It's been a year, for most people that was only considered as a blink of an eye but that's not what it was in Xael's case. That one year is the most hellish year she had.

A year ago, on their way to their own home after the wedding, the car they're riding exploded in a dreadful manner. This caused several casualties; the driver, the chauffer, the body guards, a few folks riding in their perspective cars that was around them and Xael's vey beloved husband.

After the explosion, Xael fell into coma and was unconscious for three months. Everyone is in the state of distress as they didn't expect such a misfortune to embrace them. The omnipotent heir was suddenly cut down and his wife who should be inheriting everything is not in a stable state.

The commotion was only temporary with the help of Zeether's parents, the Zaitsev-Wilczynski couple, considering the fact that Xael's parents, the Long Couple, also handled the aftermath of the accident especially the culprit behind the whole catastrophe.

It turns out that few of the biggest nemesis of Zeether have joined forces to eliminate him. Taking the opportunity of the wedding, instead of laying low, they took charge and grasped the chance of killing Zeether with everything they could and resulted to that bomb. It might be reckless and simple but that is the smartest way of killing him the easiest way.

When Xael woke up, the first thing she spoke was her husband's name. Looking at her pale face, her mother remained silent before she clutched her hands gently placing a smile on her face.

As Xael glanced at her mother, her heart skipped a beat. That smile is not a good smile yet Xael turned a blind eye.

"Mom, where's Zeether? Why is he not here?"

Hearing her question with a voice of longing, Zeether's mother couldn't help but bit her lips, her eyes turned watery but she could only do her best to hold it in lowering her head to not meet Xael's eyes.

Not getting a reply, Xael repeated her question, "Mom, where is he? I want to see him…"

She turned her gazed into her father before asking again, "Why is he not here? Dad… I said I want to see Zeether." Xael tried her best to raise her hand and grasp her mother's arm, "Why… Mom… where's my husband? Mom… where…"

Xael's breathing was now chaotic that even words messily fell from her mouth but she didn't let go.

Zeether's mother lightly walked towards Xael before softly putting Xael in her embrace.

They were silent; millions of thoughts ran into Xael's head. Before she could ask anything to escape from the fears that were building inside her heart the moment she woke up, Zeether's mother spoke up.

"My son… your husband loves you so much. I know you love him too. So for him…" sobs rang in Xael's ears before the words that deafen her ears were uttered, "you have to live. I know that is what Zeether wants the most, Xael."

"Mom, you… why are you talking like that?" Despite saying that, Xael's expression was getting worse. "I… I don't want to… hear that… from you…" Xael closed her eyes; the pain that was eating her heart was unbearable. "I will only listen to my husband… where is he, Zeether? Where is my husband!?"

"Xael, please calm down." Zeether's father could see that this is getting dangerous especially for Xael who was still weak due to her current state.

"Sweetheart…" Her father tried to appease her but Xael's hands grabbed his shirt shaking her head.

"No!! Dad, I want to see Zeether!! Bring me to him…" lifting her face, strands of tears was leaking, "Please Dad, I need Zeether… Please… I'm begging you… please." Her violet eyes that were full of glitter suddenly turned empty before she fainted.

Waking up after that, Xael would rarely spoke, the last thing the elders has heard her voice was when she requested for her husband's body to be left to her and let them live in an isolated place for some period time refusing anyone's company. Sensing that she wanted to mourn for Zeether in peace, both parent could only agree to what she wants.

They sent her in Villa Etteilla, the biggest and most secluded place in Isla Arcana.

For almost a year, at the highest part of the mansion, Xael could only glanced at the cold body of her husband which were kept and restored in its best form and were placed in a sealed airtight glass coffin.

The coffin was designed to perfectly maintain the dead body, avoiding entering the stage of rigor mortis and rotting. She silently stares before remembering the tight embrace Zeether did to protect her. Even with his embrace, her heart was filled with worries and fear. Right now, all of her emotions were being swallowed by regret.

Why? Why couldn't we live a happy life together? Why did you leave me behind? Why didn't you take me with you? I don't want to be without you. She asked one by one with a heavy heart as she looked at the knife in her hands and sighed.

She held it, pointing the tip on her throat, "If I had the chance to be with you one again, I will not hesitate a bit, even if the price is this life of mine." She breathes in calming herself before stretching her hand to gather the force she needs to finish everything.

'…your husband loves you so much…'

'…for him… you have to live…'

'…that is what Zeether wants the most, Xael…'

She grasped her chest as if her nails would dig into her skin. She bit her lips before she shouted from the top of her lungs, taking out the bitterness, the heavy feeling that has been staying in her heart for an entire year. Despite being determined of killing her self today, Xael knew that her death won't bring them back together.

"What sin have I done for me to be punished like this? Is it because I didn't believe in 'You' that I am getting my retribution? How could 'You' take him away from me? How dare you…"

She pondered, hissing every regrets she had that has been continuously hunting her in her dreams, and in that moment, as if waking up, her eyes held a different hint of emotion.

"Such stupidity."

She slowly ran her fingertips on the glass coffin, looking at her husband's face she scoffed to herself.

"I just need to destroy the end of our love; even your death will never break us apart. I will follow you even if I have to turn everything into ashes. I won't let you go. You are mine and I am yours. Even if I had to, I'll drag you out of heaven and hell. I'll bind you so you can't leave me again, we'll be together in our own afterlife."
