The rest of the trainees he was with, including Jinyoung and BamBam, were looking at Jaemin like: New friend? Who dis?
He didn't know if Sehun had any friends or contacts in the JYP circle, but he definitely didn't have contact with any of these people.
And here he came, rushing like a maniac, disrupting the whole conversation.
It was indeed very considerate of him to do that..... Not.
Not that it was entirely bad though, it was pretty boring.
"Sehun what's wrong?" Jaemin wondered what it was, since he hadn't done anything.
"You know that trainee in SM I talked to you about?"
Sehun was trying to suck the life out of his eyes with that gaze of his, trying to desperately pry for better information.
He probably meant Bae Joohyun, Red Velvet's Irene, The SM Godess right?
"Yeah, let's first find a suitable place to talk though." The whole trainee group he was with was trying to butt into the conversation, and he didn't like that fact one bit. He couldn't hear Sehun that good because of the loud music and voices of other people as well.
"Ok." They walked to the terrace where only a few people were, due to the fact that it was quite cold outside.
"Now, what's wrong?" said Jaemin
"Well, I was trying to see if Joohyun was here, which she was. Then I gathered a few friends from SM to go and talk to her and her friends, but guess what." Sehun looked at him grinningly, anticipating his reaction to the possibly disturbing fact.
Jaemin just stared at him, not wanting to guess.
"They were talking about you!"
...
Really...
He's making a fuss over the fact that they were talking about him.... That's just sad... How deeply had this fellow fallen into the abyss...
Who cares if they were talking about him? That's something very normal, not special at all! Yet, Sehun looked like he had caught a murderer red-handed.
"So?" Jaemin had thought it was something special, to be actually let down like this is something he hadn't expected.
And then the conversation just got weirder and weirder.
"As a member of the future idol group EXO, I declare that you must date someone. You don't want to become an idol known to be single since birth do you?" said Sehun in a joking manner, clearly making a reference to some anime...
Ahh.. That's right.
Sehun's debut was nearing, it was currently March 2011, and if he remembered correctly, they debuted in the second week of April 2011.
It seems like the chairman had already put the members together, and had also made up the name that would soon shock the world.
He wasn't supposed to know that Sehun was in that group, but Sehun told him anyway, since he knew he wouldn't tell anyone.
Sehun would make his debut as an idol in 2011, while he would make his debut as an actor in 2011. It would be a busy year for both of them, especially Sehun, since being an idol was a lot harder than starring in just one drama.
If he was an actor who filmed multiple dramas at the same time, which he planned to do, then he'd truly be having a hard time.
The drama he really wanted to star in was, The Heirs. And he wanted the lead role that Lee Min-ho played at that.
To do that, he needed to be known as an actor with ability, since a no-name couldn't just take the main role like that.
One of the most effective ways to do that was play the role that Kim Soo-hyun played in Moon Embracing The Sun, which received a national drama status due to it's inmense fan base and high viewership ratings.
It had even received the Drama of the Year award, which signified that it was the most successful series in 2012.
If he manages to get a role in that drama, then he would become an actor who is highly sought after. It would form a solid actor background, so the producers of The Heirs couldn't just ignore him.
But how will he be able to do that? How will he be able to replace Kim Soo-hyun?
Dream High wasn't Soohyun's only drama, he was already quite famous before then. At least, more than he was, and even a little more than he would be, if he starred in Dream High.
His acting was better, no doubt about that. Soohyun was still only in his early stages in his career, his real fame came from Moon Embracing the Sun and My Love From The Star, and those dramas don't exist yet.
Those points and facts weren't just numbers and statements, they were solid evidence of his and Soohyun's ability.
His points were high, hence his acting skills were as well.
He was also better looking, and the roles Soohyun played in those two dramas were all the ones of a: Handsome Dude.
To sum it all up, his prospects were better, it's just that he didn't have enough background. And the only way he could score that role with almost 100% certainty, was connections.
If he had connections with the producer, then it would be a piece of cake to score a roll. He hadn't received an oppurtunity to make connections with him though, so he hoped that chance would come as soon as possible.
He didn't know if anyone from JYP had any connections with the producer of the drama, but he hoped threy did, since he had to come up with another alternative otherwise.
"I just let it up to fate, and so should you. I'm going home in an hour, the party isn't that special, everyone just stays within the same group after all." Jaemin just decided to give Sehun some friendly advice, because love isn't something you can search for.
"Yeah same, got it." They both split up and arranged that they would call each other when they would leave.
Jaemin didn't want to go back to his house after only having talked with Sehun and a few JYP trainees though, he at least wanted to meet other people.
But how was he going to approach someone when they all just grouped up and isolated themselves from the rest?
How is this even called a party? It looks like a royal banquet where nobles from different holy continents are divided by their power for god's sake!
And while Jaemin was thinking about what in the world he should try and do, someone called him.
And that someone, was Park Jin-young, the CEO.
Oh my god had the time finally arrived?
He wanted to pick up right away, but he first had to find a quiet spot.
He quickly rushed outside and ran a few meters away from the party and went into an alley. He did this so no one could interrupt him, since this call could be the most important one of his career.
He swiped the green button on the left-bottom side of his screen towards the right, and placed his hand, which held the phone, gently beside his right ear. He was shivering, not due to nervousness, but due to the cold.
"H-h-hello?"
"Hello Minjae, so, want to know what they said? And with who, I mean the staff of 'that' drama."
Duh! Of course he did!
"Yes I'd like to, is it positive?"
"It...."
Oh why are you doing this JYP...
The anticipation was killing him.
"It was positive, congrats, they loved your acting even more than Suji's."
