Chapter 1 - She's already scared enough

Lu Meilin rubbed her eyes as she continues on chasing the clock and also her deadlines. Normally people would rather sit tight on their comfy beds now instead of chasing the clock down at 2 in the morning.

Oh, damn those people making me do the work of four, she cursed when she looked at the pile of papers and books beside her.

It is not supposed to be her work. There are four people who should be working on the papers but all of her groupmates was suddenly offline even though she keeps on reminding them about the work that needs to be done. Meilin sighed as she continues on working on the papers.

When she finished the parts that need to be edited she jumps out of the chair and put all the books back to the proper shelves. Meilin silently thanks her boss because even though the bookstore is rundown and pretty old, it still had reliable books for her thesis.

The yellow light that comes from above slightly helps the tired eyes of Meilin. As she was putting back the last book on the shelf, she stumbles on a creepy book.

"Since when did this thing come down?" she asked herself and lift it up.

As she was the only person in the building, scary thoughts rushed down to her mind and give a chilling cold in her spine.

Meilin, the book won't come down unless someone put it down, she thought.

"Nah, I might have put it there..." she believes even though she's already scared. She put it back to the shelf but... the book spoke!

"Hey, missy, open me!"

The book is speaking! No, no, no! The book won't speak! Is it a ghost?! Wait, this is already the 21st century, why ghost?! A... a rapist?!

"Hey, Meilin! How long do you think should I keep on calling your name?! Open the book!"

It really did!
