrieking ghosts to block Ye Hua. Sword qi erupted from the door; Wu Xuan'er had pulled out her weapon to protect her husband.

Whoa! Yin could not help but inwardly applause at how badass Sis Xuan'er looked fighting ghosts!

Once Ye Hua had arrived near the door, he pulled his wife outside the room and together, they ran off.

Behind them, they could hear loud crashes and explosions. More voices could be heard. The white-clothed man's reinforcements had arrived.

Yin smiled brightly. "Aiya, they destroyed my room. No, they're destroying the courtyards. Old fogey would be crying until no tears are left once he returns."

"You do not need to be worried about that!" Ye Hua did not know where he should laugh or cry. Was this the time to actually gloat about others' misfortune?

They were now outside the manor. Once the couple deemed that they were far enough from the fight, they stopped running.

"Are you hurt, Little Yin?" Wu Xuan'er asked worriedly. On her hand was a sword with a bright red tassel.

It was only then that Yin also noticed that Ye Hua carried a sword with a red tassel as well, only his blade was longer. Their swords looked like they were forged at the same time by the same blacksmith.

Couple swords, how cute!

"I am unhurt," she responded with a dimpled smile. These two worry too much, ah! That's cute too. "That man in white saved me."

That she didn't need any saving, she no longer mentioned that.

"That's great," Wu Xuan'er sighed in relief. "I can't believe that a demonic cultivator dares trespass the Ye Sect at this time. They were no longer being low-key. It seems like a full, all-out war is inevitable in the near future."

Ye Hua knelt on the grass and put Yin down. "I worry about the Imperial Family's decision on deploying troops. The elders are... never mind."

Yin then saw Ye Hua lit up a communication talisman, probably to inform his poor uncle about the demolition ongoing in his home. The normally gentle and amiable Wu Xuan'er, on the other hand, was on the lookout, her expression stern and alert.

Hmm... it appears that between these two, the wife had a higher battle strength and consciousness?

Ah, she forgot. Ye Hua might be a sword cultivator, but he's also an alchemist. Surely, if Wu Xuan'er purely cultivates the sword, then her achievement on fighting would be higher between the two.

Wasn't Zhi Ruo also... could this be a particular taste of Ye Mo's branch of the family?
