Loud voices could be heard in the surroundings. The villagers near the area were panicking and trying to run far away from the place. Magic chants and explosions could be heard over and over again. There were around 15 enemies participating in the attack.
The warriors that were nearby started to pop up. Some were engaging with the enemy and trying stop their tracks. The others were guiding the villagers to safety.
Debris were falling all over the place, trapping Peng Hu, Kai, Wedge, and Biggs inside a circle of debris in hot flames.
Peng Hu was confused by what was happening in front of his eyes. Everything was so sudden that he was drawing a blank. There was no plan in his mind that considered the possibility of the enemy attacking.
Peng Hu grabbed Kai's shoulders, hoping that a brilliant idea would pop up suddenly like how it always happened in the novels he read. Nothing. Closing his eyes, Peng Hu tried to call for any kind of innate power to surge up inside him. Nothing. Peng Hu tried to chant whatever popped up in his mind that heroes always say before using a special move, hoping that one of them would actually work. Nothing. None of the ideas Peng Hu had at the moment were working.
[Am I going to die...?]
Kai looked at Peng Hu, and felt that Peng Hu was about to collapse any moment. Although Kai was also afraid of the things happening before him, he already had experienced when the Great Chief rescued him in the past. Calming himself down, Kai chanted.
"Paci nod Astra!"
A faint green light enveloped Peng Hu as if it were embracing him. Little by little, it felt comfortable being embraced in the light and Peng Hu started to calm himself down.
"Thank you, Kai... What was that magic?"
"A basic magic to calm someone down. You were starting to crumble down Pen, so I figured that I had to prevent that."
Wedge punched Biggs in the face with all his might, blowing Biggs a few meters away.
"You called them right!? You traitorous bastard!"
"What the hell are you talking about!? It was not me!"
Biggs stood up and proceeded to punch back. Wedge evaded the punch, but he didn't see that Biggs threw a second one right after the first one, receiving the full brunt of the second one. Wedge tumbled right after it.
"Ugh!"
"Stop! We need to get to safety first!" - said Kai.
"I need to capture this traitor and deliver him to the Great Chief."
"Hmph! Maybe you are the traitor!"
"Stop! The enemy wants us to fight with each other. Right now, we need to work together and get to safety. Please, Uncle Biggs... Uncle Wedge..."
"... First, we clear the path so that Kai and Pen can get to safety. Don't you dare run off, Biggs."
"Hmph!"
Although Biggs didn't reply much, it could be seen in his face that he was feeling dissatisfied with how he was being treated as a criminal. More importantly, it was his closest friend, Wedge, who indicted him. Even though Biggs didn't show much in his expression, inside his heart, he was feeling pained.
Biggs and Wedge joined hand together and with a little help from Kai's magic, they could open up a path from the circle of debris. One by one, everyone left the entrapment. Afterwards, Peng Hu and Kai left the place so that the warriors could focus on dealing with the enemies.
Peng Hu, while running away with Kai... concluded one thing from what happened just now: he was still a coward, while Kai exhibited great courage and strength.
"What am I doing..."
