The box was pretty and instead of using the word 'box', perhaps 'chest' might describe it better. Opening it up, Daisy only needed to take a look inside to know what purpose the chest holds.
Going towards the black spot on the floor, she placed the chest beside it. And with her bare hands, she scooped up the ashes, placing them in the chest.
Like monkey sees, monkey do, some people came over to help. Two crouched down alongside Daisy, following her actions. Another one stood by, unable to help as it would be crowded if she did so.
Daisy didn't mind them as she continued to scoop ashes after ashes, not bothering to even look up at them.
The people who had come over also didn't bother to say anything. Three people on their knees focused solely on the task at hand. Unable to do anything about the little bit of ashes on the floor and on their hands, Daisy closed the chest.
"Here,"
A small hand holding a lock entered her view, making Daisy look up.
With a fluffy bob hairstyle, big eyes and chubby cheeks, the girl looks cute and pretty at the same time. The girl smiled when she sees Daisy looking up. "I believe it's the lock to the chest."
Daisy smiled at her, "Thanks," she locked the chest and stood up.
The two people with hands covered in ashes also stood up.
Daisy took a good look at the two. A sunny, bright-looking boy with a tear mole and a girl with caramel skin, soft features and blue eyes, giving off an exotic charm.
Daisy reached a hand out to the girl with the bob haircut, "The name's Daisy."
"Irene and these two are Oliver and Raven." The girl had a big smile on as she shook Daisy's hand and introduced the other two.
Daisy smiled at them, "Pleased to make your acquaintance."
Oliver gave her a toothy grin, "Same here."
"Pleasure meeting you as well." Raven held her hand out to Daisy, giving her a polite smile.
Daisy shook Raven's hand.
"Look at the screen," Irene nudged Oliver with her elbow. Hearing her words, Daisy and Raven also looked at the screen. The previous words had disappeared and two words replaced them.
[Thank you.]
Seeing those words, no one felt the happiness one would feel after being thanked for doing something.
"He can see us," Raven said coldly, "don't know if this is a good thing or not."
Oliver: 'Just what are his intentions.'
Before they could think any further, a commotion occurred.
Someone climbed down the ladder, catching a box thrown from above. The said person then placed the box down, uncovering it to everyone. Another box was caught and uncovered and another one was thrown until ten boxes were lined up. Each box contained guns.
Everyone who had gone to the control came back. The boy with feminine features spoke, "There's enough for all of us...exactly a hundred."
"So everyone gets one?" The woman questioned the boy.
(A/N: "The woman" and "the boy" are the two from chapter one, they're not anyone new.)
The boy nodded, "I suppose so," he looked at the woman, "why? You want to choose who gets one and who doesn't?"
The woman frowned at his question, "What are you trying to say?"
The boy looked away, "Nothing."
Although displeased, the woman dropped the matter.
"HEY!"
This sudden shout frightened everyone causing them to send prodding gazes at the man.
Irene tugged on Oliver's clothing, "What are you doing?" But the latter ignored her question.
"You can see us!" He exclaimed, "Turn the screen on and talk to us! You seemed pretty upset by our questions last time. Did that stress you out? Did you turn off the screen so we wouldn't be able to see you cry? D-mmf!"
Oliver hugged the side of his stomach and looks at Irene with a wronged face.
Irene huffed and in a hushed whisper, she scolded Oliver, "Don't use that puppy look on me! What were you thinking? For all we know, that man can blow up this place if he wanted to!"
Oliver looks at Irene in silence causing the latter to be confused by him, "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Ya know...you should never elbow jab anyone with those bony arms of yours."
"You're still in the mood to joke around?!"
"Pfft," A chuckle escaped from Daisy and Raven.
Noticing Irene and Oliver's eyes on them, Daisy put her hand up in the air, "what? Are we not allowed to laugh?"
Irene gave a snort and looked away, her cheeks tinted with a light blush.
The light atmosphere didn't last for long as everyone's expression soon turned serious. The screen was turned back on and the blondie appeared.
"Hel-" But before he could speak a full word, he was interrupted.
"How can we trust anything you have told us?" asked a woman with doe eyes.
(A/N: Again, it's the same woman.)
The man on the screen stared at her before replying with a smile, "Hmm...Ning Le, right?"
The woman, Ning Le flinched a bit from hearing her name called.
(A/N: Finally! She has a name.)
"And to answer your question, you can't, I suppose. It's up to you all to decide whether I'm trustworthy or not. But then again, what other choices do you guys have?"
Nobody answered. Although what was said wasn't pleasant to hear, it was true. The man on the screen was the only person who knows what's going on.
"And I see you've found the guns. I'm no longer the master of this dropship so...who wants to be the new owner?" An amused smile appeared on the man's face.
The screen went black and a second later, a red triangle with complex circles inside circles appeared. A slow robotic voice came from the screen, "Hi, I'm Liam. What is my new master's name?"
The atmosphere turned tense. In these kinds of situations, a leader would be the one to accept the position, however, how could there be a leader among strangers?
Whoever becomes the new master of the dropship would be able to control everything!
No one moved, everyone was deep in thought. And then the sound of someone standing up was heard, causing everyone to immediately look at the person.
The said person walked in quick steps towards the screen and in a loud voice, he stated, "Your new master's-"
WHAM
Someone had punched the boy to the floor.
"Jasper!" A girl came rushing to the fallen boy's side.
Person A: "Now, what made you think you could just walk up here and take the position?"
Jasper looked at his attacker mockingly with a bloody smile, "Heh. Didn't see anyone else want it."
