In a world dominated by narcissism and self-interest, people are increasingly drawn to the idea of heroism, not for the sake of others, but for the recognition and praise it brings. "Serving the community" has become little more than a facade-an excuse to boost one's ego. After all, why else would anyone go out of their way to help unless there were tangible rewards involved? 
This is the society we've built, but who's to complain? At least there are still people willing to do the right thing, even if their reasons are self-serving. Isn't that what really matters?
