["Ah, I have finally awoken! And you are here, Wulfarth, my loyal companion."] {Faruth}
Faruth said to his newly summoned companion with vigour that even surprised himself. Even though he though that it was simply a result of being unfamiliar with his new body, he moved on from the idea.
Not noticing the problem that was shown clearly through Faruth's body language, Wulfarth continued.
["Your right. I am here Master... But where is here?"] {Wulfarth}
["I do not know, Wulfarth. I used all of my power to summon you here, and when I did, i lost consciousness. I have only just awoken now, as you can see."] {Faruth}
'Great, Two people here and neither know where we are'
Faruth thought to himself. He was aware how they both got here, but didn't realise until now. He's completely lost! He remembered that it was one of the 'benefits' of the 'Wanderer' class, his starting location wasn't specified at all! Now he sees what it meant by 'The Hardest Start", it was certainly holding true to its name!
["Anyway, enough with the confusion. It is nice to meet you, Wulfarth. You are the first that I have summoned to this strange land. I am Faruth, but you may call me Master"] {Faruth}
To this, the formerly confused Gnoll looked at him straight in the eyes, before suddenly falling to one knee, with his head lowered to the ground.
["I greet you, Master! I am the Beast Master, Wulfarth, hailing from Broken Fang village. I am willing to work under you and serve you with my life!"] {Wulfarth}
Faruth was surprised, even though his title was 'Loyal', he at least expected some resistance to his submission. However, his surprise wasn't a negative thing, instead, it brought a wolfish grin to his face. Not that he could smile any other way.
["Wulfarth, I am glad to see that you so readily agreed to be my follower. But I must know, what made you choose so readily. Know that I am no fool, do not try to deceive me with petty lies and common trickery."] {Faruth}
To his stern rebuttal, he saw that the Gnoll faintly quivered. In excitement or in angst, he did not know. As he was about to speak up once more, the beast currently kneeling swiftly planted his forehead onto the ground and said with a nervous tone.
["I did not mean to deceive you Master, I only wished to serve under you. Please forgive my insolence! *Sigh*, you see... I'm not the strongest Beast Master in my village, in fact, I may be one of the weakest. I want strength, no, I need it. I need it so that they will all accept me, my family that is. My Father is the Chieftain. He completely refuses to acknowledge me as his son! I will return and make him see the error of his ways. So please, Master, allow me to serve under you!"] {Wulfarth}
Faruth was confused, highly so. If Wulfarth was one of the weakest in his village, even with those Stats, then what does that make himself. He needed to grow stronger, and fast.
Faruth, with his benevolent tone once more, swiftly spoke out to the grovelling Gnoll, prostrated at his feet.
[" If that is truly the reason that you choose to follow me, the I will allow it. You shall serve under me as my first companion. Your pain shall be my own, and mine yours. I look forward to working with you, Wulfarth!"] {Faruth}
He saw the prostrated Gnoll shake once again, but he knew that it was in excitement this time, rather than in fear. He rose to his feet, well, paws, in a flash and faced Faruth directly. His eyes beaming with a sense of accomplishment and worship.
["Thank you Master! I shall follow you from now on!"] {Wulfarth}
Nodding his head slightly, he beckoned the Gnoll to follow him, before walking off of the dirt road and slowly into the thicket at their side.
["May I ask, where are we going, Master?"] {Wulfarth}
Faruth poked his head out from the bushes before turning to Wulfarth and explaining to him.
['We are going to find shelter, Wulfarth, we must find somewhere that we can stay for the time being. Unless you want to sleep on the roadside?"] {Faruth}
Thinking of the pain that would come with lying on the open dirt road, blanketed by storms and bouts of wind, the village grown Beast Master quivered, before promptly following his new Liege.
**********************************************************
After a few hours of walking, Faruth and his new companion stumbled across an aptly placed cave within the foot of a rather large cave. Glancing at the physically weak, stumbling Beast Master at his side and thinking of his own condition, he decided to follow his instincts and head towards the cave.
The heat of the sun bearing down on both of their backs. They welcomed the shade of that the cavern would bring them, treating it almost as their salvation.
Before they began worshipping the existence of the cave, Faruth felt his back run cold as his 'Instincts' detected the presence of enemies.
