Chapter 15: Meeting the Realm's King

[Hellion Arc]

🌸

"Why didn't they tell us that we'd be arriving this way?!" Saya shouted as all of them flew down like shooting stars, their bodies glowing each of their auras. She guessed this was why they made them dress in their battle armors beforehand.

The others didn't get to reply for they immediately crashed hard onto the ground. Luckily, they all braced themselves for the fall and landed on their feet.

Saya heard a low growl above her and looked up to see a really, really huge wolf! Fear gripped her momentarily before it completely disappeared. Only one creature stood the largest in this realm. And that was this realm's king, King Riuzyll Wolfenhyde.

"Uhm." Saya just stood dumbfounded there as she stared at him. He was HUGE! Just like the reports told he'd be.

"Hmm... so you're the realm guardians?" Saya was shocked to hear a low and raspy voice coming from the huge wolf. She regained her composure and bowed like a warrior princess should.

"Yes. That is correct. I am Saya Ariomasha. I suppose you know the circumstances we're in?" she replied in a formal tone.

"Hm. Follow me." he said and walked ahead. Saya stared at the gang and nodded to say. 'It's alright.'

As the King of Hellion lead them towards his palace in his true form, Saya carefully observed everything around her. It was exactly as what she had expected. Flat desolate plains, huge mountains, almost red skies due to smoke and bloodshed, and everything you can imagine of a place that always had war everywhere. But strangely so, it had its kind of alluring charm.

🌸

All of them stared wide-eyed at the devilishly beautiful castle in front of them. It was completely red in color with black roofs.

The tall blood red gate stood proudly in front and just the pure imposing aura made them speechless. One must admit, the Red Rose Palace was huge but the imposing aura of Hellion's Palace was almost comparable to that.

As they entered the palace, they immediately went to the throne room. The King disappeared for a moment, possibly to transform and change clothes.

As soon as he came out, he sat on the huge gold throne and as they took a closer look, they realized he looked younger than expected. They obviously knew he was just fourteen but he looked Twelve at most.

"So the matter that you came here for, what is this about?" The slightly immature, slightly imposing voice boomed across the room.

Saya cleared her throat and began to speak. "There has been a disturbance in the entire Cosmos that's causing several realms to be destroyed and it's caused by an entity called Rose Reaper. We are currently searching for a black pearl. It is known to be the death pearl that's able to destroy a realm in one swoop if given to the wrong hands."

The young king raised his eye brows. "So, I'm assuming this death pearl needs to be eradicated?"

Saya shook her head. "Not exactly. If you destroy it, it will just lead to the same outcome of destruction. It will be better to retrieve it and we will bring it back to the kingdom."

"How are you so sure you're not lying to me?" Saya was momentarily surprised by the king's words. Then she smiled. Truly a wise king indeed.

"If I'm lying to you, I'll be struck by heavenly lightning at this very moment so the probability of lying is a tight zero." Almost everybody knows the words of an angel are true. They abide by the Almighty's laws so their oaths are strict and must never be broken.

The king just scoffed. "So what do you suggest we do?"

"Investigate." isn't that obvious?

Urika slowly sat down the surprisingly soft bed inside jer designated room as she looked outside through the huge window in front of her. She was really surprised at how beautifully chaotic this realm's scenery was. How can a realm of chaos be this beautiful?

She sighed and turned around to see Giku's tall frame sprawled over the sofa and softly snoring.

Urika smiled. He really deserved at least a bit of rest. They had been training and sorting various things at the Green Rose Palace that he barely had any rest because of helping her.

She looked outside once more and barely saw any vegetation. All she saw was a wide stretch of land and huge towering mountains devoid of any plants nor trees. But what she saw was instead a black coal colored tree with strange blue leaves. She never saw anything like that before.

Urika stood and stared intently at that one tree far from a distance. What was strange was that it just stood there, alone on the wide field with the impression of aloofness and arrogance. It swayed with the wind which created a slightly creepy atmosphere.

She felt a hand slowly rest on her shoulder, making her yelp in surprise.

"Are you alright, princess?" A familiar calm, deep voice sounded from behind her which made her sigh in relief. It was just her knight, Gikushi.

Urika glared at him. "Don't ever do that again. I almost got a heart attack."

Gikushi just laughed and patted Urika's head. "Sorry. What were you staring intently at anyway?"

Urika turned around to point at the lone, strange tree but to her shock, it completely disappeared even before she could show it to Giku.

Goosebumps slowly crawled up Urika's skin as she shook her head.

"It was nothing. I was just staring at the scenery." she told him with a slight smile.

Gikushi looked at her like he didn't believe her but just nodded instead.

Urika told herself that it was just probably nothing but the nagging feeling in her brain made her think otherwise...
