Standing just 30 or so metres outside of the cave was a towering wall, replacing the once empty landscape. The wall was so tall in fact, it dwarfed even Faruth, not to mention the smaller Gnolls that had actually helped work on the wall.
["So, what do you think of it chief? Is it up to your standards?"] {Klein}
["Yes, Klein. It is much more than I expected, well done."] {Faruth}
Completely ignoring the Gnolls embarrassment, Faruth glanced over at Auram that stood behind him. After the construction of the wall had been completed, he noticed something slightly different about the two of them, as if their auras had changed slightly.
Using [Appraisal] on the two of them, he found that their levels had increased simply by finishing the construction project! Though it did make sense that they would gain EXP based on their job.
After the construction of the wall had finished Faruth also noticed a change in the attitudes of the Gnolls in the village, towards one another but mostly towards him. After a few days had passed the new arrivals were given chances to interact with each other, deepening their relationships and their sense of belonging to the village, if only slightly.
After getting to work alongside him the Gnolls became less wary of Faruth and interacted with him much more often. This was also assisted by the [Buddhism] skill, that allowed him to control his aura and as Faruth found out, that was not the only way he was able to use it.
It helped him in controlling his aura, but it didn't get rid of it. Instead, it simply concentrates the aura into the inside of his body, ready for him to unleash it in his attacks, effectively making them contain significantly more power. At the first level, he was able to use his aura to increase his physical attack by 10%. By keeping his aura trapped inside his body, it also allows him to unleash it in a similar fashion to how it was before he learned the skill, the only difference being that he could control it at will.
Within these past few days, there were three that Faruth had gotten to know quite well, the three Gnolls that were fit to become soldiers, including Marth. Whereas Marth was fairly proficient at using a spear with high Agility, like Faruth himself, the other two were more like regular Gnolls, using their brute strength to win fights with weapons like clubs.
Like the two elderly mages, the two soldiers were fraternal twins, named Rath and Drath. The three of them had came from the same village and had told Faruth that they were the strongest three there, even stronger than the chief at the time. But after witnessing Faruth's display of power, they wished to serve under him, in hopes of getting stronger.
As such, Faruth accepted the three of them in as soldiers, and would train them to act as such.
After finishing the [Buddhism] skill, Faruth had no plans to focus on himself at the moment and instead developed the people living within his village.
**********************************************************
Over the next few days, Faruth consulted with the higher up members of his village, Wulfarth, Alneth, the two elders and Grimanth, the wise village shaman. The meeting consisted of various things regarding how the village is run, such as command and training. Though the three elders seemed slightly embarrassed that their chief was asking them for assistance in running the village so soon, they quickly slipped back into their original states as the discussions raged on.
As the meeting ended, Faruth had made progress in controlling the situation of his village. In regards to construction, Faruth had bought every schematic remaining in the 1st tier of buildings, apart from the chieftain's hut, leaving him with 11 Village Points left. Along with this, he had discussed his construction plans with Klein. He planned to build two [Hunter's Huts] to begin with, followed by 5 [Basic Shacks], which would fit three people within one house, excluding the four elders, Alneth and himself it was a perfect number. After that, he planned to make a single [Basic Pen] and the frameworks for a [Basic farm], though they had no one able to use them quite yet.
The other two things that the meeting contained were in regards to training the soldiers and how the village would be commanded.
In terms of command, Faruth had designated the 6 main personnel in his village to have jurisdiction over various areas. Klein was in charge of the construction happening within the village, Faruth gave him the power to designate people that weren't already working to the various construction sites spread about.
Alneth was in command of training the three soldiers and together with Faruth, they had created a gruelling course for the three to work by. To boost up their physical strength, throughout the first 2-3 hours of the day, they would help Klein with the constructions going on throughout the village, lifting resources from one place to another. After that, they would return to the main cave within the village before being taught the [Buddhism] skill by Alneth. To finish off the day, Marth would spar and get pointers from Faruth, which Marth considered a privilege, whereas Rath and Drath would get pointers from Alneth, before being healed by the shaman and resting to complete the same course the next day. This would continue until Faruth was satisfied with heir progress.
Along with this, Faruth gave Grimanth jurisdiction over controlling the gathering of resources required for Klein's construction. As he was the shaman of the village, people were wary of his mysticism and held him in equal regard to Faruth and Wulfarth, willing to obey him almost unconditionally.
After the constructions were finished, Faruth would give the two Fraternal elders control over the pen and farm individually, placing them in control over the villages main source of food in the future.
Wulfarth was designated control over the remaining people that weren't fit to do the heavy construction work and instead worked with them to make things such as ropes and tools such as adzes and hammers to aid in the construction of the village. Alice was particularly popular with the women and children, making her a mascot for all of the Gnolls in the village.
As for Faruth, he took control over leading the expedition out of the village to search for food and other valuable resources. Along with him was the three hunters, including the expert marksman Frothen, who was able to teach Faruth various things while they were out exploring.
Like this, roughly 5 more days passed in relative peace, until Faruth and the hunters made a discovery that would change the way that the village functioned forever.
