Chapter 51 - Dye Can Be Tricky

There was no flaws she could exploit from the puppet. A puppet was created to be a flawless soldier that would never get anything wrong. The original creator of the puppet arts created them to give his loved one a friend. She was lonely and sad, so he made her a friend that listened to everything she said, the 'perfect friend'.

Suddenly, a huge fire broke out near his house. Afraid that his loved one would leave him so soon, he took the 'friend' and ordered the puppet to become the 'perfect bodyguard' that would protect his loved one at all costs. He didn't care what his loved one thought about his actions, he just wanted the 'best' for her.

One day, the puppet died. It was then when his loved one figured it was a puppet. No wonder it was lifeless, no wonder it never said anything back. It was never alive after all. It was just something the creator created to accompany her. She thought that she felt lonely before, but now, she felt lonelier than ever. The only friend she confided in was a fake, a lie. What was she supposed to believe in now?

When the creator knew, he immediately racked his brain. All he wanted was for his loved one to stay with him instead of leaving him alone in this world. He couldn't see her feel any negative emotions. He wanted her to feel happy, contented. In the end, he created a lifelike puppet that had a conscience. Instead of a 'perfect friend' or a 'perfect bodyguard', he created a 'perfect companion'.

However, instead of doing his job, the 'perfect companion' made the loved one fall in love with him, and the 'companion' also fell in love with her. The creator never knew, because he always heard happy things about her new 'companion'. It was until the puppet sent him a letter asking if he could marry the target. The creator was bewildered and enraged. However, the puppet with conscience had already developed it's own intelligence and went against the creator.

If only he had looked away from his work and paid attention to his loved one, all of this wouldn't have happened. It seemed that work was much more important than his loved one, and that was what he got in exchange.

The loved one and the puppet got together, but the loved one never knew about the puppets origins until she was old. The shock was too hard for her as she died with regrets. The puppet never got old. The loved one simply thought that he was a cultivator. However, it was simply because he was a puppet. He went into hiding, and although he wasn't the one who first created puppets, he became one of the influential puppeteer figures until now. He was still alive in his hiding, but no one knows where.

Dye had reread that story over and over again. She knew it was perfect for the game and she had to applaud her friend for writing that. It was so emotional, but it would always be useful, no matter how emotional it was.

She wasn't able to beat the puppet physically, but she could disrupt the mental order.

It would be really hard to do that, as she had to find out what the puppeteer ordered him. If she got it wrong, the puppet would realize what she was trying to do and would become even more unbeatable. She didn't want that. She wanted a favourable situation so the risk would be lowered to the bare minimum.

It wasn't only for herself but also for the others.

She was also quite irritated that the current puppeteers completely deviated from the path the creator set for them. Not only the creator but also the famous ancestor. Puppets were created to protect loved ones and not yourself. It was given a heart to feel, not to receive dictations from their makers. Puppets might not be humans, but they weren't created to dominate something that previously wasn't yours.

It seemed that she had something up her sleeve.
