Itachi's POV
After I told Sasuke to be quiet or I won't show him the surprise I brought home was more effective than a scolding from Kaa-san any day, though I wouldn't tell her that as she can get a little forceful in my 'spending'more time with Sasuke in between my missions as Anbu. But things don't always go as planned and while I would like to spend more time with my Otouto, the truth of the matter is that I love my village more than my clan and hopefully this sweet child will be a changing factor in how my Tou-san sees me. Looking down at the unconscious child, I prayed that one day he'll trust me no matter the situation, as I feel that things are going to change drastically whether it's for best or worse remains to be seen.
"Nii-san, What's the surprise?", asked Sasuke with the eagerness of a 5 year old, even though he's already ten. I chuckled and bent down to his level and showed him my charge and explained to my cute Otouto that this child will be staying here for now on and that I'll be taking care of him because he has no one else to take care of him. At first, Sasuke was disappointed that his time with me will be shortened than it already is, but when I explained that he'll see me more often and at the chance he'll get a possible friend to play with, he practically glowed with happiness. As it's getting late, I ushered Sasuke to bed and took the boy into my room so I could rest and prepare for the confrontation with Tou-san that's bound to happen when he gets home, as I looked at my little one and vowed to never let anything happen to this who capture my heart, all the while not knowing that it was the beginning of a patnership so strong that their enemies flee at the sight them.
Fugaku's POV
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, that my son had acted that way in front of the Hokage or the fact that he brought a child back from his mission and took the liberty of housing the child without asking for my input or if it might able to help us change the villagers view of the Uchiha Clan. Granted that Itachi is more than capable of caring for a child on his own, this is not the time for that as it interferes with my plans to overthrow Hiruzen, and everything depends on Itachi's ability to gather information that will help us succeed. Ever since the Nine-Tails attacked our village, the villagers lost their trust in my clan as we were told to stay away from the fight and protect the citizens from outside forces and falling objects and things just got worst since then and even though the Hokage tried his best to change the villagers mind it never changed their view of us. It's gotten to the point that we can barely do our jobs without problems arising and false complaints being thrown at us when all we want to do is our jobs as protectors of this village.
3rd POV
As Fugaku made his way home, the winds of change were on the horizon and it does not bode well for the future.
