Chapter 29 - No Good Morning

When Varsha woke up in the morning next day, wall clock in the room showed it is 7 AM. Daylight is coming into the room from the broad window and the glass panes of the door to balcony.

She turned and found that on the other side of the bed Akash is still sleeping and his face looks very peaceful and lowing from the morning light. Varsha felt mesmerized for a moment. She stayed in that posture while looking at her husband.

After some time his body moved and his eyelashes fluttered which startled Varsha and she left the quilt and stood up from the bed and tried to stretch out her body by spreading her arms in the air like welcoming the morning light on her own face and body. "Oh, it will be so embarrassing if he noticed me staring at himself." She thought.

Her sudden movement pulled the quilt which woke Akash up and he found her stretching her body and for a moment he wanted to keep looking. Suddenly he felt annoyed that this shameless village girl is stretching out in front of him. He coughed to get her attention.

Varsha turned and smiled at him and said "Good Morning" She is really feeling embarrassed and does not know how to face her husband and wants to start communication before he asks anything related with her staring at him.

"Did you ever say Good Morning to anyone in the village before?" Akash asked annoyed. Her greeting looks so fake.

Varsha said "No. We did not need to do that. My Grandma or sisters-in-law will call me to wake up so it never occurred to me to say Good Morning. And normally we do not need formalities among closed ones."

Akash felt annoyed of her blabbering and raised his hand toward her mentioning her to stop and said "Okay, Okay. So, with me also don't do formalities" She is so fake while trying to imitate the greeting she might have seen in drama or movies. It is embarrassing to respond to her.

Varsha felt shy thinking he is saying so because he is pointing out as they are closed ones they don't need formalities between them. She lowered her head and said "Okay"

Akash is still in bed and told her "Go to the washroom and freshen up and get ready to head down otherwise grandma will start shouting soon."

Varsha ran to the washroom along with her toiletries she just retrieved from her bag. It took her almost 20 minutes to get ready and she came out of the washroom and picked up her phone from the dressing table and scurried away outside the room. The annoyed gaze of Akash followed her until she is outside.

Outside the room, the view is really splendid. Her room is on the first floor and the hall is at the center. Construction of house is done so as to encompass the hall from all the side. There are five big rooms on the first floor and three big rooms on the ground floor. Other than this, there is a big kitchen on the ground floor. Hall or lounge can be seen from the door of any of the rooms on the first floor. It's like watching from the balcony. There are stairs on north and south side of the hall to go to the first floor. There is a pathway with beautiful railing on the first floor facing the hall. There are beautifully colored pillars on all four sides of the hall.

The moment Varsha came out of her room, she found herself admiring the beautiful design of the house. Grandpa is sitting on the sofa in hall and reading newspaper. Grandma is also sitting in the hall across him and when she saw Varsha she called "Dear! Come down. We old people are waiting for young ones already for some time."

Varsha saw grandma and she smiled and shouted "coming grandma!" and she walked briskly making the twinkling sound from her anklets toward the stairs. She just needed to hear the voice of grandma and she felt like being at home.

Varsha reached the sofa and sat beside grandma and said excitedly "Grandma! House is really big and design is also good. Those pillars and designs of cow, lotus flower and other things are also colored very beautifully." Her hands moved animatedly and bangles made a tinkling sound when she pointed toward all the things she is talking about and her expression is changing from one to another. She held the hand of grandma in her excitement. Grandma smiled at her.

Grandpa laughed and said "You have only seen from inside. Go outside after breakfast with Ira and she will show you everything which is there within the boundary wall of our property."

"Are there really other things as well? Oh, is there vegetable garden too?" Varsha asked happily.

Grandma stroked her hair lovingly and said while laughing "Yes. The vegetable garden is also there and so many other things. And this is your new home. You are responsible for making it more beautiful."

"Yes, Grandma!" Varsha smiled and then replied shyly.

Grandpa looked adoringly at his shy granddaughter-in-law and said "Dear! Don't always wear Saree at home. It might be a bit inconvenient. You should also wear T-shirts, tops or frocks along with bloomers or Jeans pants just like Ira. You are the same age as Ira, So just be like her."

Grandma also smiled and asked Varsha who is thinking something "What are you thinking? Is there a problem. I also liked the beautiful sound of your anklets and bangles but we can bear not hearing it always to make my beloved happy."

"No, there is no problem wearing at home. But I am still thinking as I am married I should still wear Saree blouse with ornaments when going out." Varsha said.

Grandpa smiled and said "Our granddaughter-in-law is so cultured. Dear! You can do as you wish. We want you to be happy and feel at home with us."

Varsha smiled and said, "Yes, Grandpa!"

Suddenly a girly shout came from one side with a person running and with a "Good morning, sister-in-law!" Ira jumped on the sofa and hugged Varsha startling Grandma.

Grandma shouted "See, this brat trying to give a heart attack to the old lady in the morning. Someone bring my stick to correct the habits of this girl."

Ira giggled and said "Grandma! Another day you got angry that I called you old lady and now you are calling it yourself. You are really an opportunist. To beat me you suddenly became a senior citizen from a young woman."

To hear this Grandpa laughed and even Varsha could not stop from laughing. Ira nudged Varsha and pouted "I said Good Morning. You did not reply."

Varsha smiled and said, "Your brother said in the morning that with closed ones we do not have to be so formal and do these types of greetings."

Ira sat straight on the sofa and then made a thinking gesture and then said: "Then let me think of something informal." And then she hugged Varsha and shouted "I love you, sister-in-law!" after that she started giggling.

Varsha also laughed and said, "Yes, it is really too informal."

Grandpa and Grandma also laughed. Then Grandma shouts to the maid who is cleaning dining table nearby "Sita! Call Ramu and start preparing breakfast now. Everyone will be here almost within half an hour."

Ramu and Sita are husband and wife and are maid employed to work inside the house for cooking and cleaning work. Sita replied "Yes, madam" and she went to inform her husband who is doing some work in the kitchen.
