Third persons P.O.V
Itachi sighed as he thought about the child they had found in the targets' home. It was supposed to be an easy Anbu-level B-rank assignment with low danger as the target, Yuusuke Yamato had killed many civilians as well as his wife and possibly his unborn child. The child was severely underfed and seemed to be abused as well, though the extent of abuse is unknown, the whole mission angered Itachi as he thought about boys' expression of pure fear, when they came in and seeing the boys condition and the small cage he was in no one could blame him for reacting in such way.
Looking down at the small boy wrapped up in blanket, a part of him wondered how anyone could bear to hurt this beautiful child without going insane was something Itachi couldn't fathom.
The boy had passed from the stress of the situation and clung to him with his tiny hands that wouldn't let go no matter what, it was somewhat awkward for me, but strangely he didn't mind holding the boy much to his teams' confusion and amusement. Shifting the child into a more comfortable position, he focused on getting to the Hokage as fast as possible without being stopped by curious citizens and shinobi to report.
Itachi's POV
10 minutes later, I was standing in front of Hokage-sama with my team who are currently trying not to laugh and failed miserably, when the Hokage asked if I kidnapped the child to avoid my fangirls ~ shuddering at the thought of those stares and high-pitched screams. A small moan brought me out of my thoughts I looked down to see the child frown in his sleep and let out a whimper, ignoring everyone in favor of soothing the child in my arms and only looked up when he stopped whimpering and settled back down. Everyone was looking at me with the strangest expressions on their face like they couldn't believe that show someone other my brother affection. "What?", asked confused with the strange atmosphere that settled in the room and it had dispersed with my question into a more suitable one.
"Itachi, I think that it would be best for Inoichi to look into his mind for a more accurate evaluation of his mental state", Hiruzen said carefully, while eyeing me to see my reactionbut for what was unknown, and as much as I hated to admit it the Hokage was correct in evaluating the child for anything that could be healed with time and meticulous care could go a long way in helping the child to adjust into a more normal setting as best as he could even with all the years of abuse and mistreatment he no doubt had suffered at his fathers hands. "Only if I'm there to calm him down from reliving the memories", I said firmly as it was the only way for me to agree Inoichi to rummage in the childs mind. My hold on the boy tightened slightly as I narrowed my eyes at the Hokage daring him to contradict my words. "Also ,I'm going to be taking care of the child from now on and I'm sure my Father would allow me this much at the least", I said without ever changing my expression or icy tone before turning on my heel and leaving the Hokages' office, while ignoring my teams suppressed laughter of disbelief.
Walking into my home with a child in my arms had garnered unwanted attention than I would like to admit and so was getting the childs' wounds treated and catalogued even more so, but I'd never admit that it was satisfying to see peoples' reactions at the my appearance and trying to guess what I was doing with a child bundled in my arms other than Sasuke. The moment I walked into house, I was spotted by my silly little Otouto and had my legs crashed into before I had a chance to stop him,as I balancing my charge and hoping that the child had not woken up with all the commotion that just occurred.
