"I trust that you all have landed safely on Earth. By now, all of you must have realized something and you're right, your memory loss wasn't an accident."
These words stirred up everyone. Some shifted uneasily, some sat down, and others stood up, but all of them shared the same furrowed brows and curled lips.
The man with a scar on his face placed a hand on the shoulder of a youth beside him, pressing down, "What are you standing up for? Sit."
The blondie on the screen seemed to be flustered by their reactions as he hurried to explain, "And it's not whatever drama you're storming up in your heads. Hold on, let me find..."
Everyone watched as the blondie searched for something.
"Here it is!" The man on the screen showed the teenagers a notebook. Not bothering to explain what the notebook was for, the blondie opened it and started reading while the people on the dropship quietly listened. The woman felt that it would be a long story so she went back to her seat beside Daisy. The two gave a small smile to each other.

Earth faced a radiation problem never seen before. Radiation started to spread from a small corner of the world. And when the radiation hits, skin burned and body exploded. Places that were next, came down with huge cases of people being boiled from the inside. Even with mankind's technology, nothing could have been done to stop the radiation from spreading. Finally, world leaders came together and decided to go to space where the radiation won't be able to reach them.
With just half a year to prepare, humanity built a mothership capable of holding only 200 thousand people. Just moments before the radiation hits their spot, they blasted off into space. Unknown when Earth would be survivable again, everyone went into cryo-sleep. They would never wake up nor age until someone wakes them.
The marshal, however, didn't follow them to sleep. The science department had already told him Earth would never be survivable again. And so, the marshal spent hundreds of years finding a new Earth in another galaxy. He found a planet but he didn't want to wake everyone up to a false hope so he made a difficult decision.
He sent a hundred people to the ground. Those people woke up with memory loss due to centuries of being in cryo-sleep. The marshal communicated with them from space. Those first one hundred were dropped at the beginning of time where dinosaurs still roamed the Earth. The marshal was swallowed by guilt as he watched his people being eaten by dinosaurs.
They didn't even live to one-tenth of their one thousand lifespans. After another century passes by with everyone dead, the marshal did another test. This time, however, he was one of the 100. He woke up his son to be the next marshal, giving him a mission to deliver everyone to the ground safely when it's considered safe.
This time, they were dropped in the ancient times. Unfortunately, they were not welcomed because of their unknown origins. The group were optimistic and decided to start their own civilization but their arrival by falling from the sky attracted all eyes on them. Some were scared of their unknown origins while others wanted to get closer and study them. And when people finally couldn't resist the temptation, the group were captured quite easily because of their small number. Some were treated like evil spirits and were burned, others sold into slavery with their unique identity as people from space.
The former marshal was burned alive. Time passed and soon people started to question the ever so young appearance of those who were sold into slavery. In the end, because they never seem to age thanks to their long lifespan, people began to become greedy again. The last portion of the group were dissected.
The new marshal couldn't bear it and wanted to go down with everyone. They had guns and missiles, there was no need to be scared of those undeveloped civilizations. But he didn't because of his father's message and to find an escape before being suffocated by his emotions, he went into cryo-sleep, setting a timer to be waken thousands of years later when those natives were more developed and civilized.
Unfortunately, he wasn't awake to see the communication requests from Earth. When he finally woke up, he immediately tried to initiate contact with people on Earth but no one responded.
Uncertain and hopeful, he wanted to go down. He didn't want to send down a group while he stays behind.

"And so, he woke me up. Taught me how to pilot the mothership and other skills required to maintain it. After he felt I had learned everything I need to, he wanted to go down and so he did, with you guys."
Those last words grasped everyone's attention as they looked around, trying to find the marshal.
"Then where's the marshal?" "Who is it?"
The man on the screen had a wry smile as he took in their actions. "Let me rephrase what I just said, he went down with you guys...dead."
The woman beside Daisy stood up, "What do you mean by that?"
The blondie looked at her and smiled, "Exactly what I said."
Daisy stared at a spot with a complicated look, "...the ashes,"
"Ashes?" Because she was close by, the woman heard Daisy's words. She followed Daisy's eyesight and arrived at a discolored spot on the floor.
Some people spoke up in disbelief.
"Are those his ashes?"
"Why are his ashes here?"
Faced with everyone's confusion, the man on the screen explained in a monotone voice, "He wanted to die. He felt suffocated and was almost driven mad by the loneliness." the blondie saw that everyone didn't believe him but didn't bother to explain further as the screen suddenly went black.
'What the...'
Before anyone could question out loud, lines of words appeared on the screen.
[The control room has been unlocked. You guys can figure out the functions. Goodbye and good luck.]
...
Silence engulfed everyone. Although no one said it out loud, everyone had a tactic understanding. 'That man is not to be trusted.'
A minute passed and someone finally spoke, "Let's go check out the control room." Everyone agreed and proceeded to climb the ladder to the control room.
But of course, not everyone could check out the control room at the same time so most people had to stay behind.
Daisy stood up, taking a look around. She doesn't believe that man, there were still some dots that didn't connect. Noticing something peeking out from underneath a seat, she crouched down to take it out.
