Chereads / The Pyromancer / Chapter 3 - A Dream To Reality

Chapter 3 - A Dream To Reality

The world is covered in sand, the sun's giving off a scorching heat, and the warm gust of wind touches the skin every now and then. A group of twenty-four people gathers under the sky, preparing and planning a strategy, they are called the "Marauders". The maximum player capacity of the area is only twenty-four, so the Marauders brought the twenty-four of the best players they have in their guild. The target this time is a giant scorpion with 8 eyes and huge stinger poison that can kill it's target in minutes if not given proper medical attention. Its name is "Scorpius", one of the hardest mythical boss in the game. It can use abilities that can slow everyone in an area, release poison gas and an instant kill claw swipe. It also has passives such as magical resistance: mythical, hardened shell: mythical, resist negative effects: mythical and detect: mythical. Nothing can sneak behind it, instant kill it with magic, or disable it with stun, slow, or root.

Moments later, the Marauders launches an attack toward Scorpius, with Ethan leading the charge. Spells and arrows are flying all over the place, physical damage dealers are going behind the boss to utilize the backstab damage bonus, tanks are raising their shield and taunting the boss to protect the members, and the healers behind make sure that no one dies and uses purify to cleanse the poison the boss releases. Players are falling like leaves in autumn, but the healers resurrect them as fast as they could while not neglecting their duty in healing and supporting the tanks. Spellcasters use mana potions to recover the mana they used so they can keep on continuing and contributing to the fight. Everyone's doing the best they could to put down the mighty beast.

Aidan used every spell in his arsenal, but because Aidan like fire spells so much, the only spell he has are fiery spells that do extraordinary damage. Aidan's love for fire spells was acknowledged by the game, and he received the title "The Pyromancer" when he reached level 100. Even his friend Ethan was amazed when he received the news that Aidan got a title from the game. The Pyromancer title gives a tremendous boost to fire type spells in terms of damage and area of effect. It also gives the player a bonus magic piercing effect to their spells, and lastly, it turns the color of all fire spells' of the player, dark blue. This made anyone who witnesses Aidan's fire spells be amazed and awestruck.

"Your flames are still amazing, it never really gets old Aidan."

"It's nothing, compared to you who keeps on taking damage but still stands, you're one tough motherfucker Ethan."

"Hah! I can do this all day."

"Be careful, this isn't one of those dungeon bosses that you can take lightly."

"Don't worry, I'm always cautious when tanking. If we tanks die, then everyone in the group will die as well."

"Good, let's focus on killing this overgrown scorpion."

Thiry minutes passed and the supplies are running low, but Scorpius's hp is down to 10%. Victory is within the groups grasp when the Lord of the desert unleashed its strongest move, Wrath of the Desert. Wrath of Desert releases poisons four times the normal radius, slows everyone in the group, creating a sandstorm out of nowhere to blind the everyone in the area, and summons tornados that can severely damage anything on its path.

"We can do this! Keep Fighting!" Everyone heard Ethan's roar that echoes throughout the area, it always gives everyone a boost in morale when fighting in dungeons, raids, or bosses. But this time, everyone's determined to kill the boss, and with a relentless warcry coming from their leader, it made them fiercer and stronger.

Everyone in the party scattered, but even then, many of the tanks have fallen and the healers can't resurrect so many dead players and heal at the same time. Even Ethan, the leader, has fallen and everyone's morale has gone down, everyone thought that this is the end and there's no hope. There are only the gusting wind and the shriek of the boss, but suddenly, a mystical chant can be heard in the rear. It's Aidan, casting the mythical spell, "Inferno". Everyone in the party regained their composure knowing that there's still hope.

The Inferno spell negates magical resistance and burns enemies down with extremely high damage. Members of the group are slowly dying every moment that passes by, but everyone know what they have to do now, let Aidan finish his spell. After the casting's completed, the ground where the Scorpius stands is suddenly filled with a mesmerizing rune circle, then dark blue flames appeared like it's coming out from hell. Scorpius's hp is going down rapidly and there's no sign of it slowing down. The fire burns the boss as it cries and suffers from the azure flame. Scorpius screamed a loud cry and then, the world turned silent, Scorpius's hp has gone down to zero percent.

"CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE KILLED A MYTHICAL BOSS."

The Marauders have killed a mythical boss. Everyone who survived cried cheers, and rejoiced, for they have killed one of the strongest bosses in the game. Everone's chanting Aidan's name and cheering for him, players in world chat and guild chat congratulated them for killing a mythical boss. The atmosphere turned livelier and the cheers made Aidan tear up from excitement and joy. The exhaustion from the previous battle are nowhere to be found, there's only a group of people, celebrating for defeating a boss in a game. It may only be game, but what they currently feel right now is real and authentic.

And so, the legend of The Pyromancer has echoed around the world. But no one expected that it even reached places out of this world...
