Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

I walk into my next class, ill prepared for what awaits me. This class is Magic casting, if my mana pool is grade B then I should be alright for now. I think to myself as I sit at a table that could seat another three people. I open one of the books that explains how to use magic, and start learning early until the other students get here. I read until the teacher comes in and sits down at her desk. She looks at me and smiles.

"Wolf, right?" She asks, setting her stuff down. I close my book and put it away. Uh... isn't it too early for her to know my name? I think to myself.

"Uh, yes Ma'am." I say, cautiously. I wonder why she bothered to learn my name ahead of time.

"You probably don't remember me, since you were too young. My name is Clematis Wisteria Lavender." She said, staring past me with milky eyes. Her hair was the color of night, long and wavy. while she was wearing a robe unlike any I have ever seen. It was white towards the bottom but black at the shoulders, fading to white. She wore black slippers that didn't make any noise when she walked.

"I don't recognize that name, Mrs. Lavender." I say, confused. She turns around and walks back towards her desk, using the tables as guidance.

"I didn't really expect you to." She sighed, sitting down. "I met you when you were just a babe. I could tell it was you by your aura, it hasn't changed one bit since then." She said, smiling. My Aura? What does my Aura have to do with this? I think, as I wait patiently for the students to get here. None show.

"Are you ready, Wolf?" Mrs. Lavender asks, looking towards me with her milky white eyes.

"Ready for what?" I ask, totally confused watching as she gets up and walks towards me.

"Ready for your test." She says, smiling evilly. She then proceeds to walk up to the table I am sitting at and attack me with wind magic. I stand, about to attack her physically, but I struggle to breath as the air in my lungs gets sucked out, I soon see spots and I struggle to stay conscious. I feel something break within me and I put my hands to my head, a strong surge of power going through me. Suddenly I am able to breath again and Mrs. Lavender is on the floor on her ass. I all but collapsed trying to sit down. What was that?! I screamed in my head, my head was killing me.

"Wow, Wolf you have strong battle instincts." Mrs. Lavender said, trying to get up. "Now we must hone that, and you must learn to call on your elements to aid you." She said, finally managing to get up. She limped over to her desk, sat down and pulled out a stack of papers out from a drawer in her desk. She wrote a bunch of stuff down before continuing. "You will mostly succeed in powerful spells, your battle instincts will guide you." she mumbled, writing more stuff down. "I predict you will be a rank S mage in the future, as well as an rank A sword fighter. You see my powers allow me to see the future of anyone who I fight with my magic." She said, looking towards me, smiling. "You passed." she said, putting the papers into an envelope.

"Is that all this test was?" I ask, sighing. Why did she have to attack me? I mean I get that its part of her powers but she could have at least warned me. I think, standing up. She looks up from sealing the envelope, staring at me.

"No, you have a written exam next time. You are dismissed, go rest." She said, standing up and grabbing a long thin stick, tapping it around the floor in front of her as she walked.

"What is that for?" I ask, motioning to the stick. She turned her head to me.

"I am blind, so I tap this is front of me so I don't hit anything or bump into anyone." She explained, walking out of the room. She said I was dismissed to go rest. I can go get something from Adenine then. I think, walking out of the room towards the cafeteria.
