Chapter 37 - When the master enjoys, the subordinates suffer.

Vanish only worked for five minutes while Lesser Invisibility would work as long as the user was not out of mana. Dye understood that Ynoir couldn't linger for long so she let him go first as she could detect his presence through the map.

In addition, Vanish only made the presence disappear, but not masking the user's sound. Ynoir didn't have the time to walk calmly like Dye did. Dye's Lesser Invisibility masked everything after all. She could just jump around and shout all she wanted, and no one would notice them.

Though, the abilities didn't allow them to go through material things. In the end, they had to detour numerous times, and probably act as if a wind was blowing the tents when they accidentally pushed the flaps. The guards didn't suspect a thing, making the two of them suspicious of their abilities as guards.

They had manouvered through the tents, but they weren't able to find the tent they were looking for. The tents look similar, as if the head guard's tent wasn't in the patrol camp at all. They looked at the camps one by one, and sure enough, there weren't one camp more extraordinary than the other. The only differences were one was much neater, while the other is more colder, or had more food, or with someone's nameplate. Dye sighed as she didn't design such a thing.

Missions set by Hyouka were too difficult ah!

After searching for another half an hour, a soldier was called to the head guard. It was as if they had hit the jackpot. They quickly followed the guard to see where he would head to.

"Dye are you a walking good luck charm?"-Ynoir

Dye rolled her eyes. It was probably the cutscene they were supposed to catch in order to make the quest a success. Though she decided not to tell Ynoir that as the cutscene would really be disturbed as it was the real world.

"Maybe I am."-Dye

The two followed that guard until they reached one of the tents that they had gone inside to. They didn't find anything weird so they didn't think that there was actually a secret contraption inside this particular tent. Underneath one of the mats, was...plain soil, but when the guard poured some oil to some parts of the soil, the soil started to sink until a tunnel was revealed.

The tunnel only fit one person at a time, and they didn't know if the tunnel would suddenly close or not, so in the end, they quickly followed after the guard, slowly walking down (especially poor Ynoir with poor skills). Thankfully, the tunnel only closed when all the people had reached a certain distance within the tunnel.

The tunnel was a dimply lit by a few torches hanging on the wall. The fire also looked like it would die anytime soon. Dye used Night Vision on herself as she continued to walk forward. She didn't have to think about the OP Elven Ancestor behind her as he had night eyes. All Creepers did.

The tunnel was rather long, and it would probably take them half an hour or so to reach the other side, according to Dye's loyal system. Though, the system was unable to measure the correct distance from their location to the other side. In the end, when Dye was about to do drastic measures (AKA bash the system, not bash the guard ah), they finally reached a big black door.

It was surprising. The patrol squad lived in tents while their leader lived in an...underground palace of sorts. Really, when the master enjoyed his life living in luxury, his subordinates had to risk their lives in the forest.

There were no guards in the black door area. Behind the black door was a spiral staircase going even further downwards. How far down can the palace be...

The staircase spiralled downwards, and the staircase became narrower and narrower the lower they got. When they reached the bottom...

There were 10 soldiers waiting in front of a small door.
